*_Yes! This always works. Kinda treating it like a gel polish. It works every time!_* 👍🤓❤️ Way easier than layering on another wet polish & trying to wipe it all away.
For anybody who really wants to get off the stubborn stuff, really soaking the cotton pad or ball helps, and they make nail clips for "soak off" methods and I personally feel like it helps traps acetone/remover from evaporating as much. Could be super wrong but it feels like they stay wetter. 😅
Yep. Just used my clips last night to soak off some glitter nail polish. I prefer them to using aluminium. It seems such a waste to throw away so much aluminium foil. I tend to always use glitter nail polishes because I have thin nails and the glitter nail polishes give more structural integrity when it's on.
when i first started using glitters, i destroyed my nails taking them off. then i saw one of your vids from a while back where you showed the cotton ball technique and i’ve used it ever since! works like a charm. love these kinds of educational vids because these kind of tips don’t get talked about enough!
It really is a game changer with nail polish removal! Honestly I use this technique every time I remove polish now and it feels so much easier on my cuticles haha 😅 I'm so glad you found it helpful and still use it!!
Yay let me know how it goes! I'd recommend waiting 3-5ish minutes if you can - and if you live in a dry climate, wrap your nails in foil to keep the cotton balls from drying out!
For these types of glitter polishes and light reflective glitters, I refuse to use anything but peely base underneath. 🤣 ETA: I usually get a week out of my manis with peely base by using the “moat” method of leaving a small amount of space all the way around your nail where you don’t paint the peely base. Then use another base coat (I typically use a sticky, ridge filling one) over the whole nail and that gives the base coat and colour coats some natural nail to “grip” on to, which makes it not pop off as quickly or easily.
I recently found a little german brand called Herzlack, that really makes glitter polishes which come of easy. Some normal polishes are way harder to get off. I wear my favorite polish "Saphir" of them now and yes this polish is easy to remove. But i don't know how international they are shipping
Ahh I got goosebumps just watching this. Cotton is like nails in a chalkboard for me. It’s an ick haha and the texture/feeling when you squish it between your fingers and pulling it apart and rub it Omg the goosebumps and my breathing is weird and I do get the nausea feeling which I never understood why people would with things but NOW I do. My my toddler in highly limited with crafts using cotton 😬 something I’ll buck up and do it fast and I’m proud
I do something really weird. I take any old polish that I don't care for and glob it on my nails. I'll let it sit for a few minutes and then take a nail tool and scrape it off in one swipe. It just slides off. I still have to use a remover to get the polish off but it's less damaging than any other method I've tried
About 25 years ago, I tried my first glitter nail polish, which was packed with purples and silvers. And I could not figure out how to remove it - this was well before there was a beauty community online sharing tips and tricks about anything. I eventually called the phone number for Sinful Colors off the back of the bottle and spoke to someone in management who recommended going to the hardware store for pure acetone. My mom was not sure that was safe, so I just waited weeks for that darn nail polish to gradually chip off and grow out. It took me years to try another glitter polish. 😂
I have eczema so this would feel like I was lighting my fingertips on fire, lmao. But thankfully my nails are painted often enough that a peel-off base can last for a week or more (if I let it) so that's my solution for glitter polish!
Why not pure acetone? I can’t stand the “nail polish remover” stuff that is not that and just makes it harder to take any polish off….love that now you can even find pure acetone at some drugstores
It works really well! She might avoid pure acetone as a swatcher because it's harsh on the skin to use over and over day after day, but totally fine for us folks who paint our nails once or twice a week. My guess at least. I also prefer "the hard stuff" myself though lol
This is actually what made me mad once about glitter. I know this has nothing to do with the vid but I hope it can bring a smile on someone's face. So my ex best friend painted my nails in this silver glitter polish. I knew my mom would ask me to take it off because it would be too inappropriate. I was 11 btw. But I wanted it on so badly. I accidentally ended up spilling some purple on when we were mixing nail polishes together so I decided that was a good incentive to take it all off. I had taken off the polish from my good hand already and I then got the rude awakening that I could've just swiped a couple times over the messed up nails and the glitter polish would not have come off anyways. I was so sad my silver glitter nails were over after one afternoon.
I can't handle the feel of cotton! Specially when it sticks to the polish it's like nails on a chalkboard lol. I use a peel off base coat and leave a border around it so it lasts.
I never understood how the glitter that is on top of a colored nail polish, ends up on the nail after the color is removed 😂 I use a cotton pad and do the same as you. just one nail at the time 😅
I can usually just peel off my glitter manicures (w/o peel off base coat) and often times I’ll lose the polish off one nail after maybe 5-6 days of wear. I’ve found whole peelies in my kid’s car seat more times than I can count. Something about my skin chemistry I guess. If I layer cremes and other finishes thick enough I can usually peel those off also 😂
This polish is Starrily "Frozen"!
Frozen is my guilty pleasure movie.
It's so pretty. It looks like Elsa's dress.
*_Yes! This always works. Kinda treating it like a gel polish. It works every time!_* 👍🤓❤️ Way easier than layering on another wet polish & trying to wipe it all away.
Haha agreed! Although I do like the wet polish in a time crunch 😂😂

You can use aluminum foil instead of the clips too, works great!

