God, that was just heartbreaking. Those glimpses of the Rapunzel from the movie, how happy and hopeful she looked compared to the Rapunzel we have now makes the situation all the more tragic.
The way Eugene tried to reach rapunzel even when he was literally dying 😭 and what makes this even more sad is that throughout the song rapunzel kept seeing glimpses of the sweet, innocent person she used to be but she kept either turning away or tried ignore that image but flynn was the one who was able to not only stop rapunzel destructive power but snap out of rapunzel bitter sadistic persona but the time he reached her the damage was already done…

Its not until the end where she admits "and ill keep wondering/when can my life begin?" With her past self looking at her in concern. Showing she *still* doesnt feel in control.
I love that, as much as Flynn is afraid of her, and with good reason, NOT being afraid of something isn't brave, that's STUPID, but he keeps reaching out to her anyway. He cares for her. I don't know if HE knows he loves her, but he does know that he doesn't want harm to come to her, or to the people of the Kingdom who are, at most, villains by unknowing inaction, and even THAT'S a stretch. Rapunzel has every reason to lash out, she's heartbroken, angry and bitter, but, she's not a bad person. I think that, even in this Villain AU, the darkness of rot and decay can give way to the darkness of a soft, cool night, and, eventually, to the warmth of dawn. I don't know if it WILL happen, that's ultimately up to Lydia, but, Rapunzel in this is as much a victim as she is a villain. She deserved better. But will she accept that, if she gets it?
Well, she just realized who she really is, so she might go to confront Gothel, and (best case scenario, but not really) kill her "mother". Of course, that's up to Lydia.
@_lilyofthevalley_ not necessarily. Victims cease being the victim when they take their hurt and give it back to the world. A villain is what happens when a victim lets the despair and anger embitter them to the world instead of having hope. A monster is a villain who inflicts suffering for enjoyment. Some monsters are born from victimization. But no matter how you spell it, villains may have been victims at one point, but now they are the ones making victims. The difference between a hero and a villain that were victims is one decided that the source of their victimhood is not what defines them and uses that as "what not to do" whereas the other make that trauma their defining trait and takes their trauma as "what to do".
Bro I’m actually gonna cry bro, in the first song she wanted revenge and went to look for her mother who gave her the moon stone to end Flynn. But Rapunzel is still scared and confused because she isn’t the type to kill she’s only doing it because she believes so hardly that she is being hunted by others which is why she breaks down OH MY POOR BABY GIRL😭😭 Also on the last chorus of wondering instead of harmonizing it sounds like the back vocals are taunting her which just shows how she’s breaking down internally.
It's the fact that she constantly sees images of herself and that they remind her of the girl she used to be when she's singing "and wondering" part for me that made me almost cry
I appreciate Flynn's effort to still get through to Rapunzel even as she's destroying stuff. He's telling her "Hey stop this is not who you are" and she looks like she listened because she sees what she has done and seems to be having second thoughts
@@thepixilator9593good catch! Didn't notice that before. With that in mind, I think it's a bit of both. He just saw the plants surrounding him wither away before his eyes. And her now black hair is a stark change from when he last saw her. Freaky shit is clearly going on, and that's cause for worry, but the first thing he feels upon seeing Rapunzel is relief and joy. It's her, she's unharmed, free and not locked in a tower. That's reason for relief. He was probably on his way to go and find her when, to his perspective, they serendipitously cross paths. Hell, he may have even thought she was coming to try to save HIM (he doesn't know what happened to her since his capture, doesn't know what she's been told). He likely only escaped mere minutes before. So, in that moment, he was probably feeling a cocktail of joy, relief, worry, and probably a lot more.
This version of rapunzel is so tragic 2:36 To know that that she fell into the wolf’s clutches anyway just hurts, but the end gives me hope that Eugene can help her regain that hope of hers that died all that time ago
That is how this scene plays out in the show as well. Before the moonstone is discovered, Rapunzel sings the decay song and it outs her into a trance of sorts while destroying everything in the process. Flynn is the only one that's able to snap her out of it
I love how all your villains arent just evil for the sake of it, they genuinely have a good and believable reason and just a small change to the story makes it all make sense even for the characters we have seen in the original movies
With all those flashbacks to how happy she was at the end, I kinda thought the last line was going to be "wondering what could my life have been" as if thinking to what could have happened if she held out hope and love, which circles back to the actual ending of the movie which really makes this a possible alternative ending. This is wonderful.
OK! I will be the paragraph guy for this wonderful story! Basically in Lydia's version, Rapunzel NEVER figured out that Flynn hadn't betrayed her, never found out that he had been framed. Poor Rapunzel just kept leaning on her beloved Mother...as Gothel slowly planted the seeds of distrust in the bright young girl, until she was no long Rapunzel. She had more hate in her now broken heart then even Gothel herself. After Flynn's execution kept getting delayed and delayed for MONTHS, finally he managed to break free, as the rumors of a deadly moonstone came across the kingdom. He tried to reach Rapunzel...but by the time he did, it was to late. For Gothel, in all of her hatred for a world that had cast her aside, gave Rapunzel the Moonstone, and sent her fully transformed daughter--no, monster--into the world. Edit: TYSM for 1K likes!!! :D

