IF YOURS HAS BURRS ON IT LIKE THIS, You Must lap it to remove them or else they could potentially cause harm to your scope tube. I really hope this was just a fluke with this one particular mount. But be Warne-d. Did ya see what I did there?
My experience with Warne mounts is worse than yours. I had a Warne 1.9" MSR mount for a long time. It was excellent. Then I bought 3x more from Warne, and they were terrible. The workmanship and quality were subpar compared with the older one I had. The screws would not go in properly. Even though they had the same exact model #. I returned them.
That sucks. I considered getting this mount. I'm glad I didn't. I used a few of the Warner X-Skel mounts. I have had the ring on those leave marks on a scope tube where the ring segments meet. This was at 15-17 inch pounds. I use kapton tape as a liner with them now.
If its one thing that bugs me is the caps dont close up very close to each other, I got some pri rings for my 16" setup. I have them on a swan sleeve made by pri and I love the setup, I dont like that PRI aluminum and steel ringe are the same dimensions so I can turn a top cap into an MRDS mount. I have to use a separate ring so at some point I will have to change my pri rings our for something else.
I got my first and last Warne MSR mount recently. The flash from the (what looks like) MIM bottom was horrible and made the mount unuseable until flash was removed as it would damage the scope tube considerably. On top of that two screws came cross threaded and damaged from the factory. Try to buy American but the mount I got is horrid. The Aero Precision mounts I have are by far superior in quality for much less money.
Aero mounts bend like a coat hanger... I like aero, but their mounts suck. It's the same problem a lot of the mounts have, for some reason most manufacturers use bubble gum soft 6061.

No. I’m retarded
I was thinking the same thing, that the rings could be lapped. But at $270, it's totally unacceptable that you should have to. Good review.
1000+ reasons why I watch your channel.
I used Leupold Mark AR mounts on my rifles. They held up well. Around $89. Made in USA!
Excellent and fair review. Thanks for evaluating the things typical guntubers would miss or at worst, cover up.
Here I was listening to the Smiths and being in the market for most of your videos.. I must pause and watch.
yeeeaaah I'll stick with my ADM.
we tend to forget we had to lap scope rings mere two decades ago and get spoiled by relatively inexpensive and decent cnc rings from china
I think you'll be thoroughly impressed with the monstrum pro (7075) cantilever mounts. i like it more then my UTG and basically the same price.

You need a low end test scope, those scratches look brutal.

I would love to see a video on the Badger Ordnance COMM

So you being a machinist explains why you have a titans of cnc shirt.
I’d call em and ask them to send you a new one.
Excellent insights.
Hey cdoos I have a Promethean LP-1 I can send in for you to review, not sure how to contact you
Argh! And Warne insisted *not* to lap their scope mount when I called to ask…
Always lap the rings before mounting.
$270 is steep for that mount without innovations
I can’t believe you damage your scope finish.. Dang

I'm glad I wasn't the only one. But I'm sorry to hear about your experience.
@@CDOES Their customer service seems good at least. I got new screws less than a week after contacting them.

I would never give this fund any money due to the fact that the ATF is controlling it. Btw I’ve never seen a public firing range. 😂
This is why you need to lap any rings or mount...I've found issues in both expensive and cheap examples.
