It’s possible but when you’ve only ever been from the streets it’s not as easy to integrate and find your place in society. Add in criminal charges and a very public case, you have a recipe for disaster in terms of proper employment. It’s much easier for these guys to take a risk and continue what they know vs overcoming a ton of dissonance and challenges while everyone and everything they know and understand becomes past life while they’re still living and surrounded by it. Takes a very disciplined individual to want to overcome all that temptation for easier vs right.

You got proof they they done it...You shouldn't have to depend on a snitch to get him. You bought your case & didn't get it justly;based on that which can't be proven. You want him so bad. If you know anything about the system, you know 15 years probation is not a “sweet” deal. It’s a set up, a trap, a cruel joke. Put people back into their old environment around all the same people, places, and things - then expect them to not even run a stop sign for 15 years? 😑
Some people would rather do 5 years than 15 probation. They need mandated therapy / counseling to address their trauma and reframe their world view, not the illusion of “freedom” via probation designed to lock them back up anyway 😩
It’s all about conviction rates, public posturing and proving points …. Not so much “justice” or rehabilitation. 🤷🏼‍♀️
