Awesome video, at 27:22 you type "values under 12:1 are generally considered safe for 93 octane with aluminium heads, boost only, no intercooler" tell me senpai, what if I upgrade that to 105 octane (re85-biofuel) and water to air-chargecooler, how high of a final compression ratio could I go? 13-1? thanks in advance!
This gets pretty subjective pretty fast, but at that octane I think you would be okay. Internal engine physics get pretty complicated based on many factors like head design, piston design, quench, and so forth. Best way to know what works best is look around for similar builds and see what they are running. I actually think you could get more than that potentially. I know a lot of guys running pro chargers on stock internals and getting as high as 8 psi on pump 93. It works for short bursts on the street, but probably not something that would hold up if pushed hard for longer. I’ve seen those combos run successfully for quite a while. The video is meant to make you aware of the physics and make you consider limits that many don’t think about it. In an effort to avoid giving bad advice, I kept the numbers very conservative for obvious reasons. If stock LS1’s hold up with 8 psi pro chargers I’d doubt you’d encounter too many issues with your intended setup. It also depends on the purpose, because I wouldn’t recommend that stock setup to go through a racing season either, however, that too has been done. It’s a cheap setup to run, but anyone that does that is also aware of the dangers running that, because it’s considered the cheap+fast build lol. That leaves reliability out of the equation.
Great video! Question. Is Procharge a brand name or the proper name for the device? (Kind of like how Jet Ski is actually a brand name of personal watercraft, yet everyone calls every PWC a jet ski)

Procharger is a brand name. It's just one of the more well known and popular ones. It's like saying Whipple in the PD world.