After reading the story i feel like when Repunzel learns the truth things will get worse and Mother Gothel will regret everything Since it mentions that Mother Gothel is the only person she has left and to find out that she can't even trust her own mother Eugene doesn't know she's broken now, this revealation will break her even further where she thinks she can trust no one except herself
I think since mother gothel has been with her for so long and has been with her for her lows, i think Rapunzel will be more hesitant to believe even though she's less naive
God the love the way the wondering part for this song is lengthened for longer just truly showing how much Rapunzel has actually spent wondering when her life will stop being this hell and begin. And god i wanted exactly this ending of Eugene being the one to calm her down even after Rapunzel truly believes hes the one who betrayed her
Very beautiful and tragic song, as Rapunzel is a villain not of any circumstances but of lies in her ear. The toxic influence of Gothel brought her spirits down low to being bitter and pessimistic. She may not be hopelessly naive anymore, but now she is naive without hope. She's gone from being willing to trust everyone to trusting no one else but Gothel and it will harm everyone as Gothel continues to manipulate her, Rapunzel most of all. Rapunzel is falling into deeper pits of despair as she throws away all trying to reach out to her, spiraling into madness as visions of her past self keep trying to push themselves to the front. However, even with all that, we see Flynn/Eugene still trying to reach her. He doesn't care if she's gone mad with vengeance or is unleashing all sorts of magic spikes. He loves her and will reach her no matter what happens to him because he will not leave her alone again.
It's one of the best parts of the song. You can't really tell exactly what's going on in her head, you just know that she's confused and isn't sure of anything anymore
I love this and how it adjusts the way the ending went. It shows how much Rapunzel cared for Eugene and how his betrayal hurt her, even if it wasn't what it seemed. Becoming a villain over a misunderstanding caused by people trying use her and separate them makes this more tragic, especially for Rapunzel who, even if she learns the truth of that moment after the lanterns, will be haunted by her actions and those she hurt
Queen Amaya's Villain Song Amaya has the most reasonable reason to become a villain, she sees the man she loves become corrupted by magic and straight up turns into a complete madman. Her Villain Origin can take place either after King Magnifico's descent into madness or at the end of the film since she'd have access to everything in his Dungeon.
I don't know why, but I imagine that if there is a third part of Rapunzel as a villain, I imagine that both Finn and her would be fleeing from Corona because of the chaos that Rapunzel had caused. They had to escape but first they had to make a stop with Mother Gotten for a last confrontation.
0:33 'I know what I've seen' resembling rhe fact she 'knows' Eugene left her just shows how far she believes Mothwr Gothel (hope i spelt it right), but i also love that throughout the song she looks at how happy she was and is constantly trying to flip the card, but at the end she couldn't help but actually realize like 'What the hell am i doing..?' like those last 'wondering and wondering's were full of fear and confusion, and jt was clear she wasnt in control. I love this so much its my favorite
You knew that the song was going to be intense since it didn't show the title until the end. The visuals, the lyrics, THE HIGH NOTES! All of this was absolutely chilling!
If we’re getting part twos for songs, can we PLEASE get a sequel to “Fall, Little Wendy Bird Fall”? That’s my personal favorite and I would LOVE to get a direct sequel to it…eventually
MY FAVORITE PRINCESS!!! I loved it! You should definitely do a villain song for Sofia the First where she's older and realizes how much of her life she gave up to become a protector as a child!
I like this idea. All the stress from being a protector and keeping up a brave face while the amulet takes her to other princesses who need her help. Could be an alternate world where she never erased Vor and when the pressure became too much later on she relied on the evil spirit.
This was AMAZING Lydia!!! It conveys the emotional toll of Rap's manipulation and how, even unintentionally, she still fell victim to what she wanted to avoid. And seeing her stopped in the end only for it to be too late is so powerful since it symbolizes how even if she was stopped from destroying everything fully she still was too far deep in the pits of her despair and manipulation to be able to reach back out and fix things. But she's not irredeemable yet. She can still be saved like broken things can be fixed and it gives the ending a small bit of hope that, unlike the other villain princesses/heroines we've seen she can still be redeemed and break out of this cycle. Edit: I also realized that this actually stands a part from the Cinderella song since Prince Charming tried to fight/kill Cinderella for his own actions pushing her to that end while Eugene did nothing wrong even if Rap thinks he did, and even then he fights to save her just because he loves her. Eugene actually loves Rapunzel and wants her to have a chance whereas other prince characters were a victim themselves or became antagonistic when threatened. It shows that Eugene truly has the heart of a hero, that he cares for Rap more than just a means to an end and shows that they've swapped in a way. Rapunzel became cold and only looked out for herself and willing to do anything for her goals while Eugene became more optimistic and almost naive in a way, only looking to help.
