he is the cutest, hes so excited to talk about the song and so energetic. his smile is so damn adorable. tmp are one of the best bands in music right now, I'm so glad more people are finding them and enjoying them
is there any chance you could tab one of these out? ruclips.net/video/tQ3p1SAHOJ4/видео.html or ruclips.net/video/VzJFIbI5U0E/видео.html i've been trying to learn them
Guilty...When I saw them in Atlanta a few days ago. I asked him "How did you learn to play like that?" His style is so unique. I am sure he gets tired of that question lol
Part with the tapping: 3rd ---h9p0---h4/5\4p0------------------------------------- 4th ------------------------------------------------------------------- (then hit above the nut and over the 5th fret) 5th ----------------------------------h7p0----------h2/4\2p0
Ppl prefer simplicity. When u hop into a car and turn on the radio, you wouldnt go for complex arrangements, you'd go for easy listens. But nobody listens to radios anymore, so who cares if it's not popular! We got Spotify now, and ppl can discover underrated music and listen to it all day anywhere :)
i can see every setting except which of the 16 preset delays (the very first knob) he is using. any ideas? i would imagine it would just be in the "loop sampler" position (6 o clock) but the video is showing it to be pointing more towards 3-4 o'clock which is either stereo delays or ping pong... ah, ive been chasing this dumb sound for years now.
This guy is literally THE BEST guitarist in modern history. Old people like to talk about ACDC and KISS... I'd best $500 that guitarists popular from the 80s and 90s bands would break their damn fingers trying to play this.
Does anybody know how to get the sounds like Dylan when He stroke the nut-harmonic before going to the 5th fret harmonic? I play with Tele and Helix but in clean tones but cannot produce the nut-harmonic.
He’s playing in an open tuning which may contribute to the chord he gets behind the nut, might also be something to do with the pickups idk what he’s using
Does anyone know why I can't get the note when he strums past the nut on the fretboard? It either come out silent through my amp or sounding like absolute shit.
After a few try it's not that hard, though i could never play it while singing ! ( i play on an acoustic guitar and tapping sounds like shit but yeah whatever )
Does anyone know the science or at least how to set your guitar to get the perfect harmonics he gets behind the nut? The notes he strums above the headstock are the same as the fifth fret harmonics save for a few cents being sharp or flat, can't really tell.
just use this it helps www.gtdb.org/csgsdsgscds it's because the bass string is c# which is 1 and a half steps down from normal tuning but the song is in G# or A flat and so the tuning is C# G# D# G# C D#
He's probably not even worried about doing this because 99% of guitar players don't even have the chops. It's like lol go ahead and try good luck. Not that's it's going to stop me for doing it.
I love the guitar philosophy. "Because it sounds cool and it was fun to play". Couldn't agree more!
this is so pure he's just here to have a good time
"You just practice"
Thanks, Dylan...

His guitar playing was what impressed me the most when I saw TMP live. I was just jaw dropped the whole time
same here, I've seen them live twice and both times were literally life-changing experience, I've never seen a better live band.
blows my mind how he does that AND HE FUCKING SINGS!!
this dude is gonna go down as a legend. the new album rules!
Mathrock riff runs are so fascinating to watch
and fun to play :)
When Pop-Punk meets Math Rock and goes to the next level! I just got addicted by that, this guy is a legend!!
I'm not really into the band or anything but I love when musicians are so psyched about their own music. It is a cool ass guitar part.
He is an incredibly good guy, and an amazing guitarist
@@dayna6082 It was an allegation for what he apologized later. He didn't rape anyone nor did anything on purpose
@@dayna6082 how can you say he is a bad person? Everybody make mistakes and most importantly he did admit his action and apologized for that
This is the kind of happiness every band needs!
This is unreal, especially with those loop pedals at the end
This guy is my number one inspiration when it comes to guitar playing.
He's so cute and this song sounds awesome!
Once again, AP is always on point with making me discover new bands to listen to
He looks like a shaved Ricky Gervais and he sounds like Max Bemis. Win-win for me.
im pretty sure he wrote a lot of the guitar stuff for the new say anything album haha
HE MENTIONED TFOT AND TERA MELOS MY TWO FAVORITE BANDS I'M IN LOVE
Theyre actually touring with TFOT later this year! It's so cool that they get to play with one of the bands that inspired them
Harrison Hammett Music
SAME DUDE.
I learned this song by ear. If who wants - i can make gtp tab c:

