Casmo, first off, great content on the AH-64D! You've greatly help me understand and merge into it's platform. If at some point you have a few moments to spare, could you explain the pros and cons of noe/a and possibly which situations would require the use of it pertaining to DCS? Thanks for the awesome content and keep up the good work.
Casmo. Dude. That 9999 laser limit for storing targets. Is that REAL? It's SUCH a shame you can clearly make out targets without being able to get good coordinates on it!!! :-( Thanks for the continued updates.
Great job. Thanks Casmo, but I think I missed something: At the end of the video, you lased the target and the other pilot hit the target. That's simple and great but why didn't it work at first try?
ʕ•́ᴥ•̀ʔっ another countless skill for this fabulous module, that's a real C3 node, request TACAIR strike from F-16C, CAS aircrafts A-10C(9-line) and CCA rotorcrafts AH-64D(5-line).. just only one thing missing here is FA battery(CFF).. of course if the ED DEVs would like to make a tiny update to the CA module, especially the SPG M109 (with Mils ₥ 🧭 interface in Azimuth/Elevation and add COPPERHEAD projectile with the ability to put the 3-digits PRF code). a terrific full integration man
Well produced and highly instructive content for aspiring AH flyers in DCS. I stepped out of the fixed-wing closet to discover my true love: helis. Question: I can no longer find pre-recorded streams in your Twitch channel (except for highlights). Is this by design?
What do you think of the way the Apache flies now? Feels like the trim system was off before. FM seems like it is in-between the KA50 and Gazelle now. Hover hold seems a little too good, or does it actually hold you in place like you put the game in active pause?
@@CasmoTV Just feels really smooth now. I commented last night to my friend, that it felt really easy now and he thought the same. Just felt like the trim system was tweaked. More responsive is probably a better word.
I have yet to have a successful missile defense, seems like it takes took long to get the chopper moving to turn and dive. I know it's pilot error lol. Would love to see you do a high level video on defense strategies, obviously not asking to reveal sensitive information. I know you have mentioned don't hover as much and use terrain where you can, and I've tried that but my basic mission with 1 SA-19 is kicking my a$$!
SA-19s are a bit of a beast, at least in DCS where they never use their radar to guide. They have 8km range on missiles, and so do you. I killed one once in a Ka-50 by popping up and then hiding again once he shot a missile, then just killed him once he was out.
What I've learned playing so far is it depends on the weapon you're defending against - radar or IR. In a heli especially, terrain masking is all around the best thing do to since it physically puts a barrier between you and the missile, and breaks any radar locks. Against radar guided missiles you want to notch it to break the lock, chaff, or have the missile's terminal guidance slam it into terrain from your dive. Against IR you'll want to flare and pray to the gods. If you have eyes on the launch and need a hail mary, it's sometimes possible to jank the cyclic and dodge. TOW's are relatively easy to defeat, just outmanoeuvre them. Sometimes if you're at the edge of their engagement range it's possible to just 180 and outrun the missile. LOAL will help you reduce your exposure time to enemy radar and get a hellfire on target before they can launch. Hope it helps!
Hey casmo, thanks for your content. A question I'd appreciate you weighing in on. There's lots of footage of Russians and Ukrainian helicopter pilots "lobbing" unguided rockets in. I'm assuming the reason being creating stand off between them and the intended target. Did you ever train for this? Is it a known tactic or is it something thats evolved in this current conflict due to the high anti air threat they're facing? Thanks for your input

"Don't dump the collective" .... :-))
“Put some rotor systems into the tail” RIP -60M
You can see that you know your stuff, with the way you handle that CPG seat. Thanks for your service.
Really appreciate the highlights reel!
It'd be nice to be your pilot. This one had me pucker as he did yourself.

It's real. The laser is a beam of light and the further it goes, the wider the cone becomes until it is unusable for getting a good reading.

The real Hellfire works like advertised about 80% of the time. There might be a failure variable built into the game.
Great piloting.
crazy colors behind casmo...too bad formation lights arent as colorful... that way you could know who is where at night
Did I hear my old bud Unleased on the comms........!!???
Casual Precision :)
@CasmoTV is it possible to laser targets for fixed wing aircraft like the F16 or 18 while in the CPG seat with in DCS ?
Yes

Twitch doesn’t keep them there for more than a couple weeks I think.

I think it was better before the update. The real Apache tho is rock solid if you get it trimmed right or use the hold modes

just found out youre George!
Maybe George plays Casmo…

A song as old as time.
