    I just did a piece that I did the same thing you did, adding a little dark wax here and there on the flat surface for a natural wood look, and it turned out great. Then I saw this video. ☺️

    I loved the final results! But I have a question and hopefully you can help me understand. Doesn't all furniture neeeds to be sand to get the glossy finish off so that the paint will have a good surface to “grab” onto. I only see you sanding the parts that you applied the filling to. I saw your video titled nightstand Makeover/Furniture Stripping and refinishing. Can you please explained why in that nightstand you removed the finish coat differently? Was that necessary? I want to paint my bed too, and don't know if I need to sand it all before applying the paint or to leave it as it is. Thanks

    Looks great; thanks for posting. I have my son's off white convertible crib that I was going to paint a different color as full bed because I thought beige might not be ideal as he gets older...thinking I might just keep it👍

    Looks great!! Surprised you didn’t do it with paint. The dark wax always makes me nervous!! I’ve had to strip it off too with mineral spirits when it didn’t turn out how I envisioned!! Jackson is a cutie!!! ❤️

    How does the palm brush treat your wrist? Certain brushes kill my wrist and it will hurt for a day or two after painting a piece.

    Good job as always.... Perhaps next time in another project like this, you might use the vacuum hose attached to the orbit sander instead of the bag, probably would help you some.

    Hello, Christina!
    I love your channel and your amazing energy! Thanks soooo much for all of your hard work!
    I have a question about a dresser that I am painting. I sanded and primed it with two coats of Kilz 3. I want it to have a farmhouse distressed look. Can I do that with dark wax like you did in this video? I started by painting the drawer fronts with Rustoleum chalk paint in flannel gray but I didn't like it so I painted over them with a duck egg blue which gave them a beautiful rich color. My intention was to paint the whole dresser in that color but since using the blue over the gray I'm thinking about painting over the white primer with a creamy white and then using dark wax over the top. How can I make the overall piece look distressed with a mellow and natural feel? My husband was expecting gray and now it's totally different... Any tips on which products to use to finish up my project? I have Lowe's and Home Depot nearby.
    Thanks for your time!
    God bless,
    Monica
    Ps I'm not sure how to attach a photo for your reference. Sorry!

    Thank you for this video! I’ve painted a desk with the help of your video :) I have a question though-I didn’t sand the desk of the previous black color and now the previous color is peeking through as my husband keeps accidentally placing items on it and it gets nicked-what would you recommend to help with that?

    Looks great.. in which I'm not surprised :). I didn't see you needing to add water to paint and or brush unless I missed that. Is it different with that paint? I haven't tried yet, but may soon.

    Absolutely beautiful! I just redid our dark king sized bed in Annie Sloan Original White. Unbelievable how much it lightened the whole room! I also did some wall shelves a couple of years ago using Coco and dry brushing dark wax on top for a wood look. It was super easy and turned out amazing. I didn’t see you using water to thin your paint this time. I always use water so I was wondering if maybe the reason you didn’t was the Dixie Bell paint. I’ve started using more Dixie Bell paint so I wanted to know if there is a trick I’m not aware of. Lol Also, any time I use dark wax over a white or Old Ochre color I always mix my dark wax with clear wax for a cleaner result. Thanks for another great video! I’m going to have to try some Zibra brushes! That square brush looks like a time saver.

    • @ChristinaMuscari
      @ChristinaMuscari  4 года назад +1

      Most quarts of furniture paint cover 150 Sq. Ft. I usually use half a can of paint for a dresser with 6 drawers- hope that gives you a better idea to estimate for your project!
