Natalie: "Wait, it's all daddy issues?"
MCU Fans: "Always has been."
Well, you’re not wrong!
This is so accurate, it hurts.
And not just for these 2 either......hell not even just daddy issues, so many in the MCU have family issues (T’challa, Tony, Peter Quill, Gamora, Nebula and finally Thor and Loki, I think that’s all of the MCU family issue characters unless I missed some) lol.
@@reasonablekinda2269 lmao, that's what made me make the comment to begin with. I was thinking "Oh yeah, Thor and Loki really do have daddy issues." Then I was like "WAIT. The entire MCU is filled with daddy/family issues!" Literally can't make it up xD
@@reasonablekinda2269 I think we can include Betty Ross, Hope van Dyne, and Hela, as well as honorable mentions to Cassie Lang and Morgan Stark too.
"Loki, why are you doing this?"
Because he's a drama queen. Even Thor is a drama queen, to an extent. But Loki is the most dramatic drama queen to ever drama.
I would say Loki is more of a full-tilt diva......
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It's a family thing...
After watching Loki this is even more accurate 💀
"The vibe I get from Thor is very like classic Greek god"
**Sad Norse noises**
"doth mother know you weareth her drapes?"
Well you have to admit Thor is as egotistical and gloryhounding like we often see Greek Heroes and Gods act as.
Yup.
I came here to comment on the same thing, but mine was a facepalm instead of sad noise
Poor viking heart
A large part of the driving force of the MCU is driven by Daddy Issues. Tony has them, Thor has them.... StarLord has them, Gamora has them....
Black Panther, Ultron, Hela...
And mom ,uncle issues
Hulk has them in spades.
Michael Corleone, Luke Skywalker, Marty McFly, John Conner, Buzz Lightyear, etc...
And Nebula, don't forget Nebula.
Hawkeye: "You want me to slow him down, sir? Or are you sending in more guys for him to beat up?" Love that line!
that one and " You better call it, Coulson. cause I'm starting to root for this guy."
So many probably missed the irony of the 'God of Thunder' being electrocuted by a Taser.
To me the best and funniest scene in the whole movie.
When I saw that in the theater everyone in the audience laughed, except my brother. He knows very little about Norse mythology
@@chadfalardeau5396 I think most laughed because he gets struck down after saying his "...mighty thor... puny weapon" sentence, not because they made the connection.

Taika Waititi didn’t miss it. Hence Thor constantly getting shocked in Ragnarok.
That yell/growl from Odin at Loki was entirely unscripted, and Tom Hiddleston's reaction is real.
The best thing about the mcu, the actors had so much freedom and made the characters their own. Nobody could replace them.

Odin’s wife Frigga was a witch. She was the one who taught Loki everything he knows about magic and trickery
Maybe in the comics, certainly not in norse mythology where Odin's wife is Frigg.
I truly hate what the movies and comics have done to the mythos
@Atheos B. Sapien so evwrypne gets to be offended when their religion is used for entertainment except pagans??
Screw you
@Atheos B. Sapien I enjoy these movies, and probably would find the comics enjoyable too. It simply annoys me that a generation of people will believe that this has anything to do with norse mythology. Reactors often come with spontaneous questions during these kinds of videos, and I see nothing wrong with enlightening them.
@Kebz Well in the original Norse myth her name Frigga yeah. But as far as these films are concerned it’s Freya. Why they felt the need to change her name, I don’t know
"Is Loki in that man?!" - everyone's response to every marvel fanfic
"I have had a god inside my brain." I know this isn't the right Thor film but still seemed fitting
Oh my god
"I wasn't really invested in their relationship anyway"
Yeah, neither were they.
TBF Natalie Portman is not at her best in this movie - She was miscast in the role.
She is better in Thor: Dark World as she had a more active role but that movie had other issues {the villain}.
Kat Dennings however was brilliant in this and Dark World - It's a pity she hasn't had a breakout lead role yet.
The condensing of Thor's exile to Earth to just a day or two also really didn't leave much time for relationships to grow organically.
I still think this is one of the better MCU movies but it really could have done with being 20 minutes longer.
Stil better than her relationship chemistry with Hayden Christensen
@@skadoink1736 That's not too difficult :)

