  • Tonight I'm sharing my kitchen table makeover !
    This project was definitely different than anything I've done before but I'm excited that I followed through and tried something new.

    •gloves
    • 4 foam sponges
    • kilts chalk paint ( platinum ring)
    • polyaqrilic ( clear satin finish)
    • waverly chalk paint white
    •waverly chalk paint mineral
    • waverly chalk paint elephant
    • apple barrel brown nutmeg
    • paint brushes ( I use Walmart's 3 pack)
    • cheap .79 paint brushes for the painted wood look

      Yes exactly! I just showed how sometimes you can have a vision and it doesn't go as planned so I always encourage not to give up just to start over fresh 😁

      After you sand your project, use a wood conditioner on your project, before you put the stain on

    Great job, we just picked up a table like that at a moving sale for 20 bucks and we also got a dark finish sleigh bed that I'm going to refinish both like this.. Thank-you so very much.

    So my woodworker brother gave me this tip...after sanding, use a wood conditioner. Dry and then apply your stain! Will help with blotchiness and streaky. He says this happens a lot on cheap wood/pine/manufactured pieces. Thought this would help for next time

    When you mixed the paint it looked like poo or chocolate haha sweet to see you letting your daughter help. Wow it actually turned out cool. Top of table looks like a waterfall

    Hey there how well did you have to sand everything as we have the exact same set of chairs and the table. And also what grit did you use to sand? Your table and chairs turned out pretty awesome.

    Spray wather on the brush,and also on the paint,it is easy to paint then😉

    I watched this video months ago and something you said has stuck with me ever since. You said "You cant stop midway, you have to finish. Because your looking at all the flaws, you have to see the end result" Girl, when I tell you I think about that saying ALL THE TIME!! I'm a hairstylist and a crafty crafter lol and when I tell you that saying pushes me through EVERYTHING!!! And when I came across this video again and heard you say it I had to let you know. You never know what little things can effect someone

    Man at first I was so sad when you covered over the first stain and was so not a fan of the chalk paint. I was not seeing the potential but man that Final product was beautiful! Awesome project.

    I am refurbishing an old wood truss table that was giving to me! I went to walmart yesterday and got everything on your list. I bought the white kilz paint instead of the platinum ring and ivory, steel, and walnut on the Waverly paints. I've never repurposed furniture before but I've always wanted to. Your video gave me the confidence to do it...I appreciate you. Your table came out GORGEOUS BTW!!! Thanks!!!

      Find a good used Table and refinish that one. You be surprised what you can buy for $50. or less.

      That was my first thought. The table will camouflage directly into the floor. A cobblestone or mexican slate tile would contrast beautifully. How are you at laying tile?

    Ive seen similar colors of dinning sets in furniture magazinez but its the actual wood design. I couldnt afford the actual set but my heart has been dying to figure out how to do it. Yoir video is LITERALLY an answered prayer. Lol You just made a subscriber out of me.

    if you use a wood conditioner after sanding, the stain comes out a even color. Just something to consider if you want to try a different project with stain. I found it really makes a difference.

      Julie Carter This is a random question but it if I’m not using a stain, should I still be using a wood conditioner before I use a finish on a raw wood table or does that not matter?

      @@AvsFan32 if you're using paint you don't need wood conditioner. It is a base for stain.

    I recently bought the Platinum Ring paint and your project is the second one that I have seen to show the beauty of this paint color. I was a little hesitant b/c of how blue-grayish it is but OMG, I am in love with this color. Thank you for showing how to tone down the blue hues and swing it more in the gray area while illuminating the beauty of the color all at once. I love your DIY ADHD!!! I am the same way when it comes to changing my mind halfway through a project...EXCELLENT JOB!!!! I love how this project turned out.

    Love the way this turned out! To me, the solid grey looked cold so your decision to add the greys and nutmeg made the set look warm and cozy. Great job!
