I would happily give up some magnification for a better 1x, better fov and more usability throughout the mag range. If you want +8x, I would just stack a dot and go with a 3-9, 2-10, ect.

I've been looking for something new lately (LPVO specific), and you literally have all of the top choices I'm considering (March Shorty, NF-ATACR, EOTech Vudu, Vortex Gen-III). So, I truly appreciate the selection chosen and all the work you put into making the video (plus all individual videos for each scope you shot). Cheers brother!
Knowing that i got my Credo 1-8x for free makes me feel even more awesome after hearing how well you spoke of it. I had the original Accupower 1-8x, and after about 7 years of unreal abuse, i started having problems with it holding zero. Sent it in to Trijicon, and they called me and said, "we're very sorry, but we can't repair your scope as we no longer have parts for it. Would it be ok with you if we upgraded you and replaced it with our new Credo 1-8x model?". You can guess what my answer was😂😂
Im going to buy the Arken EP8 I am on a budget & want a decent 1-8 scope without using a red dot plus adding a Magnifier that's generally 3x or 5x as an additional optic to mount. Not a bad option.. but I am going to go the LPVO option. The EP8 offers alot.. plus even though it's retail cost is $400 they have a running discount for 30% off which brings the cost down to $295.. at that price getting this level of optic.. even if you have other optics you should pick one up. Sure Ill eventually upgrade to a $1000-$1500 optic.. but the EP8 will find it's way onto a diff firearm.

Your take on the PLxC mirrors my experience. Overall I like it. 1x image and FOV is awesome. 8x image and eyebox are “picky.” I notice the same of anything outside the horseshoe being slightly out of focus, idk if the business of the reticle contributes to that with your eye or not. Back it to 6-7x and it is far better, nearly perfect. I also have noticed I have to adjust the eye focus about 120° for best 1x and best 8x. I have paint marks on the eye piece for 1x and 8x and best average of the two between the marks. Honestly, I prefer the 8x image and eyebox of my Vortex Strike Eagle FFP over the PLxC 8x, but every other aspect I prefer the PLxC.
This was a masterclass as I expected. I prioritize durability, so my two favorites are Atacr and Vcog Vcog to me wins due to AA battery, included mount, and not having to rotate entire ocular housing
I gotta say, I have a PLXc and my illumination is much brighter, like daytime bright, than the one you have…low battery, updated version? I don’t know.
Regarding the Minox section with you cat as B roll; I too have stared at my cat through many optics. There’s something mesmerizing about looking at a beautiful little animal through high end glass. I also find the implication of a lil cat in the crosshairs to be morbidly funny, with the qualifier here that I truly hate people who are cruel to animals. I guess I picture other cats in a shooting war with each other and get that sensible chuckle. lol
Great videoas always. I knew I should have gotten the Credo over the Sig msr. The sig came wtih mounts with was pretty much the deal maker for me. I'll definitely go with a trijicon next, I've been curious on how they actually were
Thank you for this. Bought my first AR last week and after going down the rabbit hole of Sights, then the rabbit hole of LPVO's, I felt like the Credo HX was my favorite of the bunch but was surprised that theres so little information out there about it & almost nobody recommending it. Didn't really like the reticle on any of the other options & felt like they were too hard to make out on terrain or too distracting. Really liked the Credo's segmented ring, never was a fan of the Vudu's full ring & I could never really focus on the inner point. My brain always just tried getting a target within the outer circle rather than aiming the inner point. Feel like the Credo will give the benefit of quickly finding the reticle but without distracting too much with its broken/segmented circle design. Thought I was crazy for wanting to order this over everything else since everyone seemed to recommend the Razer or scopes that cost $2k+ This was the final thing I needed to see to lock a choice in, Ordering my Credo online now!
Yeh i'm in the same boat lmao. I currently have an SLX NOVA Gen IV from Primary Arms and like that a lot, but I think the Credo HX or the Razor Gen II-E is worth the price if you want to have as good of an eyebox, glass clarity, and durability as possible without spending insane money.
