Because of the delta wings, when moving slowly just before landing, the aircraft has to approach at a steeper angle than regular winged aircraft. The long nose prevents a proper view of the runway, so they made it so the pilots could drop the nose to see the runway properly.
What a great Aircraft. Instead of improving this Aircraft more or 2:38 forwarding towards more better Aircrafts like that, this unique achievement was stopped. We are still flying at the speed of 60's and 70's era. Now a days when more and more advanced cars like Hybrid or totally moving on batteries, Aircrafts are still flying in past.
she's happier in her new birdcage, went yesterday 27/5/2018, and it's a good show, lots to see, and you can go aboard, and get close to the controls ( unbelievable) and much more besides.
Oh no - that honour goes to the twonk that shot your "My New Ringtone" video (over-exposed, out of focus, and that attempt at facial hair looks like it came from an Original Series Klingon Beard & Tash kit from Hasbro). Have a nice day!
the concordes way too expensive 8 thousand dollars for flight of one person, too few people could afford it, and it was better shutted down since the plane is very problematic high maintenance and very expensive fuel.
@@paulhorn2665 Actually it was their most successful ad campaign ever. It ranked 62 on The 100 Greatest TV Ads television in a poll conducted by Channel 4 and The Sunday Times. It ranked higher on ITV1's "ITV's Best Ads Ever" programme aired in 2005, ranking at number 15. Stupid you.
Thank you enjoyed that plus the old BA advert music
Well. I’m glad you filmed it anyway 👍
A beautiful tribute,so sadly missed.
Indeed 😢
Concorde takes a bow. 👏👏
Why have music when you have the plane to listen to??
It is. The visor lowers and the nose dropped 5° for taxi and take-off. It dropped 12.5° for landing though.

1:41 looks sad because of its last flight

Thanks. Isn't it also used for taxiing?
Class.
@Nickuncle the nose movement was to allow better line of sight for the captain and first officer when taxiing on the ground.
I thought the airplane that the final flight into Bristol was Alpha Delta?
So majestic
What a shame she no longer flies they'll never be another
Music choice-horrid
However this is by far the most beautiful video I have EVER watched. I love the salute
poor little concorde :((
Don't stop me now, I'm having such a good time
I'm having a ball
What's the point of the nose movement?
So pilots can play Tip the hat
@1shaneyeo It's part of BA's theme, or at least was.
The broken-off nose and stains coming down the fuselage from the windows suggest a bit more care is required.

No - Alpha Delta is rotting somewhere in New York under the "care" of the USS Intrepid Air and Space Museum.
actually, intrepid takes good care of her.
bullshit, she was in a dilapidated scruffy condition

It is better not to make your selfs glory, but in Jesus Christ. ✝️ 🙏
What nonsense is this?
That wasn't a "flight".
@waywardspirit7898 it just got in from London, so unless it walked to Bristol then that was its final flight.

I could afford it and I am not rich - just saved my pennies.
@@stephend that was in 1990-2000 according to inflation well 8000 dollars was really expensive that time,, it was like 20000 in todays worth.
Nice video. But I hate this horrible, tasteless music!
That was the British Airways theme! m.ruclips.net/video/5tCRXAjMM-0/видео.html
@@stephend So what? Stupid ad.

@stephend I think it was way ahead of it's time and I love the music. Thanks for this, although it is sad
