It is my pleasure :) I am also making them for this thanksgiving dinner!! Great minds think alike 😁 let me know if you have any questions:) Happy thanksgiving:)
It is my pleasure:) nice meeting you. Inshallah I will try to keep you posted with the good-authentic Lebanese cuisine and all in English ☺️ will do! Please keep me posted on how your recipes turn out 🤗
I learned of zatar in Brooklyn, Atlantic Avenue. Please consider making this in your shorts. Many thanks. The world is a better place when we share food.😊
It is an amazing blend to have at hand! Definitely, if you like it spicy! Let me know how you find it when you try it in food! You can use it in marinating chicken, steak, making broth and in salads!
I made a cream sauce with 1 C almond milk, 2 T butter , 2 T flour and added 1 big tsp Lebanese spice to it. Then poured it over cooked mixed vegetables and black beans. Put that mixture over quinoa. Delicious. Thank you for the Lebanese spice mix recipe!!
India garam masala too is a mix and match of several spices look for videos and do try it out and yes will definitely enhance flavour in almost all veg and meat recipes 🤗 great job
there’s another mix we use for chicken shawarma . you can google that or just buy a bag ready made spices for chicken shawarma . Abido brand do good mix spices , thier kofta is very good i always just buy it and add it to the minced lamb or bees with onions and parsley and you can get a very tasty kofta which you can do whatever you want with it . make it into meatballs with potatoes in tomatoe stew ( very famous) or make it into kebabs or put it in oven
I will be having grape leaves on next week’s menu then 😃 they are much easier than you think and wayyyy more economic than those present at Whole Foods and restaurants:)
it is different not just from region to region but also from period to period because the manufacturers will change their recipes based on the prices of bulk spices. in my opinion the mix in this video most resembles what we used to buy in the supermarkets in Lebanon in the 1990s. Some recipes do not include Cardamom. Some recipes actually have nine spices and they add Allspice and White Pepper. In my opinion the most important ingredients to get that mediterranean flavour is the cinnamon, Cardamom and Cloves. So I don’t like when they don’t put Cardamom in Seven-Spice.
Thanks Nour, sounds great. Never did it before. Had only at the libanese restaurant. I imagine the bulgur cooks itself in the marinade. How long do we wait before serving?
I usually do not wait because I put very few bulgur that absorb the juice right away. But it tastes even better if you refrigerate for about 30 min before serving with the bulgur at the bottom of the bowl😊
Thank you, I bought a Lebenese cook book but it only use salt and pepper for most recipes. I want a Lebenese flavor to my dish. Is safferon used only in rice?
I am lebanese martedì to an Iraqi . Iraqis use a lot of spices beautiful aromatic food but ya lebanese actually don’t use alot of spices . I feel that we rely on the natural flavours that come out from the ingredients. for example we use a lot of coriander in our stews , mostly coriander with fresh garlic ,it’s very tasty and very distinct and sometimes we use a tablespoon of pomegranate syrup to finish off a tomatoe stew, it gives a slightly sour but nice flavour and deepens the tomatoe flavours and gives a kick . I mainly season my chicken and lamb dishes but with vegetables we don’t use a lot of spices 🙂
Mashallah.. sorry sister I just wanted to ask, do you know which flavour do you use for chicken shish?... thank you so much in advance. I have subscribed

Hello, what I added here is the white one present in grocery stores, which is the bleached version of the green ground cardamom.
Can i used for shawarma?
DEFINITELY :)
Is it black or green cardamom?
It is just ground powdered cardamom. So there is only one kind in market in the powder form :)
Sonia John , green cardamom powder.
