This is beyond super help full due to twitch allowing multi streaming and managing 2 chats at the same time THANK YOU
I love this so much. So clever! A brilliant tool. I also noted that if you use the font parameter in the overlay you can use any font you have installed locally and not just the ones from the dropdown.
Also just discovered yesterday that there’s native support for VDO Ninja in Companion now. Previously I used MIDI but this is so much easier to get buttons onto my streamdeck.
Cheers mate, now I will become biggest streamer on Twitch and RUclips thanks to you.
This was excellent Steve! I know that going through every option would make the video incredibly long, but you hit the important ones for sure! Thank you again... by the way,, i know some may have a few issues with the install, but if you follow and pay attention, its really not all that bad.. The key is EXPORT your settings!!!!

Where are the settings kept?
Before you added all the fetures to the plug-in you had helped me setup the look of my popups. What file should I delete to remove the hard coded settings?
I still love social stream and use it every weekly stream.
Uninstall the extension and reinstall it to reset things
Is it possible to setup a chat keyword to trigger a sound effect in OBS?
If you use the custom action scripting option, which implies writing a few lines of JavaScript inside custom.js, then you can have control over that and play an audio file or even change OBS scenes
So just a question.
What if you have OBS set to automatically log into your RUclips/Twitch account to start streaming and you dont need to go to their physical websites to start a stream? I have OBS automatically pop out a chat window for RUclips however when i type in a message there, it doesnt show up in the ChatNinja window for me to be able to display on featured. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
It does not yet work with OBS chat as it is its own application and I cannot read comments across applications.
In the future I'll allow you to social sign into your chat to get comments, like OBS, but it's not added yet

Thank you so much! I'm using it and loving it. The only issue I have had is when I am using obs, I pop the chat out, and if I comment while the pop out say's "top chat" instead of "live chat" it seems to goof everything up, and all the comments start to freeze in browser capture on OBS. Even if switch the YT popout back to "live" it still keeps it so all the comments don't show up in obs. If I refresh the browser source in obs, it will show all the comments for a second or 2, then go back to an older set of messages. Just curious, if you know what I'm talking about. Again, thank you so much for all of this work. I love this extension/app.
I should mention that this is all when my actual stream is live on YT.

My biggest need right now is to combine the chats so that I can see them in a single OBS window. Would it be possible to use this as a browser source within OBS so I can see the combined chat for myself only? It would be immensely helpful since I can't display a combined chat because of Twitch TOS, but I'd like to be able to read it and respond to both RUclips and Twitch streams live..
yes, you can add it as a dockable widget in OBS to do what you want
@xtianNinjaYT have you figured out how to separate the 2 chats on stream? I'm in the same situation, stream to YT and Twitch and haven't figured out how to separate the 2 chats on stream (due to Twitch's TOS as you mentioned). thanks

@@samycaps You can't do it on the actual stream that you're sending out - but the easiest way I've found is LumiaStream. They're actually working super hard to make it easy to see and differentiate all the chats.
this has been great but out of no where now it says Social Stream Ninja started bebugging this browser. I haven't changed anything so I don't know what's going on. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and it hasn't changed. I can't even type into it without getting the message. Any help would be great!
Debug mode occurs when sending messages back to the chat sites.
If you are relaying chat, for example it will occur.
If you don't want to see the debug message, you can try the standalibe version of social stream or disable anything that might respond to chat.
thanks for making this, how ever i got a question, i tested the message on screen with more then 300 characters and the message went to the other side of my screen. Can i change that?
If the message has non-breaking characters, like 300 characters without spaces, it may not wrap in cases. There is a way to get it to wrap though.

Chat ninja seems to be terminating my Facebook live stream sometimes when I use the chat overlay.
I'll investigate.
The BTTV/7TV emotes are super small in the emote wall, specially when they are right next to the RUclips ones

@@steve_seguin it's much better now but because this is not using the 2x or 3x sizes for the BTTV emotes they are very pixalated when trying to scale the emotes

Hey Steve! Thank you very much for this plugin, it works wonderfully! I have a question, though. For some reason, my Twitch Channel Points redemptions aren't being captured by Social Stream; is there a setting that I have to turn on for this? I feel like I've looked everywhere and I haven't been able to find it 😅
Check that stream events are allowed to be captured. If it's still not working, I'll need to look into it later on today or so.

