    I like the cats at the end and only the first sample was bad. I'd go with the second option since it works well in your room and situation. Plus it looks professional.

    Congratulations on finding that AT headphone / headset combo. It’s very difficult to find a headset that doesn’t sound like a call center or a pilot, and you did it. I went and searched for this video specifically because I’ve enjoyed the voice quality on your videos. on 87 vs SM7B, I think you can hear a little too much room reflection on the 87. Like you said those sound great in an expensively treated studio but they aren’t so good at rejecting reflections / room noise like the sm7b can do.

    Thanks mate I needed this video for our podcast. Would you recommend needing to plug the Audio Tecnica into a mixer or is there a way to go straight into your laptop and record through garage band and still sound good?

    • @aaronshortmusic

      It will need an audio interface. They also make a USB version that can plug straight in!

    Aaron, I'm going to get the Audio-Technica BPHS1 as your demos have made me a believer. Which basic (but decent) EQ, or other devices do I need to go with it? Thanks!

    I agree that the Audio-Technica BPHS1 sounds great on your voice and for speaking applications. I think the Shure 7b sounds good for podcasts and on some singers, but I had to put a lot of EQ processing on the 7b when I was singing and it did not complement my voice. I use a LEWITT MTP 350CM with windscreen which sounded good for podcasts and singing on livestream. I did have to put EQ and multi-band compression for livestream singing for when I sing in higher registers

      I think the headset is the best way to go in noisy rooms. I may even try it for singing…

    Hey thanbks for the video. The Audio-Technica BPHS1 sounds great for the use you're describing. I'm looking for a headset for a client to record podcast content without an audio interface that they can plug and play via USB. Will this unit work like that with a mini jack to USB adapter?

      I’m doing a very basic podcast with someone and we are both remote. I work in a warehouse environment and need a headset that can plug in to my computer. I’m using a gaming headset call the Steelseries Artic 7 but it really doesn’t sound good. Would the usb one you’re using now be better ?

    Will the Pro8hex be usable on live singing performance? Can EQ improve the tone? Anyone knows?

      EQ can always improve the tone. I’m not sure I would use it live but it would work.

    11:33 Then you should try the BPHS2, which is based on the ATH-M60x headset and they offer it with either a cardiod condenser, or a dynamic microphone that's just a little cleaner than the BPHS1's dynamic.

    to be a good headset for podcasting you need a replaceable battery and a efficient mute command on a manual switch

    • @aaronshortmusic
      @aaronshortmusic  4 месяца назад

      I don’t agree I prefer cabled and a mute switch can be added in line if needed. Also I can’t find better. Let me know if you have something I should try.

      @@aaronshortmusic in a way I could see why someone prefers a tethered headset because the mute command is more reliable... my old gaming headset had a nice manual switch that clicked when put into mute and anything that requires batteries and doesn't allow you to replace them is a piece of crap

      @aaronshortmusic  4 месяца назад
