    Very helpfully! Do you know if it writes the date to Apple Health also?

    • @CoastieOutdoors
      @CoastieOutdoors  2 года назад +1

      Hi LtShaq, in fact it does! The connect app automatically integrates with Apple Health and gives you "credit". I really appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment and support the channel. I would be honored with your subscription if you have not already. I hope you have a great day!

    hey man.. i have the garmin instinct solar.. why i am seeing these spikes in my moving speed while running when i am not running at those speeds? the fluctuation is wayy too much.. is it because of gps tracking issues or something is wrong my speed sensor or whatever does the speed tracking?

      Hi Adit, thanks for your comment and support of the channel. I have actually been in contact with Garmin based off of your comment, and you nailed it. They use the gps feature to measure distance and speed in a simple equation. They have had issues in the past due to the reliance of gps on a satellite which was having an issue. They have since corrected the issue, and updated our watches via the connect app. Let me know if it happens again and I can try to see what's up. Thanks again and I hope you have a great weekend!

    What if you created the running plan with Garmin and I want to view it on the watch? The warm up, run, and cool down?

      Hi Edgar, thank you for your question and support of the channel. I apologize for the delay, your question is a good one and I looked up some solutions. I believe the best way to accomplish this would be with the lap or auto lap feature for your run. Each lap will then represent a different section of your run. These laps do not have to be equal. I hope that helps and you have a great day!

    I need help with regards to this app while running. During a run, at some point ( I don't know why these points are choses), the watch vibrates and the screen changes and shows 2 times. The first time the watch does this during the run, the 2 times are the same. Then, about 15 minutes later the watch vibrates again, and shows the 2 times again. The smaller top at the top, is the total time, so this makes sense. But the big time, I do NOT KNOW what this is representing? I have no idea. It's not my pace because it's way too high.

      Hi Fake news, thank you for your question. It sounds like that is the lap feature letting you know when you have completed another lap. This is customizable and it sounds like it is somehow set to over 1 mile. Mine is set to 1 mile so I see my pace at the same time as the "lap" trigger. I hope this helps and you have a great day! I would be honored with your subscription if you haven't already.

    How do you get out of the running app and switch to a different activity

    • @CoastieOutdoors
      @CoastieOutdoors  2 года назад

      Hi GangsterGrom, hit the upper left button to stop the running activity. Scroll down to save or discard, and then select the upper left activity button again to get your list of activities. I hope that helps and you have a great day!

    Will it track my run if I just running without having to do anything ?

    • @CoastieOutdoors
      @CoastieOutdoors  2 года назад +1

      Hi Ray, without activating the running app, the Instinct will track your steps and other data such as heartrate, but it will not actively track your route or run. I hope that helps and you have a great day. Thank you for your support of the channel!

    It’s very hard to quit current activities and get back to the activities list

      Hi AC, that is definitely a frustration for me too. I believe they have redesigned it in the instinct 2 version and I hope it is now better. I hope you have a great day!

    How does it read the heart rate without touching your wrist?

      I think he Is using a sensor in his chest

      Hi Jimbert, thanks for your comment and support of the channel. It is my understanding that the three green lasers on the back of the watch are able to penetrate your wrist to return data back to the watch. I hope that helps and you have a great weekend!

      how i understand it is the sensor is a kind of very sensitive motion sensor that is able to measure the small pulse of a capillary moving just under your skin.

    Does anyone find the calories read as burned during exercise incorrect or off?
    I’ve only done the strength training so far.
    I’ve had the garmin instinct for 2 days now, and the calories seem to be reading pretty low (compared to my previous Apple Watch).
    I’m an experienced weight lifter / bodybuilder, 180lbs around 15% BF. When I trained today, for 90 minutes, my calories burned read 490, when on Apple Watch, would read around 750-800 (which seems more accurate. HR was pretty consistent between 100-150.
    I never entered any reps or anything done, as I track that with my log book.
    I just want something really to track my heart rate, calories burned, and time.
    Maybe the Apple Watch could be wrong, but when I inputted these stats into a calorie burned calculation, given my stats, it said my estimated calories burned were pretty bang on to the Apple Watch.
    Anyways, I’ll leave this at that.
    Just wondering if anyone is experiencing anything similar, or if there’s certain settings I can adjust to get a more accurate reading (p.s I already have my stats entered into garmin connect)
    Thanks
