Both of my WEGAs had yellow discoloring on the back piece. The whole panel. They stunk like formaldehyde. I Think its from the heat leaching out the bromide from the plastic. It is a flame retardant inside the plastic. I was able to remove the smell and restore the color by rubbing the panels with a rag soaked in concentrate pine sol or purple power. It was very labor intensive. Got my WEGAs all shinned up so it was worth it.
Fun stream! I did a watch back because I missed it live. Steve you do not disappoint. 54:08 is about when I realized I'm not alone in talking dirty to old tech. LOL

Those Sony’s were bulletproof. I have a KV-2127R that has a similar board that the one on the video and with almost 31 years of age, it still works like a charm.

Either. Mine is treasure. Found a Sony Trinitron Wega 24' and it only had white pixels on the top left corner, and curved corners. Not too shabby for a free pickup.
You don't have white pixels. It's not like a lcd where you get dead pixels. Probably some overscan/edge of the image.
Bent corners are fixable in the service menu.
@@troybranch9720 all i know is that I see white lines on the top left corner. Hard to ignore whole playing Luigi's Mansion. Pretty dark game.
I kept my panasonic, everybody wants me to trash it, that ain't happening!
