Justin Yang Huh. I don't recall it in GSC or RSE. Maybe because I would skip the credits, I dunno. But even so, it's still quite an emotional callback in this particular track.

But (and this is just speculation to be fair, the company hasn't outright said this) since B2W2 sold *half* as well as BW, treated similarly in terms of sales numbers as say a platinum, emerald or crystal despite the amount of effort they out into it, they gave up on making sequels entirely :( just not profitable... Man just imagine the absolute roll Pokemon must have been on between 2006-2012. Like they had just come off of ending Gen 3 by celebrating their 10th anniversary with Gen 1 remakes and then went on to produce D&P and then follow that up with a deluxe addition a year later with Platinum. Then they released remakes to the most expansive games in the franchise and then Gen 5 began with the best entries in the series, showcasing they had mastered the DS hardware and could use it too its full potential *Ending it with this Mangus Opus of a game*
@@TonberryQueenas a massive HGSS fan I don't think they are quite up there mainly because they were remake of an already kinda bad gen, GSC was supposed to be the last Pokémon game so in order to include Kanto they screwed up quite some things, mainly for me is Pokémon distribution, because I'm almost always forced to rely on at least a gen 1 Pokémon whenever I play in Johto, Nidoking or Gyarados or a Fire type or a Flying/Ground/Rock type because all the cool ones are either way too late or just locked behind kanto (Why houndoom...) These are by far my favorite Pokémon games... I still play them regularly. Sun and Moon were good but Unova is where my heart remains.... side note: Who else heard N's room theme hidden in the credits?
I'm listening to this again just after beating Iris and man this game, the music, and this ending credits are amazing. I also feel like the ending credits theme really shows what type of person your character is. He/She took the time to run back and check up on how everyone was doing after you won the champion title. And also can we say the mother in this game is the best one. I'm assuming she heard word of our character becoming the champion of the unova region, and she waited outside for her child to return home. What a caring mother
I played that theme for the first time after I graduated from college which was happened two days ago. That was indeed the end of my academic saga and the beginning of my new saga. Perfectly timed.
The more the years go by, the more emotional this theme feels. All those good times playing this in high school. This was my go to Pokemon for the longest time and now.....It's a game I cherish with all my heart. This game knocked it out of the park. And I'll forever thank it for that.
bro same, as a kid i always used to play white 2, i remember my sister begging me to give her an oshawott, looking back at it now. those games helped shape my childhood.

Dear Gamefreak please re look these games over when doing the one day games that might me Diamond and pearl remakes, lets go johto, Black and white 3, gen 9, maybe in Pokemon z. You have tons of oppurtunities dont waste them by making dlcs or wasting potential just make them like the 2d with better 3d graphics and everyone would be happy
This gives you the "OK, everything's wrapped up here" classic feel that every other Pokemon game EXCEPT FOR B/W has had, because things were mainly done. B/W had such an epic theme because it was unlike any other game. It was giving that "Keep the journey alive!" feel, because it was indeed, as we later found out, not the end. THAT is why B/W has such an epic theme. But it doesn't matter, as they all are the final piece of music you hear in every game, which wraps up a great game every time.
I like the difference in story structure between the unova games. In BW, beating the elite 4 and N and Ghetsis didn’t feel like a grand final, put a bow on it journey ender. The whole Plasma plot kinda robbed the player of that experience, and the credits theme reflects that, being more like a “good job, but there’s still more” type of vibe. In B2W2, you get to finish the Plasma plot before your championship battles, and Iris’s theme reflects that, being pretty comforting and easygoing, fun, exhibition match feeling. And the credits song does it better, it feels like “there’s more for you to do, but stopping now is completely understandable. You deserve it.”
The Unova games aren't as high up for me as they used to be, but one thing these games did get right were the end credits themes. This is easily the best end credits theme in the entire main series lineup, and THAT is some high praise given how incredible the Hoenn credits theme is.
Man, Imma be honest. Pokémon Black and White were my childhood. They were the first Pokémon games I ever played. They’re still my favorite Pokémon games to this day. Just yesterday, I beat Pokémon White 2 for the first time. It was like I was a kid again. The excitement of getting my shiny Tepig for my starter, stepping onto route 19 for the first time, having my first gym battle again.. It was all surreal. When this theme played, I cried. I still cry when I hear it. To me, I feel it doesn’t just mean the ending of the game, but the end to my childhood as well. Thank you, Pokémon, for being such an influential part of my life.
I got to this point after 144 hours. I was on a call with my friends at the time I beat Iris, and I had to mute my mic, as I began to cry. I didn't want this game to end, and this song was adding to the effect. Its a shame that Game Freak is too lazy to make gems like this game nowadays, and it makes me sad to know that there are people in the world who dislike this gen. I want this to happen again. I want there to be another game like this to bring out my true self. Another gen 5. And even as I write this comment, I begin to tear up. I don't understand the amount of brain damage the 12 people who disliked this have.
I know how you feel. As one who spent over 400 hours in gen 5, I absolutely love it because of how much sheer passion was put into everything. Every time I hear this I cant help but feel so much for how this was the end for gen 5 and pokemon passion

