Call it lazy but i personally find it kinda fascinating how they managed to make every boss's one attack actually somewhat tricky to dodge and keep the player on their toes!

I've never heard about this game ... But I liked a lot of the soundtrack . And even for the Genesis, the graphics and animations looked so good !!! A thanks for Mr Pelo, who bring me here
This game had amazing concept designs and even more amazing music. It is a shame that boss animation was lazy.

Huh. That clock uses the slightly rare "IIII" numeral notation instead of IV... and then goes and uses IV in the VI spot.

The IIII was left unused. IV took it's place.
looks like they drew the graphic wrong (with the VI facing the inside of the clock) and then flipped it upside down.
Man after getting both eyes ripped out and his nose he will need an IV
A lot of games from then had psychedelic boss fights sometimes but this game was a trip altogether

My parents used to play it when I was 3-4 and the Moon just traumatised me. They told me I was a chicken, it's a relief now that I see I'm not the only one it freaks out!

+Soma Cruz Eh, I know, but all the same, I'm still amused by how in a game where you spend the majority of the time running around at warp speed and grabbing little rabbits, the boss fights are suddenly all about brutal pit fights with monsters that fill up a minimum of half the screen that you have to magically gouge out their eyes (and with quite the attention to detail in showing damage!) to win. =3

The bosses have really lazy attacks and animation, but hey, they have really good detail

One of your nightmares is Giygas from Earthbound
The spritework is pretty good, very fluid.
And f*cking terrifying. More so than games like dark souls in my opinion.
Especially the dragon's head. It almost looks like a pre-rendered 3d model
if the dragon was just a silhouette that would have been awesome

i'm so glad i was too dumb as a kid to get to the bosses in this game, i'd be traumatized for life.
also i can't believe how good this game is and the complexity of the mechanics... as a game developer, i can't believe those guys did such a complex game with complex collision detection, decentralized axis rotation, sync with a lot of parts moving at the same time along with such a beautiful art style for such an old and limited console. 10/10
game developers these days got everything to the point that almost no code is needed and still games like cyberpunk exists...

Well considering most of the people that made references to Undertale probably never seen nor heard of this game including myself and I grew up with the Sega Genesis. There are allot of games that I didn't own for that system. Undertale would probably be the closest thing to associate with this and now I can see why.

Dude, this reminds me of a brick breaker game I played as a kid, it had bosses too and they were kinda similar in design. I'm gonna have to play this with my sister some day. Also, the songs ARE AMAZING!! I can imagine some kid sitting in a dark living room with their face mere inches away from the screen, heart pounding, adrenaline pumping, palms sweaty (mom's sphaPeggy) and waking up everyone in the house when they shout in excitement when they beat the boss!
The moon leering at you is probably the creepiest part of this for me.
The snake....something about how big it is while still able to move so fast while being so stiff is unsettling

I came here because I was feeling nostalgic and I started playing this game online. I think that, when I was a child, I never reached any boss of this game and that is why I didnt remember it have bosses.
Im glad that, as a child, I didnt reach any boss level hahaha I mean, the game was the cutest, and I still love it so much for the cuteness and aesthethics. But that bosses would scare the sh*t out of me as a kid hahahahaha