@@franohmsford7548 tbh the material in the prequels doesn't exactly help. GL is(was) way better as a story creator/producer, never as screenwriter/director. Natalie with straight hair? What sorcery is this? I don't care, she looks adorable even with a buzzcut 😍
Yeah, Thor's total confidence at being able to find a cat, dog, or bird large enough to ride, will never stop making my day!
Loki was such a deliciously complex character. One minute classic hollywood villain, the next staunch ally, then staunch ally with an agenda etc etc...you really do never know where you stand with him. Thor's determination to not give up on calling him his brother given all the shenanigans is one of his most endearing qualities. Also some of the best casting choices ever made in a movie. Idris Elba as Heimdall works so well - an inspired choice.
Loki, God of Mischief. Pretty much explains everything about him. He’d bounce between neutral evil/good depending on the day.
The scene were Odin is dressing down Thor, Sir Anthony Hopkins was so powerful in his rebuttal to Loki's interruption that Tom Hiddleston forgot his lines and they just kept it. Awesome moment.
Most of that speech was also ad libed by Anthony Hopkins. The director gave him creative freedom and he crushed it. Both hiddleston and Hemsworth both said it was a very emotional scene.
Tom Hiddleston wasn't apprised beforehand that Anthony Hopkins would roar at him like that, so his expression of shock was very genuine.
I'd say that scene was the most moving for me. That "You're not worthy!" gives me chills every time. The reactions were so great, and the guys look so much like reprimanded children. Which essentially they bare I guess.

Chris Hemsworth was actually helping his brother Liam audition for Thor but then he ended up auditioning himself.
Also, his eyebrows were bleached to make him look like a natural blonde. Yes, everyone involved with that decision regrets it.
I was wondering why that one closeup scene looked so odd!
They should have asked a "professional blonde" beforehand... I've been blonde all my life, so I'm quite pro at it, and i can tell you with certainty that my eyebrows have never looked bleached like that, but instead are rather dark-ish.
The best acted scene is when Loki yells "TELL ME!!!!!" to Allfather. chills...
Natalie took it upon herself to travel to the 90s before watching the after credits scene. Now that's dedication.
I was going to say 70s, would you stop making me feel old?
Gd I miss the 90s :/
My favorite line in the movie is when Loki yells at Odin "TELL ME!"
"I HEARD Thor is the god of lightning.."

Natalie, “Oh, I forgot.. Loki is a magician!”
Later that evening ...
Loki (addressing the Ice-Giants), “Pick a card, any card, any card at all...”
Ice Giant picks a card.
Loki says to write your name on it.
The giant obliges and gives it back to Loki.
Loki takes the deck and throws it at a nearby glacier, telling the giant to tell him if the card with the name on it is there.
Giant looks over at the ice, seeing a card stuck to it that reads "Twat."
Giant turns to Loki, who is already striding confidently away.
I absolutely love the whole Thor and Loki brother-not-brother dynamic. The two play off each other very well. Between Thor's noble naivety and Loki's mischief riddled heart it makes for great storytelling.
“How did you have two kids that look so different”
*marvel fans watching* 😳😏
@Tad Cooper in Myth Loki is more like Odin's brother than Thor's.
@Tad Cooper well yes. Not only is this a marvel property so it most certainly is a “marvel thing” but it’s so far from Norse mythology that calling it anything but a marvel thing is probably all the more silly.

Back when I was a kid my favorite comics were the Avengers, and Thor. The Thor comics always had a darker, very, VERY, otherworldly art style. I was rather pleased with they way they captured that with the first two Thor movies. (IMHO, Thor 3 was too campy, and not in the spirit of the comics - although I know it was easily the most popular).

Tony, Thor, and Loki are the only people with really noteworthy (if any at all) daddy issues that come to mind for me right now -- and your comment isn't even any less true for it considering how much happens that one or more of those three (directly or indirectly) was the cause of in some fashion.
And I guess in a sense you can add Cap to that list since Cap is the origin of some of Tony's daddy issues, since Cap knew Howard when they were both around the age Tony is in the first Iron Man movie.

Natalie: Wait? What? I am so confused!

Loki (chuckles): Seems I'm doing my job right.
Odin is so powerful that every once in a while, he goes into the “Odin Sleep”. It’s a way for Odin to “recharge”. Revealing to Loki that he was a Frost Giant was too much of an emotional burden for Odin, causing him to go into the Odin Sleep.