If they ever remake gen 5 someday in the future (they still haven't even remade gen 4 so it will be a while) It shouldn't be a usual remake but instead Black 3 and White 3 it would make sense since Gen 5 did have a 3rd version but direct sequels to the first two games, so logically the remakes should be sequels too

Today was the day of my graduation ceremony. My last day of school was Friday, but today was my real graduation. I decided to listen to this… and I bursted into tears
This theme alone cemented this game as my favorite pokemon game of all time. Seeing the main character going back to all the cities where he faced the gym leaders was really cool and i'm pretty sure it's the only game that does this. And then the final scene where we see N looking at the horizon was just perfect. I love this game.
I genuinely think these were the last great Pokémon games Sure, some games that came after were good for example I really liked legends arceus. But black and white 2 were the last game that, despite being a game originally made for kids, didn’t treat you like one. Edit : I will retract my statement and say that despite black and white 2 marking the golden age of Pokémon, ORAS were pretty peak as well
This song is much better than Black 1 and White 1’s ending theme, but if they remade Black and White for Nintendo Switch or a future console (most likely in the late 2020’s), the first ending will play after you beat the Elite Four and Champion just once, and the ending in this video will play after you beat the Elite Four and Champion a second time, possibly.
Kryssy128 Or maybe it's because "to our respective futures" feels more like the adventure's truly beginning, while these credit music marked the end of the adventure. You defeated Team Plasma for good. You went to go fight the Elite Four. And you get this music as a reward for a calm ending.
@@Kryssy128 Black and White 2 were definitely more serious than the 1st games. Team plasma went from trying to sway people over with speeches, to nearly freezing an entire city
My beloved B2W2. You will forever be special to me as that first big push to start playing video games, and I’ve never been happier. So many friends met, so many memories made, all because you sucked me into gaming. This game is amazing and I still love it so much. If I ever had a top ten favorite games of all time, this is top three immediately.
Now after all these years. I’ve come back to this game and beat it in honor of never being able to beat it when I was younger. Black 2 was my first Pokémon game and will always hold a special place in my heart.
B/W's ending: "Congratulations! You defeated Team Plasma... but the threat might still be lurking... so BE READY!" B2/W2's ending: "Congratulations! You've defeated Neo TP, stopped Black/White Kyurem, and defeated the new Champion. You've got some more goodies ahead of you, but the worst is over. You've earned it :)"
I was a stupid kid I left the Pokemon series right when these games were revealed. I didn't like gen 5 because I couldn't use any of the Pokemon I was used to and the fact that they were making a direct sequel made me mad. I left for a couple of years until X and Y came out and I started to miss Pokemon. I ended up buying a copy of Y and having a blast playing through it. My love for the series had returned. I later decided to try to give gen 5 a second chance, I saved my money and got a copy of White. I was blown away the story was like nothing I had seen before, the music and sound effects were on point making the world feel so alive and I started to love the Pokemon too. After finishing I wanted so badly to play White 2. I don't quite remember how but I did get a copy and It was breathe taking too. Now its my favorite Pokemon game and Unova is my favorite region. I'm currently 16 years old and I can say with pride that I'm a Pokemon fan. I love this games I'm glad I gave them a second chance.
This was my first pokemon game. I played it for about 2 months before giving up after getting stuck on a gym. 4 years later I go back, beat the gym and play a little more, and then get mad again and stop playing. 1 year later and I finally beat the game. What an amazing game and I'm so glad of all the memories it gave me.
Currently replaying through all of the generations in order and even though I'm only on emerald at the moment, I can't wait to get to the gen v games as Pokemon Black was the game that really got me into Pokemon and it's been awhile since I played them.
I honestly miss the sprites and original style of Pokemon it had a curtain feel that could not be replaced by a 3D model, and for some reason the sprites in battle feel more alive than the stale models of most Pokemon now, it truly saddens me.