The Decay and Black Rock incantations were such a cool detail that didn't need to be added, but I'm SO glad they were, I really need to go back to watching the series
Man, using “When Will My Life Begin” was uncanny yet strictly *INGENIOUS,* but the ending left me genuinely shocked (in a good way, of course), that Eugene/Flynn managed to stop her! 😮 Great job once again, Lydia!!! 👏😁
I love your songs. Mother Gothel came off as an evil mastermind here, who predicted everything but Flynn xD I love how he throws himself into helping her despite his fear.
“This dying world my canvas, I’ll make works of art” CAUSE SHE’S AN ARTIST THAT’S SO BRILLIANT!!! I never thought “when will my life begin” could be so epic but you did it. From “I will wait until my life begins in the light” to “I’ll take my life for my own, even if it has to be shrouded in darkness.” Amazing!
This was so good!! I like that he finally got through to her in the end, I hope that he'll be able to tell her the truth and she'll know who really hurt her!
Eugine and Repunzel have one of the healthiest couple dynamics of any Disney princes couple. You see them learn and grow together as a couple in the movie, but especially the show. They dont sugarcoat it, they show the good and the bad. And the two become even better through it all. It's honestly refreshing to see the amount of work put into their story. It isn't just "happily ever after," there is more to it. I love that so much
I really loved the ending bc Rapunzel managed to snap out of it instead of eliminating Eugene and the whole Kingdom of Corona❤😊 Surely it's interesting to see the princesses as villains but Rapunzel is the only princess who didn't reach the end of her evil goals ❤❤❤
I love how Rapunzel is the only one who remembered what kind of person she is - and snaps out of it. Now she and Egune can talk about all of this - and she still can return to her life as a princess since no one really get hurt, only buildings damaged by her magic + she still has her magic healing hair
The best bit about this is when Eugene is trying to get to Rapunzel, in my head I could hear him screaming “blondie” and that makes me love him even more for some reason 0:54 IS THAT THE SMOLDER-
Ima need a part 2 sis this is gold. I like how you maintain a young woman voice to indicate rapunzel identity crisis which most people start to have at 18 not knowing what to do with their life and the fact that she pushes forward refusing to revert back to her naive/childish self despite but Eugene trying to snap her out of draining her own life (her hair) from herself and possibly himself since their was an ep where her hair can suck the energy from others.
Beautiful! Stunning! This brings me back to the Tangled threads on /co back when the show was on. I really appreciate your decision not to make Eugene's betrayal genuine, and that really turns up the tragedy. Watching the most angelic princess turn into an event horizon of shadow over a misunderstanding breaks my heart.
I love that Rapunzel gets a chance at rehabilitation and Eugene doesn't give up on her! She's such a tragic, broken villain, and unlike most of the others, she really doesn't find any form of satisfaction or victory in it at all. Her evil beliefs and desires aren't hers, they're Gothel's. For as awesome as the evil is in this series, it feels immensely cathartic to end with hope and a more idealistic attitude this time. She needs that hug! She needs ALL the hugs!
Damn Mother Gothel (?) looks so evil in the background while Rapunzel looks she's gonna go kill someone. Edit: 215 LIKES?? This is the most I've ever gotten. Edit 2: Damn 217 likes Edit 3: Holy- 225 likes- Edit 4: Okay- 237 likes?? This is the highest. Edit 5: Okay okay, how did this comment get the likes so high???
@@3a_cousins971 it proves just how much of a monster she really is. She steals Rapunzel away just to keep her youth in check and abandons her own daughter in the process. She got what she deserved.
What hurts me the most is that at the end it looked like Repunzel was scared of actually truly losing herself. And even confused as why Flynn threw himself on her. Deep down inside she still cared, I know she did, and now I'll go lay in bed and cry.
@@davidvaldezjr5546 She doesn't know that's her kingdom, in Lydia's story it stats that this takes places months after Flynn was captured. She went right back to Gothel and stayed in the towel being spoon-fed lies all that time.

