I'm genuinely surprised how many people said this worked for them. I would recommend skipping this and going straight to opening it up. The amount of dust caked on the insisde of a console like the one pictured is still going to be massive. I cleaned an xbox in similar condiiton on my first every try with the help of youtube. It was very easy with the proper t8-t10 tools and an electronics opener (most just use a screwdriver but that can leave unsightly marks.)
I feel like the vacuum wouldn't take up much dust. I only say that because I tried to vacuum out the bottom of my bird's cage and it hardly picked up any seed. Idk if it's because the seed was heavy or not. But, I'd be willing to try. Also, do you think using the vacuum would help with anything that might be causing my fan to become stuck?
It may help but if the fan is starting to stick, it may have too much dust stuck to remove without opening it up. If its not dust its likely a bearing in the fan. You can try oiling it as i do in one of the tutorials i have but otherwise replacing it works too. And i can relate with vacuuming bird seed but mine gets it no worries so i would say my vacuum has more power than yours. It does require quire a bit of suction to make any major improvements. As a pc builder and repairman. Anything used to clean pcs can be used on an xbox as its build with a mix of laptop and pc parts (basicly a baby pc). Using a vacuum (hoover) you are just pulling the dust and dirt back out the way it got in. As for anything with alcohol i wouldnt recommend it
