I said it before and I ll say it again, this woman was soooooo underrated it back in the 90s! I dont remember hearing much about her in the media while Aniston and other actresses were getting a lot of attention. Fran was one of the most beautiful women on TV back then
she was extremely popular in Australia in the 90s, her show was the NO. 1 comedy!! not to mention that she was nominated for 2 emmys in 1996 and 97' :) I agree with ya!
Criminally underrated. I think it was because of the slightly older age and voice. Which really sucks considering her show is just as funny and she CARRIED it.
@@sallysmith8408 I believe so , too. And her clothing, too. Whats funny is that her clothes were ICONIC and she was criticized for that, but years later Lady Gaga was getting praised for her attention-seeking-lame-desperatelooking outfits. While Fran carried every single outfit she wore with ease.
At 1:45 she brings up her accent and then her accent magically becomes much stronger. I think she’s faking it. She might have a small accent but she’s exaggerating it very much.
I love the outfits she wears on The Nanny . She for sure has the body for them . She had flare for sure and everything else. Just like t h e opening song describes her . That for sure is how she became the Nanny
It's 2024 and this brought such a huge smile to my face. seeing Fran before the Nanny show is awesome and I totally love this woman and Nany was such a fun show!
The Nanny, was a perfect all round comedy show! Loved all the characters, the ending was the best;I can still see her in the off white outfit with the bowl hat. She looked so sophisticated and teary eyed closing the door to their old home; to start their new life. A beautiful stunning (funny) woman.
@@nygirl7195 Nice one! It's a true NY'r accent, that's for certain. 🤣I lived in the city, then in Woodside. I took the 7 train countless times to go shopping on Main Street. But, I live in the UK now.
I crashed Fran's birthday party at the Mondrian and her security asked if I could stay and she said yes, and I watched her swim alone in the pool for a long time, what a wonderful woman I enjoyed the party got kinda drunk. Fran, GOD BLESS you and yours ✝️🌹🎶. 🖤👽
Most certainly but she did much more than just a model for clothes. She made it to be the Lucille Ball of the 90's (and was clearly inspired by her comedy too).
Yes and the Nanny would be a huge success. In large part because it was an absolute treat to look at Fran. Didn't matter if you are male, female, gay or straight. She's a vision. This woman is smart as a whip too. Likely one reason she is now the Screen Actors Guild President.
My God, I'm hearing her original voice for the first time and I'm impressed. She has such a great voice and would definitely have impressed as a singer too!
Around then, 1993, Sony put Fran in Sony Style magazine as a model featuring their newest electronics. She looked so beautiful. At that time, Sony was the wealthiest electronics company in the world. They probably paid her well. Great comedic actress who seems to be universally loved!
her family in the nanny is based off off her real family! there's another story where her mother (Sylvia Drescher) said to her when the pilot first aired in 1993 "You're making our family look like we have no class!" she was holding a sandwich and all the sauce was going down her hand onto her arm lol!
Seriously? He just wanted to shut her up! And yet, here I am wanting to hear more from her! I know she can ramble on for a bit, but I always found her anecdotes intriguing!
Love her show! I still watch them on youtube!! She is awesome as The Nanny! Fabulous cast, too! Love, love, love Daniel Davis as the butler. It's so funny because he's from Arkansas yet has a fantastic British accent on the show. A lot of people thought he was really British and Charles Shaunessy was a fraud. LOL
She just owned three different Asian cultures at one time. Dim sum is Chinese Dr Yamashorito is a Japanese name Chicken satay is Thai. God bless America.
I vividly remember Fran being on some talk show in the 90s (I'm pretty sure it was Leno) and she was asked how she got her first major movie role. She said, "I swallow." The host fell behind the desk and didn't return for 10 seconds. However, I have never been able to find that clip online.

I love The Nanny, The Princesses, living With Fran, Happily Divorced, etc etc.
Fran Drescher is in person just as a delight as she is in the Nanni. Her presence just lights up the room.
She's gorgeous and her accent is gorgeous. What a combo!
Just Imagine Fran Dresher as Wonder Woman in some DC movie in the 90's
😳🤤🤤🤤
Omg! I’ve always felt she and Gal Gadot have a lot of similarities in personalities!
@@punitaiyengar6988 I think because both women are jewish
Yesssss
May be it's still possible with new AI tech. And let Actual Fran voice her.
Little did we know that The Nanny would become one of the biggest comedies of not only the 90s but of all-time.
😂bullshit
Still watching it 30 years later!

Her voice is awful.
She's like a Miss Universe. Even more beautiful. what a smile!❤
I love how the faster she talks, the stronger her accent is. 😄
I have noticed that the more emotional someone becomes, especially when they become upset or excited, their natural accent comes out.
Its a New York thing
At 1:45 she brings up her accent and then her accent magically becomes much stronger.

Some people have a presence. The “it” factor. It’s totally intangible, yet so obvious. Being beautiful isn’t enough, it takes both. She has both.
And marrying a producer didn’t help at all
Fran is simply beyond gorgeous.
I was born in ‘94 and have never seen this lady before but she is a QUEEN! wow, I have a new idol!
Have you watched The Nanny? The show is hysterical and well worth it!

My ex is from Chicago but talks like her. And her mother is a mirror-image of Fran Fine's mother.
Except that Drescher's accent is completely fake. Lemme guess....you've never heard her real voice.
it's her real voice, she puts it on a bit in the show. who would choose that voice, she even said it herself 💀

She was in Saturday Night Fever, when she was 20, dancing w/ Travolta right before his big solo scene.
If only they knew then how big The Nanny was about to become...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ FRAN DRESCHER on Letterman, he should have given her more time after all she's the STAR.
Yea he kind of interrupted her and ended abruptly.
It’s commercial tv from the 90s. Gotta cram all those ads in there even if it undercuts the interview.