This movie is super underrated amongst the MCU films IMO
@@rso_media Thor is my favorite of the origin-story films for sure! My favorite MCU movies are Ragnarok, Winter Soldier, Infinity War, Civil War, Thor, and The Avengers (those last 3 are tied for their place). The Asgard and Jotunheim scenes in the first Thor feel straight out of a Journey Into Mystery comic, I love it. I wish Thor 2 had kept that same feeling... instead it feels horribly bland. I have a theory that many people's dislike of Natalie Portman in Thor is actually them projecting their feelings of her in Thor 2, like the romance and chemistry in Thor 2 was so bad it made people think it was ALWAYS bad. Loki is the only thing I like in that movie lol. I strongly disagree with people saying that Thor 2 is "skippable" though; the events in it are heavily referenced in other movies, I think it's necessary knowledge for a first watch.
I love Natalie, her laughter should be considered as the cure on depression

@Bartchello Yeah but Ramsey Bolton made him look like the Easter Bunny.
In the comics, Thor’s human alter ego was a doctor named Donald Blake. He used a cane, and when he transformed back into Thor, his cane turned back into his hammer.
It's called Meer meer
Funny story; You know how Thor used to speak in faux Shakespearean language in the comics? In the alternate universe story 1602 a bunch of Marvel characters were transplanted into Elizabethan England, i.e. Shakespearean times anyway. The Donald Blake in that story therefore already spoke kinda Shakespearean so the author, Neil Gaiman, pushed Thor's language even further back and had it as Middle English.
Which they kinda paid ode to in Ragnarok when he visited Doctor Strange and he disguised Mjolnir as an umbrella.
The end credit scene insert had me like, "Who is this chick, and what is she doing in Natalie's video?"
my cat was named Loke (skandinavian for Loki) and my dog Tor (scandinavian for Thor)
Loke attacked Tor and cut his eye so bad that he cut the third inner eyelid of Tor.
Had them separated after that, but their names was more fitting than i expected they would be...
Tor wanted to be friendly even after, but Loke always wanted to fight
This movie is under appreciated imo, and Tom as Loki is so great
It was nice of you to let your sister watch the end credit scene for you.
Still think this is by far one of the most underrated MCU movies. No one ever lists it among their favorites, but I enjoy the hell out of it every time. Also: Thor and Jane's relationship is one of the most healthy I've ever seen portrayed in a movie, since it comes from a place of them genuinely trying to help one another, rather than one being a prize for the other.

for reference, "Donald Blake" was Thors' secret identity in the early comics. At the time he was just a normal human who could take on the powers of Thor but at some point the writers decided "no; Thor is ACTUALLY the Norse god of legend and he's just kinda walking around on Earth with all the other superfolks."
It was December 1968 (six years after his Marvel debut). And they brought Donald Blake back in the 2000s as having been separated from Thor.

Yeah I love how quickly Thor's buddies found him. It got a belly laugh out of me.
Heimdall can see everything so he knew exactly where he was, so it makes sense but it's still really funny.
I just love Loki's angry speech to Odin after discovering his Frost Giant heritage: Tom Hiddleston CRUSHED IT!! (And I think that scene is a big part of why Loki resonated so much with the audience and why Loki still remains, easily, one of the top 3 MCU vilains on anyone's list! --And I would have said "top 2", but we all know that doing so always attracks that one jerk who'll insists that there are two or more better vilains).
Thor's friends found him quickly because Heimdal can see anyone in the universe at will, so he must have dropped them very near where Thor was. Also, Loki lured Laufey to kill Odin, but his goal was not for Odin to die: It was to have Laufey invade Asgard so that he would have justification in killing him and appearing like a hero to his people (Which is a form of "False Flag" operation, making the Frost Giants appear as the beligerents when it is Loki who wants war); subsequently, it also serves the purpose for Loki to kill his biological father and to justify (At least in his own head) the genocide of the Frost Giant and their world to erase all possible traces of hios own Jotun origins (No doubt that, had he succeeded, Odin and his wife would have been next to die to keep that secret hidden forever; alas for Loki, Thor intervened!)

mmhmm. if it was Greek it would've been Zeus I'm pretty sure we're talking about XD
@Stannis Baratheon Ok, I'm not an expert. But I meant it like "well known father and son"
in terms of most people knowing them (depends on who your comment was for). I do think that Kronos is not that well known in that regard. Maybe I'm wrong tho.
"how did you have two children that look so different?" ohohoho foreshadowing 😭😭
"You can't pull the hammer out....it's only Thor"
I'll stop there :D
The post credits scene was so powerful it knocked the curls out of her hair... Also, to get that reference, maybe watch Scott Pilgrim Vs The World sometime!
so cute when she's like "Loki what are you doing" like...HOH boy, you have no idea :D
Frankly, I kinda think fans can relate to Loki so much because Loki is the Jan Brady of the Norse mythology universe. "Thor, Thor, Thoooorrr."
Grats on 100k Nat. Found your channel during quarantine, been cool to watch it grow.
There's a day of the week named after him, that's quite a big deal.
Mom and Dad, too, but not Loki. No wonder he's pissed! 😝
And an uncle