Love the guitar parts in all of their songs... Really keeps things interesting for the more musically inclined listener
What a lovely personality and such a great guitarist!
Guilty...When I saw them in Atlanta a few days ago. I asked him "How did you learn to play like that?" His style is so unique. I am sure he gets tired of that question lol
1:16 "I just thought that's kinda cool"... but his face says: "THIS IS THE BEST RIFF EVER, I'M SO PROUD OF MYSELF!!!!" and he's right.
He's so happy and that makes it so much more fun to watch
I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS VIDEO😭
Great video and very inspiring. Thanks so much Dylan!
I love how he smiles the whole time.
How we blends in the looper with that part is fucking genius! Sounds so good!
This dude is so cheerful, I love this band
I love that he’s wearing a microwave shirt.
it's wild this "How to Play" video has 2k more views than the actual song on their labels channel
Part with the tapping:
3rd ---h9p0---h4/5\4p0-------------------------------------
4th ------------------------------------------------------------------- (then hit above the nut and over the 5th fret)
5th ----------------------------------h7p0----------h2/4\2p0
Dylan is so fucking cool.
I really admire this man. He's exceptionally talented and inspiring.
I can’t believe he mentioned Tera Melos. Such a cool band which not many people know about and wouldn’t think that’s is one of their influences
they need to do an acoustic album.
my fav on the album
good night moon hey
he is so energetic and sweet and I fucking love it
THE BEST DUDE EVER PERIOD
Super fun riff to play.
I learned how to play this from this video. It’s so fun to play!
Such a cool guy, and a great player!
I was waiting for him to scream "I wanna twist your skin!"
Trying it. Getting there, very slowly but getting there. Not an easy one haha
this guy is so fucking happy i love it
Tell me why after he played the first riff I immediately go “ I wanna twist your skin, I wanna feel it”
Math rock deserves way more popularity. How could anyone not be amazed by this?

What guitar pedals does he usually use in their songs?
at 4:15 he shows the line 6 dl4 he uses
I'm setting up a band with open guitar timings like TMP. Anyone have any tips on how to play bass with that style?
Matt said he plays in Drop D, you should start there.
Incredible musician

HE IS SO SMILEY!!!!!!
That tele.
Fuckong love this man
**me realizing tragically that on my gibson the strings above the nut sound awful.**
Anyone know which Compressor Pedal he uses? Finding it hard to make the tapping sound as loud as the picking.
He doesnt use a compressor according to his rig rundown video
You can use the warden compressor
Does anyone know why I can't get the note when he strums past the nut on the fretboard? It either come out silent through my amp or sounding like absolute shit.
its not supposed to project through your amp lol, your pickups cant receive the signal
either that or get effect maybe itll work
After a few try it's not that hard, though i could never play it while singing !
( i play on an acoustic guitar and tapping sounds like shit but yeah whatever )
oh i totally get it now
Am I the only one who notices the taped up volume knob ?
Its his pick-up selector since he always accidentally hits it when he strums
its just that simple!!!
Does anyone know the science or at least how to set your guitar to get the perfect harmonics he gets behind the nut? The notes he strums above the headstock are the same as the fifth fret harmonics save for a few cents being sharp or flat, can't really tell.
NameAndLikeness it’s just the type of string trees he has on that specific guitar
is this standard tuning?
nah its, C# G# D# g# c d#
someone please tab this out for me!!!
Aye the fall of Troy is where it’s at
I’m still in awe of how he can do this and sing the way he does at the same time
is that a tapped arpeggio??
Yeah i can hear the Fall off Troy influence
math rock
I've always wondered what that fucking tape on his volume knob is there for
He says a flat but it just redirects me to e flat im so confused please help
just use this it helps www.gtdb.org/csgsdsgscds it's because the bass string is c# which is 1 and a half steps down from normal tuning but the song is in G# or A flat and so the tuning is C# G# D# G# C D#
