I will note that the instinct 2 also include the PacePro pacing strategies which was for me a huge plus for running since you can plan your race pace in advance. Also the 2 version now support incident detection, so those In my perspective definitely something to take into account for long distance runners.
Would you recommend the instinct 2 or the forerunner 255? I lift 4 days a week. Run about 15-20 miles a week. Plan on hiking a bit more. Also do some CrossFit circuits
@@ChrisCooper0 the instinct 2. It's mostly about looks really. Both watches do like 90% of the same things. If you want the nicer screen go with the 255. If you want the battery life go with the instinct 2
Thanks for this. There are so many Garmin watches. I have an old Apple Watch and I’m thinking about getting a Garmin. What would you recommend? I just want standard running tracking features (distance, splits, times, heart rate etc etc) and I don’t like really big clunky watches.
The first garmin instinct altimeter was terribile, because the sensor was contanct the skin. Garmin instinct 2 change position about sensor, i hope it better than the instinct 1.
They could have incorporated all these running features especially VO2 max in the earlier version. Why did they have to withhold them and put them in 2?? Those who got the previous model are losers??
@@Anthony-jx6fz No, but Fenix 6 came out 3 years ago, and all this functions are on Fenix 6 and on some cheaper models from 2019. This are not new features that would be worth paying so much money.
@@Filthysvk because if all the features of the fenix 3 that at the time were premium features no one would buy the instinct?? Thats like giving an iphone 13 the same specs as the iphone 13 pro and then selling it at the cheaper price as is now

Absolutely. The new Instinct is much better geared up as a running watch than its predecessor
Great review! If not for the Epix 2 arriving on my doorstep sometime today, I would consider giving this one a look 👀
I think that’s why they delayed the Instinct 2 launch a few weeks after F7 and Epix 2!

GOOD QUESTION
I’m deciding between those two models. What did you go for and do you recommend it?!

@@brettbrunsell5769nice thanks for replying. Will bear that in mind
Thanks for the thorough review!
Great review! I presume 'Strava segment' feature is missing?
I saw the Fenix 6 is on sale right now. What would you recommend… the F6 or instinct 2?

Take a look at the forerunner 245 series. Not as feature heavy as the fenix series, but has HR, and all the timers you could want.
@@gregbrown3082 many thanks.
Does it gives you current pace while running or do you have to wait till ur done your run to have the pace in the history chart?
all garmin watches give you the current and average paces. in fact, ann gps watches do that.
Is the physical glass size the same on the Instinct and Instinct 2? Just thinking of screen protectors!
Beware, the Instinct 2 Solar has a dome shaped screen, it's not flat!
Thanks for the video 👍.
Do you have to have the garmin app open and running all the time on your phone?
nope, if it's like the instinct1. Garmin connect app is for syncing and reviewing your stats
Hi thanks a lot for the review ! Could you please compare the barometer/altimeter between the instinct solar and the instinct solar 2? Thanks a lot!
Instinct 2 or Venu 2 plus?
I wish they made an Esports Instinct 2.
It has a gaming function...
It gives the speed in the wrist?

1:07 which colour is this? graphite ?
3:47 Have you guys already managed to put a big scratch through the glass?
1:36 - Fitness Age - seems like Garmin puts everyone the same fitness age and % of population
im not really digging the bezel redesign of this. maybe it will grow on me with time
Bro got a clock on the wrist 😂
I like version 1
All these functions should be on previous model. This are not new functions. It is scam, only to take money.