For those of you new to this channel....listen to this man!! If for no other reason than HIS OPINION CAN NOT BE BOUGHT!!!! He borrowed these scopes from loyal viewers meaning he owes the scope companies NOTHING in return!! Most "reviewers" are bought and paid for (especially if reviewing an Arken scope) and those videos should be seen more as "commercials" than reviews. You can rest assured his opinion (even if you happen to come to different one) will be an honest one.
the point of the razor is to be a red dot at 1x, and a mid-range scope at 10x. The in-betweens are just a byproduct of moving from 1x to the 10x magnification. The vortex and atacr are the overall "best". The most important things for an LPVO are illumination, clarity and durability.
I've been thinking about getting a Credo for an AR10. Our young lad, Hop, says the Credo is the only LPVO he's tried that he likes. For me, it's about the eye box, then glass clarity, then reticle. My thinking is that the eye box is one of the most important things if you expect to have any speed and ease of use using an optic at 1x or 8x under pressure and duress.
Ehh, you'd be surprised. When you have enough reps in with pulling the gun up and keeping it in the same spot during recoil, it doesn't really matter too much unless you get a realllly small eyebox, but if you are gonna be zoomed in that much, you're probably in prone or shooting off a barricade. Well, in reality, like a real fight, you should never be shooting unsupported if you don't have to anyway
EBR-9 reticle being the worst is a bit of a stretch... center dot is .2 same as the ATACR, but with 2X more magnification. If I didn't just shoot a QP match with a GenIII and witness others winning with Razors I'd keep my comments to myself.
He's basically judging these scopes as if we're in a shortage of batteries but we aren't and we're simply not going to be. Use the scope the way it was designed(with illumination on when using the 1x...) and then judge the scope. The vortex reticle is really good for precision shooting. I too have witnessed a lot of people win matches with that scope.
He says just get an mpvo but there is only one really good 2-10 on the market right now and it doesn't have a very good reticle(the Leupold). People want the Christmas tree style because it works really well. This video was honestly frustrating.
Great video!!! What should i pick, the Arken 1-8 or the Primary Arms slx 1-6 nova ? For 100 Yards on a 223 AR-15 for best accuracy on paper targets Thanks for the help
Great video! Very informative, helpful and easy to follow along with as always. The scopes more or less stacked up as I expected. I used to have an NX8 and aside from the great illumination at 1x I wasn't that impressed with it. I traded it off for a Razor gen2 3-18 and haven't looked back. For the PLxC, personally I am very curious what you'll think of the newer Nova reticle version, the SFP variant with a red dot bright center. If you do a SFP premium LPVO video, I'm especially curious how you feel that Nova PLxC stacks up against my current favorite LPVO, the Vortex Razor Gen2 1-6 E. I have a Razor 1-6, and it's a real question for me whether I just want to get another Razor, or get the PLxC Nova 1-8 for my next LPVO. I am curious what you think of the Kahles k18i 1-8, which I'm surprised is not on this video. It is a direct competitor to a lot of these optics and about the same premium price point. I hear good things about it. I thought I would like the ATACR more than I do now that I've seen this. I think its eye relief is better but ultimately it still has some issues that I didn't like about the NX8. I more or less agree with you completely on the issues with 1-10s inherent in their design. They're trying to do too much, and suffer from pulling themselves in too many directions at once. 1-8s already start to do so, and 1-10s just make it that much worse. I really appreciate you doing what you do. These videos are just fantastic and have been major help for me in deciding what optics to consider. Thank you for your hard work. :)

Agreed. My razor 1-10 went bye bye and the k18i-2 took its place. The new k328i is absolutely amazing as well
You, Sir, just got yourself another subscriber !
This is only one of three videos I have watched but ALL were of excellent quality in content covered and no stone is left unturned in the analysis.
Brilliant stuff, for which I am truly grateful and that surely helps in my purchasing decision. Thank you
thank you so much for this, been on the fence with several of these. ALso, love the "pew pew" in garage testing. 🤣

It's the plxc SFP that has me interested. That seems to be perfect for a lot of people, including me
Holy info! thanks for all the hard work man!
