The one thing I'm a little unclear on when it comes to croc, would Dante have come and kidnap the gobos even if Croc was not there? Cuz I know the king saved you from Dante, but was he there because Croc was there, or would he have come and kidnapped the gobos regardless of whether or not croc had arrived? I honestly never thought about this before, and I'm pretty sure that Dante would have come no matter what but it's interesting to think about
Tank controls are underappreciated. Two months ago, I've been giving the PS1 Tomb Raider games a second chance because my miserable first impressions of Tomb Raider 2 and its reputation made me lose interest. I finished the first game and really enjoyed it, so I moved on to Tomb Raider 3 which has become one of my favourite PS1 games. The tank control feels so natural in that one to the point where I started to realise how much potential they still have as a control scheme for certain kinds of games if done right. it's responsive, fast, fluid and has the right weight to it. That and the level design feels like a great blend of the first 2 games. The game has its moments of being frustrating particularly in the London and Antarctica levels, but it feels less reliant on the awful enemy placement and combat of the second game. The Last Revelation is good as well, but 1 and 3 are my favourite Tomb Raider games for now.
I agree to be honest, everyone normally goes on about them being bad and I feel like a lot of the time they aren't given a chance. I really need to replay the original Tomb Raider games, I remember liking the first three a lot. Why didn't you like the second one? I feel like the Tomb Raider games are almost 3D representations of a cinematic platformer with them featuring a somewhat realistic human who only has access to moves an abilities that a regular human could possess. The tank controls sort of add to that because they make your movement really deliberate and weighty just like in 2D games like Flashback, Another World and the old Oddworld games. I don't remember much about The Last Revelation or Chronicles at all to be honest. In fact I'm unsure that I ever even finished either of them...
I'll go into detail about the second game another day. I'll be creating my own website soon which will be me looking at British Media or foreign Media with a British perspective. The first reviews will be the old Tomb Raider games and I'm thinking of doing a retrospective on Harry Potter since I grew up with the series. I'll give some thoughts. Tomb Raider 2 to me strayed very far from the original in favour of combat gameplay and the combat is easily the worst aging part of the early games. I recommend giving Last Revelation a try. Pretty good game and it feels like a return to form with its strong focus on raiding tombs.
That's awesome! Let me know when the website is up and running and I'll check out your Tomb Raider reviews. That would be a good idea taking a look at the Harry Potter series, what would you be talking about? The books, films or games? I agree with that, Tomb Raider 2 had a ton of human enemies whereas the first had practically none, so it was a lot more shooty in that way. I'll have to give it a go again! I should really just play all of the PS1 ones because it has been quite a while now!
It will be books, films AND games. It will be a Wix website since my experience with it has been very comfortable and fast. I don't know when the review posts will be up, but I'm debating it will be some time during the summer holidays, maybe after. I'm looking forward to making my own website especially since I don't have the money to get proper recording equipment.
Nice, you're going into a lot of detail then! That's a lot of stuff to cover! Yeah, I've used Wix a couple of times and it's been pretty good in my experience too. I look forward to seeing what it looks like when it's online! I started my game reviews on a blog that I made and then eventually delved into making videos, then I enjoyed the video side a lot more and it became the main thing I do and I don't use the blog anymore, so maybe you'll eventually go down that route too! :)
I have actually very, very briefly played that before, but I don't really think there's enough there to talk about as a full on review. There are a ton of other Disney games I eventually want to take a look at though, the PS1 Toy Story 2 game being the primary one. I have really fond memories of that!
I completely agree! The fact that the levels don't remember that you've got all of the coloured crystals previously is really annoying too and it makes the ghost races even worse!
Looks like an exciting game, although it looks like something between Super Mario, Sonic and Crash Bandicoot, it has pretty interesting elements, such as different level design, puzzles and so on. The main issues of this game, in my opinion, are the boss battles because they look cheap, easy, also kinda boring, and the defeat animation is... meh. :D. The door section where you are actually forced to replay the game because you entered the wrong doors is just a pretty weird game element. P.s. Nice new apartments. :)
It is a good game and a little bit of a forgotten gem. Yeah it's quite a mix of different styles to be honest and there's not really any other game I can think of that's entirely like this. Yeah the bosses are pretty lame which is a shame because they really let the game down. Oh jeez, that door section was really frustrating because that particular level is quite long as well, so having to replay it because of bad luck was so, so annoying at the time haha! Thanks :) It's a whole house that I've bought and I'm really happy with it :)
I currently just work at a pizza place, so nothing fancy haha! I do plan on looking for another job soon though. As for affording a house, that was only possible due to me and my girlfriend saving up for years and gradually building up the funds. Well, that and getting a mortgage of course! :)
This was a solid review! Most I've seen of this game tend to try dunking on it, so I appreciate one with a bit more of a positive take.
Thanks! I really don't know why people are so negative towards this game series all the time. It's really under-rated, especially the second one!
Congrats on the move!
Thank you! I’m really happy with how we’ve got things looking!

Thank goodness the remaster has modern controls
Lovely review Rob, hope you return to streaming soon again :D
Thanks for watching! And yeah, I plan on streaming more regularly in the new year. I've been wanting to get more into streaming for ages now!
@@PixelPursuit Great looking forward to watching a stream from you again 😉

You should review the 2011 Game Disney universe For PS3 Xbox 360 & PC,
but Xbox and PS3 is the only console that has DLC and it has lots of it

Pixel Pursuit oh ok
Great review. So glad you mentioned the ghoat race levels. No one ekse seems to mention it, but its definetly the worse part of the game
