Can I Fix this Exile for Sega Genesis with Open Cart Surgery?

Exile is one of my favorite games on Genesis. I bought this for cheap knowing it wouldn't work just to see if I could get it working again. Wish me luck!

You can just buy a battery holder to make it easier to swap out batteries without having to resolder the battery back on.

I'm installing a battery holder on my games, pretty simple and fast to replace the battery than

Some Sega Genesis games used different narrow width mounting pads for the batteries and are difficult to install a holder on . Most will fit battery holders just fine , the narrow ones you have to run jumper wires or get creative to mount it .

Playable without battery to save is TRUE. I have a loose Earthbound with bad battery, unavailable, but it still plays. I have yet to bet it continuous playthru

Pretty much every dollar store sells those CR2032 batteries. They aren't anything special. Never knew they lived inside these old cartridges.

the circuit board usually specifies. Sometimes they do. These didn't.
