That looks great! I never thought about lighting this kit. Incidentally, I've been building this and the three other Zentraedi starships simultaneously for my own channel. It's nice to see someone else building this kit, and the choice of colors.
I only just recently found your channel and subbed! Great diorama, I now look forward to binge watching your older content and seeing what new creations you make in the future. Great job!
I have also built this kit in the 1990's and think you did an outstanding job. I remember my kit comming with an extra Exador figure miniature. Anyone else remember that?
@@EagleSciFiModeler The lower hull colors were pretty close. It's just the upper hull color was way off. Probably should have done the oil wash before you decaled and gloss coated.
To give an idea of scale -- The SDF-1 Macross is supposed to be 3/4 of a mile long. The Zentraedi flagship (Breetai's vessel) is roughly 2.5 miles long! Yeah, ridiculous! I don't know why sci-fi does this. Most ships in real life are less than 100 ft long with most ships being well under 1,000 tons! We've built supercarriers up to 1100 ft long (85,000 tons+) for roughly 65 years but they haven't changed shape or dimension much. They're the largest practical ships for their use as a mobile airfield. There just hasn't been any point in building them larger! The largest ships are actually tankers and those like Knock Nevis's class generally have not been successful ships; they're just too large for most purposes and don't pay off very well. This business of 1,000-3,000 ft long ships in sci-fi is ludicrous! They're just not practical and the energy requirements to move them are enormous. Improbability drives indeed!
Yes, scale is off the charts! LOL. The cityscape looks cool, though it probably should be much smaller. The SDF-1 did pack a small city from Macross Island inside it so some of those buildings in the city would be miniscule compared to both ships.
Possibly my favourite build to date.
Wonderful work and I can't wait to see the larger craft project being realised.
You're the BOSS!
Thanks friend!
Awesome build! Thanks again for the shout out! Keep up the good work
You're welcome! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks! I'm on a bit of a Robotech kick...I'm working on a 3-foot-long version of this ship!
These models were not seen frequently. Very Cool diorama.

Thank you! I appreciate the support!
That lighting is sick.
Thanks!
Very cool project, love the sense of scale with the city below
Thank you!
Very nice!
Thanks!!
I have this one, made it 30 years ago… time flies
I built it years ago myself..it was fun to build it again.

The officer's name was Commander Dosul if I remember. He was Admiral Gloval's arch-enemy throughout the first Macross series.
Breetai is the name of the character pictured on the box.
You showed your face! That collection is clutch...
Lol.. I did... thanks!
very nice.
Thanks!
Interesting!
The city below makes it work.
The model was so small, it needed something to give it scale.
I do need to build my kit of the Zentraedi flagship.
The plan whenever I do my Flagship is to use Olive Drab for the top and Neutral gray for the bottom of the hull.
I wasn't totally happy with how my colors came out.

That Zendraati flagship made the the Macross look like a Veratech...
Love Macross! Fantastic work! Can I ask what settings you used on your FDM? That cityscape looks fantastic.
Thanks, I believe I had it at .02 layer height at 50mm a second with 10% infill..
You needed an alien tongue to read, let alone speak Zendraati.
Sick. Sick sick sick sick.
Thanks🙂

Gotta fire the Main Gun for a minute to fry that Not-So-Jolly-Green Gigant...
Commander Bretai
Ah...yes indeed!
@@EagleSciFiModeler I too watched Robotech as a kid too.
Even though that ship never entered Earth's atmosphere, this turned out really nice!
