I thought I had just 2 more payments on my largest credit card bill… I was wrong. 🤦🏻‍♀️

    I'm working through my debt payoff. For me, I'd do payment plans for medical and keep your savings. If you don't have to pay it off at once, I'd do payments. Never know when an emergency will come up and you wish you had that money in savings.

      @@rachelsmith6194 that’s a really good point - I’d be nervous to not have anything in savings. I just hate having the debt hanging over my head. It’s a process tho… as long as I’m chipping away at it! Thanks for your thoughtful comment. 🦊💰🫶🏼

    Hi Claudine! 🤗 Great job paying it off this week! Woot, woot! 🥳 My personal opinion is don't deplete your emergency fund. I do not know if you are doing Ramsey or not for the amount of the Emergency Fund, but if you are I say, leave it alone. If you aren't though and have quite a bit more than that, then I would say leave $1500 in your savings and use the rest to start paying it down, or pay it down to where you could leave that in your account and pay of the rest all at once. Ultimately though, it is how you feel about it emotionally and how you feel about not having anything for a while if something comes up. If the bills are eating at you and causing sleepless nights, it might be worth it to you to pay it off. For example, I would have sleepless nights without at least a couple of months expenses in my savings accounts. So do what makes you feel good about it. 💙

      Elaine thank you for such a thoughtful comment. I agree, so much of that kind of decision is emotional. I appreciate hearing your thoughts on it. Having someone else’s perspective is usually really helpful. I hadn’t really thought about designating a certain amount to keep in savings - I sort of looked at it as “all or none”. I’m still considering my options but you’ve definitely helped me think thru this! 🦊💰❤️ Appreciate you!

    I wouldn’t deplete it, but depending on how much you have maybe using half of it would be an option?

    • @FoxyFinances
      @FoxyFinances  Месяц назад

      I agree, I’m just not comfortable using all of it. But I think half might be reasonable. 🦊💰🫶🏼