I would like users to just use VDO NINJA instead of using twitch/whatsapp and etc.
@@luizfelipegomes I pushed an update to Social Stream just now for this. I think it should work out if you pop out the vdo.ninja chat, when using the extension-based version of Social Stream and not the standalone app.
The pop out chat will stop working if you close the main vdo.ninja window though.

@@steve_seguin You rock man! It worked!!! I can view the vdo chat messages in OBS.
But I can't use the OBS dock to SEND messages to the VDO chat, for send messages i need to go to pop-out VDO ninja chat.
Another thing I noticed, if I use the VDO chat, the other chats don't work, for example, my WhatsApp chat only started capturing messages again after I closed the VDO chat dock. That's fine with me, because my goal is to just use the VDO chat, but I don't know if that will be good for others.

Normally you can right-click on the electron app , and there will be a menu item saying "hide cursor".
If using Social stream, you might need to right click on a black spot on the menu, or hold CTRL while right clicking to get the correct menu

hi steven can i change the letters colors . On my chat the names are white and messages also white . Thank u again
If you add &color to the dock.html URL, if the name has a color, it will add color to the name.
You can also go into General > message - Style > and select "Add a random color to uncolored names". So if a name has no color, it will add one.
If you want to give a name/message a custom color, you can currently do so in OBS by adding the follow to the bottom of the CSS section

Sorry for my English but I have just done the complete installation, which works very well with Twitch but when I do the test on the Kick and RUclips chat, nothing is displayed, is this normal?
you can try refreshing the youtube / kick chat maybe, but it should work.
Make sure that you have popped out the chat window for youtube and kick.

Which popup specifically; the featured chat only? Is adding dir="rtl" needed also, or is that already being handled?
I can align the text to the right, etc, but I'm not entirely sure I understand how the text is suppose to read or whether that aspect is already handled.
I can also just instead align the featured chat pop up to the right, and leave the text itself alone.
for the dock page, I have &alignright added, which I offer as a way to align the text and everything to the right. I can do the same thing for the chat pop up, or leave the text alone, and just align the elements themselves.

I mean that the whole selected comment pop-up will appear on the right side of the screen instead of the left side and also that in the selected comment the user picture will be shown on the right and then the text on the left of it of it. A kind of a total mirror appearance compared to the current option. If the obs dock has the option to align the entire content to the right also (mirror too: user name to the right and then the text to left of it) it's great. All the above could be useful for languages like Hebrew, Arabic etc. that are written and read from right to left. Thanks.

@@LR2023LR if you update the extension, you'll have a toggle that enables it. Under mechanics. Otherwise, just add that to the dock and index page links.

you should be able to add it as a browser source to Vmix. &hidemenu can hide the menu, and &transparent can make it transparent if needed.

I don't use vmix myself, so I don't know what's expected. Users use social steam with apps like H2R via ApI all the time tho

Doesn't work in Brave Browser. In the extensions say "error":
'content_security_policy': Ignored insecure CSP value "./thirdparty/tf.min.js" in directive 'script-src'.
Idk what to do :/
It should work in Brave, however if using a VPN, it might be blocking things.
I'd recommend using Chrome instead, but if it works in neither, join the discord and I can help you get it working.

Hey Steve, I was wondering if I could get your help I’m streaming and game playing with OBS I’m using a road caster pro and I’m trying to figure out how to set up my desktop, audio my browser audio without getting an echo please help
If using vdo.ninja, you can check out this support material: docs.vdo.ninja/common-errors-and-known-issues/echo-or-feedback-issues
If not using vdo.ninja, I'd need to know a lot more about your setup. I'd suggest disabling things one at a time, to see what's actually causing the echo, and go from there.