the story was just so amazing.... I don't know, the story really mean something, more than just a game....Pokemon Black and white and black and white 2 just hit my feelings like a bullet. I'm not okay to say goodbye. Thinking about N's life and all the journy makes me so sad. I felt like a real trainer. l always felt like this. We need more than just a "pokemon game" we need something to make history.
Irina Sousa Sigh... unfortunately it'll probably never happen because of all the hate b/w/b2/w2 got just because they were "different." People claimed that at that point, GameFreak was "running out of ideas" when in reality, Gen 5 was by far the most creative and innovative. I don't really think the fans know WHAT they frickin want.
While i really did enjoy my time with games beyond gen 5 like ORAS, SM/USUM, Legends Arceus and even SV. Man, Generation 5 is just where pokemon is at their best. The attention to detail, the challenge and the love poured into these games is truly unmatched. I wished Gamefreak made another pokemon game as good these games are again..well imo Legends Arceus came super close lmao
My first Pokemon game. Hitting the feels Edit: it was also my first game ever. Black 2 specifically. I bought it on ebay recently for $150 after not playing it for years after I sold it. I got it when I was 10 and I'm now 21, having bought the game again just before my 21st birthday
I don't understand why either, solid story, decent Pokémon designs (a few exeptions but every gen has a few bad apples) great music and characters etc. It was actually kind of sad the first time I beat the game.
Fallout Theorist Yup. I wanna replay White 2, but I'm too lazy. I need White ASAP. But they cost like $100 online. I regret starting Pokemon in the B2W2 era instead of BW.

Growing up with gen 4 and gen 5 I must say this brings some tears to my eye because it’s an end of an incredible era of Pokémon. I feel like after gen 5, Pokémon hasn’t been the same since, or at least for me it didn’t. :(
I LOVE the use of leitmotief (the reusing of themes) at the ending of the credits, when the leaf falls it plays the exact same notes as it did at the very start of the game.

You know, last summer I made the decision to try and complete as much of the medal rally as possible. A lot of that entailed the challenge medals, requiring you to beat the Elite 4 repeatedly. This has always been a favorite game, but the medal rally made me love it even more. I was forced to discover more things about the game, use pokemon I've never used, do things in it I've never done...and after every league victory, we go back to this song...and then right back to discovering/trying new things. It's magical.

Remember this is the last game ever game freak took actual effort to complete man I am crying remembering when I got my copy of white 2 and spent literally over 500 hours in that game I lived in it. I love unova
And then the initial reaction (mostly from genwunners as this was the start of their rise to stupidity) took their biggest passion project and shat all over it.
And it's not like they're NOT putting in effort now, they just refuse to have a larger team for larger (due to 3D) games.
@@jonathanflanagan1504 dude. you are the first person who notices that. like. really.
Sadly this happened again with 7th gen. People hates it and then they gave us S&S, since, Why they would make an effort if people hates the game?
Its actually so sad, because in the x and y beta files, it was found that they had planned to make sequels for those games too!

