    I dont know but MAngel seem and looks intimidated by Katrina's performance. It's pretty clear that she's in awe after watching the video. Her reaction cannot deny that she was stunned and blown away.

      Gabriel Mendoza I dont think M-Angel said she didnt like it in general. She just mentioned that the performance didnt touch her emotionally but that doesnt mean that it was a bad performance.

      Would of her opinion be different if she was just listening to the song without the video? Watching someone singing and feeling is SUBJECTIVE. M-Angel is known insecure because she sounds like a frog. She should have given her objective opinion about the notes or pitch but knowing her. hahaha

    • @nellhizole6047
      @nellhizole6047 7 лет назад +1

      We are all entitled of our own opinion (objective or not). M-Angel is no different. For her the performance was amazing but ket us not forget the fact that there are extravagant performances that dont leave marks in our senses. There are also performances which are simple but do touch our hearts. Maybe for M-Angel this was a good performance but not good enough to move her. As simple as that. we do not need to compare people to animals here pls.

    Ovela made good pt about how pinoys love belting and thats most of what pinoys cheer for during karaoke time. (you are starting to understand pinoy culture man). M-Angel comments maybe coming from the fact that this version was the regine velasquez' version (unknowingly Katrina was proving she can live up to regine's standards) and the way it was perform from the beginning requires build up coming from a regine velasquez' mellow tone... and Katrina's low/mellows may come as "thin" not reaching a "singers" fancy.

      Lisandro Castolome another thought is that, filipino's likes the belting part because filipinos areborn singers, but not all can belt.so we admire those that can.

    HI guys, thanks for reacting to Katrina. She is one of the most underrated singers in PH. She's been joining singing contests since she was very young. She's signed w/ a label but we hardly hear anything from her. Most of her videos on YT are recorded from her bedroom where she uses a comb as her mic, so she is known as Suklay (Comb) Diva. I'm just happy that for the 1st time, we finally have a decent video of her singing, thanks to Wish 1075. I'm really thankful for Wish because theses singers that perform on this bus, most of them are quite unknown.

    Just a trivia, Regine did the first female cover of this song (of course here in the Phils.). This is the same arrangement she sang this with. Now like Katrina, many new female singers sing the same version. Well, to showcase their belting ability. After Regine, not everyone who tried were successful in making a niche in the industry. Very few have excelled but no one has yet reached the level of Regine.
    I agree with M-Angel, This is a good version. She can hit those high notes but I'm not crazy about it. I still think Katrina is very talented. Perhaps there are better songs for her. :)

  • @ejcsp
    @ejcsp 7 лет назад +4

    You should notice that this is Regine Velasquez's version. This is actually how the musicians arrange the music here (even for covers), from low notes then starting to build up til they belt out.

    First of all, Good morning from the Philippines! I agree with M Angel, she's very comftable performing esp belting and doing runs BUT it didnt hit me. I appreciate the vocal olympic thingy she did tho. Btw, she was charice pempengco's competitor back in the days. Here in the Phl thats what the singers strive for - Belting. And Im impressed that Ovela got it. Belting is really a thing here. Celine, Whitney & Mariah are some of the influences and of course, in addition of our very own Regine. This is what I like about MGN, you guys dont over react to the videos like what others do. Your own opinions are on point!!!! More power!

    That was a great observation and one of the reasons why Regine is the song Goddess! It is commonly known as Regine's flair. Regine's transition from one key to the next and to the next and to the next is always flawless and her trademark. Katrina in my personal opinion is on track in making it huge in the industry. She is flawless and I could sometimes hear Regine in her performances. Truly talented and I hope she will be given a chance to shine!

    Haha Ovela you are learning. Yes. You are right. It is tough to be a singer in the Philippines because a lot of singers here can belt. It is a matter of who can hit the highest note. May it be in the Television or just a small competition in a Town's Festival hitting those high notes is a must. If you can hit it you can win it.

    Wow! M-Angel is becoming more and more harder to please now since the day she reacted to her first Pinoy singer...and Ovela's opinion on the performance is so on point..that's how Filipinos look for in their singers nowadays specially the music labels now..they have a very very high standards when it comes to singing..and that's what M-Angel is looking for when a Filipino singer is singing now...they have to be emotionally connected to the audience and feeling what they're singing as well...But to tell you honestly, she did great..I'm not gonna lie! It was a live performance and it's not like a recorded performance that it needs to be perfect...anything goes when it happens live..

    In the Filipino language, we have this term "birit" which is what you termed "belting" which most Filipino singers have a knack for.

    I believe that "belting" tradition in Filipino singing all started with Regine Velasquez. I am 40, and I grew up watching Regine singing, belting on TV since the 90s. Most often, her performances would leave us in awe with dropped jaw. That I think probably was one of the reasons why every Filipina singer, then and now, wants to imitate Regine. Coupled with our love to American music like no other country in the world especially power ballads, as well as karaoke machines that you can find virtually everywhere in the Philippines, expect to see more of these Regine wannabes to come out ready to impress the world!

      look back during they 1st reacted on Morissette M-Angel was soooo insecure about her.. you can just feel it. When M-Angel tries to sing.. it's like WTF stop singing and she even insist that when it's the right time she can also whistle like Morisette.. bwahahaha.. She tried and she sounded like screeching tin cans.

      She is insecure. While she has her own taste, what does her taste brought her into??? Did she become famous from her own craft? NOPE!

      And most of them are copy cats of her except morissette 😊

      Because your mori can't slay and belt out all Regine's hardest song versions like linlangin mo and paraisong parisukat. Only Kat dares to sing that song same key and prolonged notes like RV try to watched it 😉

    They're right. Singing isn't just about belting. Like Lea is one of the best singers in the world and yet, she doesn't belt much. So guys, appreciate the singing, not the belting. Thumbs up to both of you!

    All love for M-angel for being so true. For me, this is one of the most jaw-dropping performances in the Wish bus. But that's just me. Each person would have a different opinion. If M-angel does not like it, it does not mean she's bitter or what not. It does not even matter if she can sing better than Katrina - that's just not the point. Accepting each other's point of view and opinion is what we call OPEN-MINDEDNESS. And it's something we must all embrace. Can't we just appreciate the fact that these two reactors are not lying to our face and pretending to like something they don't? I think that's the point of these react channels - to show us their pure reaction and not to just blindly agree with us entirely so they can earn RUclips money while we feed our egos.

    The Filipino singer are rated as to how clean they can sing in the highest notes, that is where they are rewarded by fan adulation.
