Not only would Gohan have been disqualified for even getting involved, but the power that a Super Saiyan holds could have killed that dude. And Videl isn't really completely in the right either. She had multiple chances to back out of the match, even the announcer recommended it. Hell, the second Goku noticed how Spokovich was fighting he immediately said that Videl needed to forfeit immediately. But she didn't. And like it or not, it's still a tournament. So since Spokovich SOMEHOW didn't violate any guidelines for said tournament, Gohan would be branded as wrong for such an action. If you actually wanna get mad at Goku, then the scene when he's supposed to be getting Senzu beans for Videl but stops at Corrin's to eat first is a good place to start. That shit had me HEATED.
I think that this scene is not the most appropriate for both the "Goku was a good dad" and the "Me miss Z Goku *Bubbles noises*" arguments. Mostly because it's a single scene