Always...I will always be moved by this little, seemingly minuscule melody. To me, it represents the curtain call... the grand finale... the wholehearted ending... to what is, in my onion, the greatest era of Pokémon we ever had: the DS era.
Goodbye, D/P/Pt, Hg/Ss, B/W, and B2/W2. You will all forever be my favorite main series Pokémon games.... *ever.* ❤
Gamefreak will never put the love and effort they put to Generation 5 ever again. B2W2 is the best mainline Pokemon game hands down.
ORAS >
HG/SS > All
Tho BW2 is totally awesome.
@@TonberryQueenas a massive HGSS fan I don't think they are quite up there mainly because they were remake of an already kinda bad gen, GSC was supposed to be the last Pokémon game so in order to include Kanto they screwed up quite some things, mainly for me is Pokémon distribution, because I'm almost always forced to rely on at least a gen 1 Pokémon whenever I play in Johto, Nidoking or Gyarados or a Fire type or a Flying/Ground/Rock type because all the cool ones are either way too late or just locked behind kanto (Why houndoom...)
And the level curve but for that i don't really mind tbh.
@@malick9549 I disagree (the new eeveelutions are awesome to me, as well as some new ones like natu/xatu and the starters), but it's not everyone's bag. To each their own.
@@TonberryQueen I didn't say I dislike Johto pokemon in fact I like them a lot but I just don't see why some are locked behind stupid requirements like reaching Mt silver and at that point you have already completed the whole game, shit they made a new type to counter ghost and psychic and then they locked every single one of the pokemon having said type except for umbreon which has terrible attack behind kanto(and Tyranitar and Sneasel are locked behind MT silver except for Sneasel in Crystal)At least in HGSS Sneasel and technically also Larvitar are available before the e4 but it's still a stupid move, and why would they also lock the evolutionary stones?

B/W credits-Story is just getting started.
B/W2-It's finally all over an time to go relax at undella bay.

I love you forever 2d games, my soulsilver that started the whole adventure, and black and white and black and white 2 which made me want to continue the games no matter how bad others said they were at the time I Kept on playing and loving them, they made me appreciate stories in games, and charaters in them.
If this doesnt get played at my funeral, I'm not dying
You're gonna do what N did.
You deserve it.”
you literally couldn’t describe it any better man.
Team Plasma: Oh shut up
The Unova games aren't as high up for me as they used to be, but one thing these games did get right were the end credits themes. This is easily the best end credits theme in the entire main series lineup, and THAT is some high praise given how incredible the Hoenn credits theme is.
Yes, this is perhaps the best end credits theme in all of pokemon
the end of an era...
It means the end of 5th gen.
It means the end of 2D Pokemon.
*It means the end of Gamefreak’s golden age.*

THE LAST GREAT POKÉMON GAME
This couldn't be more perfect for these games, the most nostalgic music of any pokemon game to me. Salute to Gen 5!

The end of an era... Even two lol. The end of the "Classic" Pokémon Games and the end of the DS era
This theme signifies the end of the DS era, the best era i must say

GingerSnap 173 I hope so. Sun and moon can change everything. I hope for new and awesome pokemons and a good story. we need more
Irina Sousa Sigh... unfortunately it'll probably never happen because of all the hate b/w/b2/w2 got just because they were "different." People claimed that at that point, GameFreak was "running out of ideas" when in reality, Gen 5 was by far the most creative and innovative. I don't really think the fans know WHAT they frickin want.
While i really did enjoy my time with games beyond gen 5 like ORAS, SM/USUM, Legends Arceus and even SV.

Many people bash on Gen 5. It's a shame.
You realize you can get White for $40 at GameStop, right?
mabey they did this ending song because it is the last poKemon gen for DS
Damn this one hit really hard because it’s not only a send off to generation 5 but to the whole entire 2D Pokémon games.
Alas, an end to the best Pokemon games to ever exist. I just hope Sun and Moon stray away from the boring old formula like Gen 5 did, but I probably shouldn't get my hopes up. :/ I want emotion, not just catching em all and beatin the elite four.
Don't worry It already looks awesome, there's no way they will let this one be bad in any way, its the 20th anniversary its gonna be really good. Plus this time Masuda's head director it'll be fine.
Pungu Madura's a legend, m8. Thank the Lord!
Andrew Cotter this comment is five months later, but what are your thoughts with the info released so far about Sun & Moon. Is it living up to your expectations? It certainly doesn't seem like it follows the same formula imo.

Ahhh man I am Always sad when I played this game or hear the ending theme because it makes me clear that this is the last 2D based game and also how much time has passed since I played this as a 7 year old Boy...RIP 2D based games
Since I was a kid, I loved Pokemon Black and White, because of the cartoon, but the games...are such a amazing games! We need to enjoy this right now, because in the future..maybe we don't remember this things that make us happy since our childhood, hope that everyone is reaching their ideals.
This is pure genius.
