The main thing I've learned from all of these hardcore death compilations is this -- don't trust party members with your life. Just don't do it.

Yeah I effectively play tank and know a healer to heal. Everything we do we’re over leveled for.
Especially rogues.
Main thing i learned is HC is for people with 0 life

What’s funnier is the rogue getting one shot by the defias drone, you’re meant to pickpocket that mob not fight it 🤣

Yep, it even has disproportionately high damage, not only the high level, I killed him for fun after pickpocketing him when I was like level 26, and he still was taking chunks out of me like he was equipped with little whirlwind axes.
@FortyTwoVodkas so true I helped a 22 do the quest, took combat so they could pickpocket him. I popped evasion and had to pot. I was level 32.. dude is no joke, I definitely didn't take him seriously to begin with.

“THAT KITING” then gets bonked on the head for almost 1K and dies. Instant karma is so satisfying. Too bad that clip ended too early.
I was confused why they would even attempt Araj at 58, 56, 57, and 56.
his kiting was bad tho, i play mage and first thing you do after nova when kiting is BLINK AWAY, mage walked like 5 yards then blizzard lol scrub mage

But he actually didn't focus on kiting, that's true.
Not to mention, that the whole approach was garbage to begin with, as you have to kill the adds anyways.
They could easily shackled one of the enemies, nuked down the mana burners and heal up the tank, then deal with the rest.
Instead they nuked the boss.
It is a golden rule:
Kill the adds first.
Use cc if you can.
Focus the boss last.
I would have left the group as soon as they told me their tactic.
It had been easy peasy to get rid of the dangerous adds and from that point on it had been a piece of cake.
Warrior could use shield wall to charge in and tank all the mobs and it would have been a piece of cake while the priest shackled on of the adds that would be nuked down last.
Then full focus on the boss.
You never ignore the adds or do some fancy stuff with a random group like that.
The whole tactic was tailored towards the rogue getting the quest done and leaving the mage to fend for himself.
Absolutely sickening
I'm really happy they started adding subtitles to the clips but the gargled death screams felt universal somehow

That SM Cath (almost) full wipe… how do you progress that far in the game and not one person in the party is like “yo we gotta clear both sides or they will pull” wtf?
For real, and how do you get that far as a warrior without ever buying a gun/bow
The incredible odds of it being a full party of people, playing Classic Hardcore, who've never done SM. Either that, or everyone's brain just collectively checked out at the worst possible time.

yeah, rookie mistake not clearing ALL of the mobs in SM Cath before pulling the boss.
im the pali friend, and he always does big pulls. btw he died again lvl 38 (pulled like 8 skeletons)
Can confirm, am the paladin in the 3rd clip. Got a couple more big pulls on my channel and overall always pull like this.
Also a bit of clarity on that clip : i actually cleared the whole instance like that, it just so happen that literally on the very last pull left we wiped. Everything else in the instance was cleared like that
The first clip with Desi was a long time coming. She has had a very long tendency to charge into packs but also not be in defensive stance when tanking mobs. She's been doing this since the early dungeons and these bad habits weren't unlearned in time. From watching her play, it is extremely rare to ever see her do los pulls.
Face pulling near a room with another pack and an opening to a hallway with a patrol...
But ofcourse she couldn't have known that, it's only a 20 yo game XD

At 4:12 - Pretty much all rogue quests are based around "DON'T FIGHT", yet here are so many death clips of people, who do the exact opposite, of what they were supposed to do.

On hardcore server today. Minding my business fishing on the minithil docks. Got distracted for minute mouse got knocked down swam my Rogue into some murlocs. Came back he was face down in the water . Moral log out before you walk away. 😂

I hate to sound like that guy, but these compilations are the exact reason why I won't ever play Hardcore. Because it would take someone like me, many months to grind my way to level 60. And if I die for _any_ reason, be it something I did, or something that someone else did, or if Blizz's servers lagged me out, all that hard work... _was for _*_nothing._*
if im not mistaken you can free transfer the character to a normal classic server if you want.
because Hardcore is a total gimmick, theres nothing hardcore about vanilla wow. nearly every single death can be attributed to mostly stupidity or hubris with a small sprinkling of bad luck. the whole point of it is to feed the ego of people who suck at the game pretending that they dont suck, the game was just hard.
Wasn't for nothing if you had fun on the way. Vanilla is more for the journey and not the destination
5:32 you should discuss tactics beforehand. Some groups pull back the previous two packs, the one on the bridge and the one in the corner into the other room to avoid getting kicked off the bridge, i have no idea if they did that, but in that case everyone is told to stand back there and wait for the pull to come to them. After that is done the people need to be told where the next pack (the pat) is fought. The tank is responsible for telling the group where to fight, many of them are completely ignorant which group is being pulled, they rely on the mobs being marked for cc and kill order.
Also nobody fights that group on the bridge, it's fought in the boss room, and people are told to keep to the right so nobody is kicked across to the next group.
I made many UBRS runs in classic, some fought on the bridge and occasionally someone would get kicked into LBRS (and that means running as a ghost into UBRS and hopefully the group has a warlock for summon), some pulled the groups back, but then it was always important to tell the group to stand back, then tell them to move forward. Never assume the group will automatically know unless you're in some raid that did several UBRS farm runs together.
I have never played WOW but I watch all of these videos. It amazes me how much goes into fighting in this game.
If Asmon streams on New Year's Eve, he should award someone with the "Roach Out of the Year" Award. He can show a bunch of the all time best roach outs then crown the best one.
So about those Southshore assassins....
I was doing the bridge quests on my priest but forgot I used my hearth when I accepted the 15-minute timed Southshore delivery quest. I was sitting in the water thinking if I should abandon or just swim for it.
I decided to full send it with Levitate and Swiftness pots across the sea to Southsore beach. About 100 feet out I set my autorun straight towards the docks and looked away for a minute. When I opened the screen again I was autorunning into the wall of the Inn with 47 hp 😭 and a poison debuff 😭 I anti-venomed and healed, and the guard had already killed the assassin, but if the guards werent there I would have died. I forgot the assassins existed so close to town that they're basically residents in it 😭 😭
As a mage I just love seeing mages break cc it always ends well😂 like a hunter multishotting his icetrap just beautiful
At roughly 10:00 the warrior misplays A LOT. The correct thing would have been to create the bandage, potentially go into prot stance, wait at the door until the caster could see him and begin a cast, then immediately LOS it and start to bandage, you would get a full 8 seconds before it got to 99.99% cast and canceled to chase.
Edit: Running around in circles is a lot more dangerous than holding a door you have already stood at.
I have never played wow and have every intention of never playing but i still love these death compilations😂