Oh man this was great, the ending really hit hard as repunzel and euegen have always been my favorite disney couple, also the tangled series stuff is cool
I love to interpret as this second part ending maybe Rapunzel still has some goodness in her heart And maybe after finding the deep truth of everything Her origins, her real family and Eugene’s real self instead of a “wolf” maybe the story will still revolve just like normal except some things change Gosh I just love your Villian stories Lydia There’s so much stories that can and could happen and making these songs just builds more ideas of what if scenarios
Love how the first round of wond'drin' and wond'drin' is triumphant and angry while the second round becomes so panicked and overwhelmed. Amazing touch.
It seems in the end Rapunzel snapped out of her trance and saw what her actions did. I wonder if she can ever learn the truth of what Gothel did, will she go after her next? Great song, the ending is my favorite part!
The use of both things from the movie and show really make this awesome! I mean, my jaw dropped when I saw the Moonstone. Anyway, everything’s so great about this: the lyrics, vocals, art, and the music. Spectacular!
I love this for rapunzel. The flashbacks of her being happier compared to the darker version of her self. The transformation is great and reminds me of the hurt inaction from the tangled series. Overall I love this and how Flynn still tries to reach out to her and help rapunzel through this and In the end is able to get her calmed down and under control ❤
You already know I had to come here for my favorite magical princess. The symbolism of her activating the moonstone over the Sun symbol is so chilling.
Wowh I loved this how you also involved the moonstone from the series too it's really cool!! And also very sad I just love it when Eugene hugs her to calm her down even though he's dying from the inside the decay effect is really harmful as and example check out cassandras hand when she touched her it's truly scary this version of tangled is really tragic tbh
@YourLocalCabin7 cass and varian trying to help her would have been even better, Like Cass tries to get through to her by their shared pain from gothel
You know, I wasn’t sure if this would be able to recapture the magic of the first rapunzel villain song. That one was what introduced me to this channel. I clearly see that I was a “sweet and dumb child” because you knocked it out of the park again.
I think what I love the most about this song is not just how EPIC it sounds (especially "Well, I vow never to be that again. If it means losing me to make sure of your end, then I'll dive into hell and I'm bringing you too!") but rather the emotion there is to it. I really admire how it really seems you're hearing Rapunzel-- not you-- _Rapunzel_ singing, how it works with the animation and especially, the desperation and anguish you can hear towards the end, in that final "-and wondering, and wondering, and _wondering,_ and *_wondering!"_* Simply amazing. Keep it up!
Love how at the very end, she just realized who she actually was and didn't have time to process that and everything with it when she sees the damage at the kingdom.
So, I literally just finished tangled because it is my comfort movie and I love it so much and now I am so happy that when I opened yt, not only one of your videos came out but it’s about rapuzal. Love you and your music so much!💛

