    2007 is the first year for the Acura TL Type S and lasted until the final year of 2008. I really love this generation of Acura TL, it looked stunning and had a fabulous V6 engine, with comfort to match. But is the Type S worth it? Watch my full review to find out.

    I'm committed to driving NOTHING but these. Mine has almost 250k miles on it and legit drives like a brand new car. Never stranded me. Fast, comfy and stylish. Just took it from Michigan all the way to Florida and back. Literally the ultimate value in used cars. I shed a tear when I see someone finance $17k+ for any brand new tin can! You could have got a 07/08 TL !!!

      My recommendation, for what it's worth, to take the next step is to step up the production tech and organization one notch and to become a bit more critical, maybe incorporate an impromptu scoring system.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  3 года назад +1

      Yea Ive been meaning to improve the production quality but then I sort of stopped myself because I'm not a pro videographer...truth be told I hate cameras and editing 😆 but you're right could def improve that.
      I'll probably never do a scoring system because I'm not a numbers person I think cars are more than numbers and they are a very subjective experience.
      But let me know any ideas about what could change as far as organization and format would like to hear anyone's opinions/ideas on that

    I have a Diamond White with black two tone interior 2007 Acura Type-S with 41,000 miles and one 79 year old owner. No accidents and absolutely mint inside and out. The paint is like new and still smells like a new car inside. All stock and everything works perfect! VTEC is awesome paddles feel really nice but I never really use. Mine came with the painted mudguards, door side moldings, interior carbon trim very rare, and windows/sunroof visors. The car had never been beat on since it was driven by such an old man. This is an excellent daily driver and it looks better the most new cars! The design and all the Type-S upgrades made the TL famous! The dark headlights tail lights, quad angle tip exhaust, amazing body lines, sick Enkei waffle wheels, Brembo brakes, high tech interior for the year and amazing dash design and seats make this car timeless! The car has the perfect size as well!

      No doubt that this TL is the best TL ever made~ I mean 70,000 units sold back between 2004-2006, making it the best selling luxury sport sedan, beating out the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C-Class, Infinit G, Lexus IS, Audi A4/S4, I mean it beat all of them, which is nuts. Acura hit a home run with this car, design and engineering wise.

    This is a BEAST! I haven't driven or been in a Type-S Auto but I will tell you, the 6MT is one of the best car experiences you will EVER have! The auto only Turbo 6 banger 2021 Type S with everything electronically motorized will NOT give you the same experience. And it will fall apart at 100k+ so forget about even buying it used and torn up

    If I didn’t love my Infiniti G, I would have copped that gen TL - definitely, DEFINITELY the last great Acura (aside from the new NSX perhaps) ... they really had a winner in that model given its segment competition then.

    That is so clean! Same year and model as mine, expect mine has almost 250,000 kms now and has been up and down the entire west coast of North America. Mine is definitely not in the best cosmetic shape (rock dings and paint scratches all over from brutal Canadian winters and gravel roads to cabins and hikes) but mechanically solid. Wish it was a manual sometimes, or in Kinetic Blue Pearl.

    I’m sitting in a 2006 TL with the 3.2 Manual 6 speed. When you said you can’t get a manual transmission in a 2007, 2008 are you talking about how rare they are? My 2006 was specially ordered with the loaded package. I’m the second owner. My TL has 170,000 miles but still runs great & books for well over 6 grand. I love this car & want to invest more into it instead of getting a newer car. Like you I fell in love with the body style of the car. Once I drove the car I completely fell in love with the car. These cars are sports luxury sedans. If you want a smooth ride with less handling & speed get a Lexus.

    I had one in Black in a Manual Transmission. Amazing, amazing car. very reliable and sharp. It wasn't the fastest car on the road, but being it was a manual made the driving experience amazing. Only downside, the technology was dated and it showed. no bluetooth audio and had some interior rattles. the next generation on TLs (12-14) in a manual are also amazing plus its more refined and up-to-date. Definitely would get another one in Manual

    Bro you’re NOT supposed to turn the wheel at all when the car is parked, that puts immense strain on the steering pump and wears it out that’s the noise you keep hearing 😂. Only turn the steering wheel when the tires are moving!
    Another pro tip always use e-brake when parking even with automatics. I’m still on the original auto transmission on my 06’ base TL w/ 399,xxx miles and am convinced it’s solely due to my religious usage of the ebrake.
    After 15 years of driving the base I just bought an 07 Type S manual and holy heck what an upgrade!
    Great review sir!