As a Scarlet Strat enjoyer... always range pull back to the previous hallway.
And always watch for patrols
Love when the mage runs away from the group instead of towards it and expects them to teleport and help him
They did all afk at the boss's feet after it died and then the priest went to go loot the boss instead of heal the mage and the warrior got rooted by the boss outside of melee range so he only had 10 rage which he used to refresh battle shout instead of intercepting the mob that casted the last mana burn which tapped the mage right after he used his mana pot and then the warrior also didnt pummel that cast which he was in range to do. But yeah the mage coulda ran towards his group
Every time I see one of these deaths it always seems to be in a dungeon. Who TF is going into dungeons, trusting your character's life and your time to other people? IMO you get what you asked for by doing this.
I think people who do dungeons are just more likely to be recording or streaming. Majority of deaths have to be outside of dungeons I feel like.
Never do that BRD room without a mage.
I’ve always noticed with the dungeon pulls that tanks and the party just runs in and pulls everything then are surprised when they pull bunch of extra stuff...I remember back in the day we used to pull with our range weapons to make sure we didn’t pull unnecessary packs. lmao.
11:00 he didn't only used a bandage at the right time, he found a window to CRAFT THE BANDAGE and then used it on another window. I'm out of words for this warrior.

The lack of awareness in this game is unbelievable. You see it in raids all the time. Instead of hugging a side someone runs down the middle and pull mobs.
Imagine doing the last part of BRD with 2 feral druids, a warrior, a hunter and a priest.
How do you even kill things fast enough to stay ahead of respawns? and how would you ever deal with a double pull?
Only way that group should be going through that area is hugging the walls.
@johnnylong1428 Sure, you don't need a mage, but if your only "uncapped targets" AoE is your healer spamming holy nova, then you're gonna have a bad time.
There have been plenty of BRD runs I did in Classic that ended right there, because we had no aoe.
That very first clip, makes me so happy I never had to play with a streamer just making content.
I tank a lot. I also know which pulls are safe to charge pull and which ones aren’t. That first clip is a known DO NOT CHARGE. It will always pull the side room

the tank knowing the pulls in a dungeon is level 101 stuff even when its not hardcore
The fact that my party disbanded on that stratholm pull b/c of melee going in for the pull made that stick in my mind forever... bad way to go, the packs are just too tight for that.

12:20 you can actually /cancelaura the self-inflicted stun from the goblin mortar. The stun is a buff, not a debuff.

Hello, I’m the hunter in question and I’ve been playing like that since 2009 - I’ve tried playing with keybinds several times and I don’t really like it. I feel more comfortable playing the way I do, whatever others might think (yet I have a good knowledge of the game and got two, almost three characters to 60 on hardcore, so I’m pretty sure I’m not that bad as some might think 😉). It might look more difficult for those who are keybinds enjoyers but I enjoy the way I play so… About the nameplates I agree, I have an addon but forgot to turn it on on that day.
pet on defensive is straight up greifing in dungeons
But imagine thinking you need keybindings to get to 60 without dying. Just get gud.

You can solo Araj de Summer in WPL as a mage, you just split pull and keep only Araj leashed.

Uhmm, no? Feral druids can range pull as well. Warriors are better tanks in the higher level dungeons/raids because of their block and crit break points. Dungeons below level 50 is no problem for feral tanks, as long as they know what they are doing. A high bar judging from this video, but still.

Is there any reason for a warrior to use charge? you get 1 rage and you have a 95% of pulling everything and dying

playing hardcore is a bit like being a Guardsmen. doesnt matter how vigilant you are, you cant be at 100% all the time and one mistake is enough.
or real life. until they fix human durability and aging. death wins 100% of the time.