This is the first time ever in this series I want the Princess to not be a villain. Flynn, get through to her! You didn't abandon her! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA This is SO GOOD!!!
Eugene’s last attempt to reach Rapunzel, even as he was dying, is heartbreaking 😭. Throughout the song, she glimpses her former self but turns away. Only Flynn, through love, breaks her dark facade. But by the time he reaches her, the damage is done…
This was better than I could have ever hoped, this is wonderful and everything I hoped for! The way she's hurt, and broken, and Eugene is STILL trying because she might think he lied to her, but he didn't and he still loves her.
Im supper excited! I can't wait! I can already tell the animation is going to be Hella good! I love rapunzel so when I saw the first villain song you made for her it made me so happy I'm so excited to hear the beautiful song you have gifted to us!
CAN I ADD TO THE LORE?!? Mother Gothel had 18 years to perfect her lie about the floating lights and her being the "lost" princess. Finally, the lie had its chance to come to light. "Oh my dear. It is so sad, really. They used your magical hair only to heal the queen. It worked, but were so frightened of explaining magic to their people that they just left you in a floating basket in the river. I happened to be picking berries and heard the coo of a baby. I am so lucky to have found you. You are the daughter I always wanted. Those lights? The king and queen claimed to have lost you in birth to save the queen. I had hoped to spare you the heartbreaking truth. I am so sorry." With this new piece of heartbreak that she was "used and abandoned" by her real parents, Rapunzel is beyond hope of reason.
The series is back!! And this time Rapunzels not just got it out for Flynn…