@@meeprificI use tape most times to not waste aluminum foil. It works too if you secure then hard enough.
Ooh yes definitely a great tip, especially if you live in a drier climate!
Dollar General has nice set of 10 for like $2.
I usually use a peel off base coat but it doesn't last long so glad to know there's a way to keep it on for a while and get it off easily
Yesss that's my problem with peel off base too tbh haha it pops off within a day for me!
when i first started using glitters, i destroyed my nails taking them off. then i saw one of your vids from a while back where you showed the cotton ball technique and i’ve used it ever since! works like a charm. love these kinds of educational vids because these kind of tips don’t get talked about enough!

Sometimes I add a little strip of foil over it to speed up the process a bit. you can reuse the foil from hand to hand.
Yes, I use foil too!
Yesss great tip!
I stopped using cotton balls years ago. I use nail polish remover pads, acetone and nail clips. It is so much better and no fuzz from cotton balls.
I love glitter polish, but don't wear it often because it's such a pain to remove. Going to try this.❤
Yay let me know how it goes! I'd recommend waiting 3-5ish minutes if you can - and if you live in a dry climate, wrap your nails in foil to keep the cotton balls from drying out!
What a way easier method than my sand, drip, and wipe method. Please keep the tips coming!
Yay happy to help! We all deserve sparkly nails without the pain of removal LOL
You taught me that cotton ball trick years ago and been doing it ever since 😊❤
It really is my favorite trick haha! Even for regular manicures 😅
I don’t take the cotton ball apart but I do the rest and it works well.
I use remover meant for gel because it's stronger, and I use silicone finger wraps to go over the cotton, works great for me!
I take my nail drill and skim off the top of the polish first. Helps to get the remover down into the main parts of the polish to remove it.
Ooh that's a really interesting tip! I always get nervous using a nail drill but I'm sure a file works well for it too!
Beautiful color

Thank u so much that help ❤❤❤
Happy to help! 🥰🥰
I can finally wear all the gorgeous glitters thanks to this hack.
Yay happy to help!!
Aww, this hack is how I first found your channel!! ❤
🥹 haha I'm honored to hear that! I love being able to share the nail polish tips honestly, those are my fave videos 😅

I use the round make up removal pads.
Those are great for this technique!
I don’t mess with regular remover anymore. Acetone just works so much better and faster.
I do love acetone but with how often I change my manis, I usually need a strengthening remover haha!
I've been doing this since you first showed this tip years ago! I also use clips to prevent evaporation
Ahh I got goosebumps just watching this. Cotton is like nails in a chalkboard for me. I’ve done this for all polishes since I saw your video long ago!
Yesssss same it's so much easier to avoid staining the cuticles even for regular cremes this way!!
Oh yes glitter is a pain in the biscuit to remove the “normal way”.. I just wear peely base because I’m lazy 🤭
I do something really weird. I take any old polish that I don't care for and glob it on my nails. I'll let it sit for a few minutes and then take a nail tool and scrape it off in one swipe. I always avoid glitter polish, because I always dread the removal. It's so annoying. Thank you for sharing this.

Oohh thanks I can wear my glitter np. In festivity. 😊
Yay happy to help!!
I use a bottle of gel dissolver to paint on top and let it sit for about a minute and it slides right off.
I can’t wear nail polish at my job so this hack is really useful for my days off when I wear polish
I do this with regular polish too 😂 especially my reds or pinks 😂
Sameeee!! Great for preventing cuticle stains haha!!
That's how I take all of my manicures off!
Tbh same, way easier and less of a chance of staining my cuticles haha!!
Omfg yes you’ve brought back memories

I thought this would be about peel off base coat lol
Haha no but that's an option too!
Peely base is my preferred removal method as well 😂
I learned this, I guess from you a few years ago. Always do it thisway
I use only bonder base coat, and i can always peel my glitter right off when the time comes lol
Always a peel-off base coat under glitter polish for me!
Is that a new Kbshimmer in the background 🤔
Not new but it is a gorgeous winter shade - Flash Forward!!

Also if you really wanna get it on one go like this but suck at sitting your hand still like me use foil to keep the cotton on 😂 😂
Well, it only took me 53 years to have someone show me this. 😂🎉Thanks!
Haha! Now you can wear glitter all the time!! 🥰🥰
@KelliMarissa absolutely, especially with Christmas on the way. 💜
Me cringing when you pull apart the cotton wool ball! I have always hated it, I can barely touch it, let alone pull it apart 😢
Haha a lot of people are really averse to the cotton ball feeling!!
+kellimarissa *Thanks for the procedure, which I'll probably use for a date.* DON'T try this procedure with ella+milaⓇ Soy Polish Remover.
Why not with the Ella+Mila remover? What happens?

Just a wet coat of polish will do it
I just pick it off.
And use lemon essential oil. It works much better than acetone.
I’ve gotta try this!! 🍋🍋
Edit: Never mind, way more expensive than acetone, at least for me.
Ooh i've never heard of this trick!