Great video as always, I’m interested in the SFP LVPOs comparisons, I’m really curious about the the PLX-C nova reticle
The Nova review is in the works as we speak. Itll be part review, part comparison to the FFP version.
Awesome! Starting this up now while I do my reporting here at work.
I can't wait to see the PLx Nova review.
Amazing lineup. Please get hands on the credo 1-10 and do a comparison to their 1-8. That would be awesome.
this was gorgeous
I have a Trijicon Credo HX 1-8 FFP on a Sig 716 Tread...you're right, it *IS* a pretty sweet set-up on an AR-10
I have the Nightforce NX8 on my AR-10 and I love it! If I had a disposable income I’d buy one for 4 of my other AR’s…
I have March Shorty 30mm.
Honestly, 10x is disappointed, but the shape with March's discontinued long mount ring is sooo beautiful👍
Man I love my PLXc 1-8. It does everything I need it to while being lightweight and short.
These videos are awesome! Thanks 👍
This was a masterclass as I expected. I prioritize durability, so my two favorites are Atacr and Vcog
Vcog to me wins due to AA battery, included mount, and not having to rotate entire ocular housing
I have it and don’t have any complaints 1-8 Vcog
@@jayw947 hell yea good to hear
Thank you for doing this, I love my ATACR for best comrpomise general purpose. Was very curious about the March DR.
I gotta say, I have a PLXc and my illumination is much brighter, like daytime bright, than the one you have…low battery, updated version? I don’t know.
Great job, excellent info!
I guess I picture other cats in a shooting war with each other and get that sensible chuckle. lol
Great video and conclusion
Great videoas always. I knew I should have gotten the Credo over the Sig msr. The sig came wtih mounts with was pretty much the deal maker for me. I'll definitely go with a trijicon next, I've been curious on how they actually were
We don't deserve you. You're the man!!!
Great job! Thank you.
Thank You!
Thought I was crazy for wanting to order this over everything else since everyone seemed to recommend the Razer or scopes that cost $2k+
This was the final thing I needed to see to lock a choice in, Ordering my Credo online now!
@@rondobrondo Just got my Credo HX in the mail, have to say im a happy camper.
Would have loved to have seen the Schmidt Und Bender 1-8, I'd argue is the single best LVPO if money is no object.
This is what the fuck I’m talking about. GOAT
Bahhhhhhhhhhh
I have the Razor 1-10 w/MOA BDC reticle and love it 🤷♂️
For those of you new to this channel....listen to this man!!
Thank you kindly mate!
@@CDOES keep doing your thing bud.
Love this guys videos. Not buying glass unless CDoes a review on it
Brilliant video! This entire hobby community owes you a debt, sir.
the point of the razor is to be a red dot at 1x, and a mid-range scope at 10x. The in-betweens are just a byproduct of moving from 1x to the 10x magnification. The vortex and atacr are the overall "best". The most important things for an LPVO are illumination, clarity and durability.
The new integrix line of scopes is very interesting, The video done by Polnar Tactical of their manufacturing is very convincing.
I actually prefer second focal. I only use the subtensions if I'm max zoom anyways.
The PLXC Nova will probably be your favorite.
Can this guy get the exposure he deserves?!
EBR-9 reticle being the worst is a bit of a stretch... center dot is .2 same as the ATACR, but with 2X more magnification. If I didn't just shoot a QP match with a GenIII and witness others winning with Razors I'd keep my comments to myself.
Also, the center dot being translucent is a helpful touch.
This is the exact video I wanted right now😂
Great video!!!
What should i pick, the Arken 1-8 or the Primary Arms slx 1-6 nova ?
For 100 Yards on a 223 AR-15 for best accuracy on paper targets
Thanks for the help
Love the video the best compairison i seen so far. Very detailed and like that it is not quick talk semi rush. Have you tried the Credo 1x10 also?
March is what I would want. Razor in 2nd place.