This version of rapunzel is so tragic
2:36
To know that that she fell into the wolf’s clutches anyway just hurts, but the end gives me hope that Eugene can help her regain that hope of hers that died all that time ago
I love the ending here. Eugene calms her down with a hug.

Cuteeee.
That is how this scene plays out in the show as well. Before the moonstone is discovered, Rapunzel sings the decay song and it outs her into a trance of sorts while destroying everything in the process. Flynn is the only one that's able to snap her out of it
@@Valorian6167 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@Valorian6167 Man, their relationship is so cute.
"if it means losing me to make sure of your end then i'll dive into hell and i'm bringing you too" them lyrics genuinely gave me chills
It looks like she REMEMBERED who that baby was in the end and realised what Gothel did!
Eso fue la película original acá en lugar de atacar a su supuesta madre adoptiva la verdadera madre de Cassandra atacó a su propia familia

After reading the story i feel like when Repunzel learns the truth things will get worse and Mother Gothel will regret everything
Since it mentions that Mother Gothel is the only person she has left and to find out that she can't even trust her own mother
Eugene doesn't know she's broken now, this revealation will break her even further where she thinks she can trust no one except herself
Didn't she die in this version?
I think since mother gothel has been with her for so long and has been with her for her lows, i think Rapunzel will be more hesitant to believe even though she's less naive
I think that is going to happy right after the ending, at the cost of Finn's life.
Yeah I agree 😊
What gets me the most is the fact Rapunzel returns to destroy the same kingdom that wished for her return every year 💔
So are we just not gonna talk abt the quiet little “when will my life begin…” at the end
I mean we CAN.
It's one of the best parts of the song. You can't really tell exactly what's going on in her head, you just know that she's confused and isn't sure of anything anymore
@@yay29823 She looked (& sounded) scared of what she became after seeing what she did to her own kingdom after realizing who she really is.
Queen Amaya's Villain Song
Amaya has the most reasonable reason to become a villain, she sees the man she loves become corrupted by magic and straight up turns into a complete madman. Her Villain Origin can take place either after King Magnifico's descent into madness or at the end of the film since she'd have access to everything in his Dungeon.
Yes I like your idea 😊❤❤
I love it pookie!
True, she's already the villain of the film, all she needs is a song to match
@@deshawnedwards6412 That would be an ode to what she was originally going to be in Wish, Yes Magnifico wasn't the only villain in Wish originally.
I don't know why, but I imagine that if there is a third part of Rapunzel as a villain, I imagine that both Finn and her would be fleeing from Corona because of the chaos that Rapunzel had caused. They had to escape but first they had to make a stop with Mother Gotten for a last confrontation.
I can imagine that, too. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure Flynn's last act here was...well, his final act. Like cutting her hair in the movie.

MY FAVORITE PRINCESS!!! I loved it! You should definitely do a villain song for Sofia the First where she's older and realizes how much of her life she gave up to become a protector as a child!
Yes I like your idea ❤❤❤
JUST AMAZING!! Love your voice, Lydia!

Also Mother Gothel looks so evil in the background 😈👀
I really loved the ending bc Rapunzel managed to snap out of it instead of eliminating Eugene and the whole Kingdom of Corona❤😊
Surely it's interesting to see the princesses as villains but Rapunzel is the only princess who didn't reach the end of her evil goals ❤❤❤
Lydia, Mapletea, Bugssmittien are literally the Disney princess villain creator trio made in heaven I SWEEAR
I love how Rapunzel is the only one who remembered what kind of person she is - and snaps out of it. Now she and Egune can talk about all of this - and she still can return to her life as a princess since no one really get hurt, only buildings damaged by her magic + she still has her magic healing hair
The best bit about this is when Eugene is trying to get to Rapunzel, in my head I could hear him screaming “blondie” and that makes me love him even more for some reason
0:54 IS THAT THE SMOLDER-
Ima need a part 2 sis this is gold.

What hurts me the most is that at the end it looked like Repunzel was scared of actually truly losing herself. And even confused as why Flynn threw himself on her.

Oh man this was great, the ending really hit hard as repunzel and euegen have always been my favorite disney couple, also the tangled series stuff is cool
I love to interpret as this second part ending maybe Rapunzel still has some goodness in her heart
And maybe after finding the deep truth of everything
Her origins, her real family and Eugene’s real self instead of a “wolf” maybe the story will still revolve just like normal except some things change
Gosh I just love your Villian stories Lydia
There’s so much stories that can and could happen and making these songs just builds more ideas of what if scenarios
Lydia’s doin part 2s now?? oh this gon be good 🔥
The use of both things from the movie and show really make this awesome!

I really admire how it really seems you're hearing Rapunzel-- not you-- _Rapunzel_ singing, how it works with the animation and especially, the desperation and anguish you can hear towards the end, in that final "-and wondering, and wondering, and _wondering,_ and *_wondering!"_*
Simply amazing. Keep it up!

I am so sorry."
With this new piece of heartbreak that she was "used and abandoned" by her real parents, Rapunzel is beyond hope of reason.
