I work for Enterprise and we have a TON of these in our fleet. As much as people like to make fun of them, I definitely get why they exist and why the V6 Chargers make up more than 75% of the Charger sales (coming from someone that got drive a few Hemi Chargers). The point of the V6 Chargers is to be a highway crusier and a commuter for longer drives without needing 400hp+. 300HP and 6 sec 0-60 is not awful, I still manage to have fun with these V6 Chargers. Also, don't forget that the AWD is only available in the v6 trims, so if you live in a place where it snows, the v6 is really the only option for you.

I have a 2019 GT and have never once felt imposter syndrome. The V6 is practical. I'm not a racecar driver, nor are 99% of Charger owners regardless of the model they buy. The imposter syndrome thing sounds way more like an insecurity issue and those who feel it should probably work on themselves rather than just upgrading their car.

I've owned A Charger Scat Pack and a Charger GT. The GT makes a lot more sense. All of the trims GT and above look the same. My Scat Pack and GT had the same transmission and the same tires. The only difference is the engine and you pay a heavy price for power you largely cannot use. In fact, if excessive speed is your game, you can get a Tesla Model 3 Performance for less money than a V8 Charger and it's a Hellcat killer.

Most v6 muscle car owners have the same responses " gets great mpg" " I don't wanna go fast" " it's fast enough for me" " I can get a supercharger or turbos and be faster than v8" " it's all I can afford" ok I get the last one but it's gotta stop. If I had a v6 muscle car . I'd get some great subwoofers. Some decent wheels. Some tint and call it a day. Don't upbadge it and don't punch above your engine weight class and your gold

As a software engineer, I was in search of a powerful and sporty car that would be suitable for my daily commute to and from the office. After thorough research, I found that a car equipped with a V6 engine would be a great choice. V6 engines offer a perfect balance of strength, performance, and fuel efficiency, which aligns perfectly with my needs. Opting for a V8 engine, which is typically more powerful, is unnecessary for me as I won't be using the car for racing purposes. Additionally, the difference in horsepower between the V6 and V8 engines is not significant enough to justify the additional power for my daily usage or to spend more money

For me I own the older v6 sxt charger from 2007 with an aftermarket intake, exhaust, hood, and grill. As to why, it was a gift along with modifications! It was passed down in my family from brother to mother and now to me. I know it isn't a v8 but I feel sentimental to it as it was there for me since I was in middle school. After I successfully joined the military my mother gave to me unprompted and it was not in the best shape nor the worst. At first I felt intimidated by it since at the time I did not have a license and it looked unwieldly. Steadily, I grew attached to it, cleaning it up, learning about vehicle maintenance, and ultimately my time with it is what got me into cars and motorcycles. I'm pretty proud to have it as my partner in crime, and while I may not be rich, I hope I can keep it running for as long as I can.

In November 2017, I bought a V6 Blacktop Charger 2018, because there was a huge difference in price between the V6 and V8, here in Puerto Rico. I’m talking a 17K difference. Still, the V6 was enjoyable. It was comfortable and convenient, it gave 30mpg in the highway, which was great, cause I worked 26 miles from home. It was all black with tinted windows and it looked great. It had more power than my previous lumina, my 4.7L Tundra and my Celica, so it was the fastest I ever had. It had enough power to be quick and I ran it to a 100 mph in a couple occasions, so I enjoyed a lot. Then, someone hit my door where the “C” shape was and it never looked the same, even when I fixed it. I loved that car. Then I had a chance in November 2019, to buy a new V8 Daytona in Triple Nickel for MSRP, only 7.5 K more than the previous V6, and my payment went up only 4$😂. So I jumped to it, and I loved it, it’s just great, a big difference. Still, i don’t regret having the V6, as a starter Mopar. I beat the heck out of it and made all the mistakes on it. I’d say, if money is not an issue, go for the V8. There was the itch you talked about, but the V6 experience was not bad for me. Now I’m enjoying the V8. 😎⚓️

I bought the GT Hemi-Orange package about a month ago, and i love the car even though it's a V6. Reasons why i didn't get the 8...1: the dealership wanted $12000 more for the 8, I couldn't afford it and i will not buy used. 2: I can't see having all that horsepower just to sit in traffic on the highway and pretty much just wasting gas. 3: A friend of mine has a Magnum with an 8, and doesn't hardly drive it bc he has to fill the tank every couple days. Not to mention that they charge you a "gas guzzler" tax when you buy the car, and also as high as gas prices are now a days, i would rather save on gas too. It's got some pretty good get up and go for a 6 though, even though it may not be as fast, or pickup as much as an 8 would.

  • @bwofficial1776
    @bwofficial1776 Год назад +5

The Pentastar 3.6 is a good engine. It makes respectable power and has been in production for so long that they've gotten the bugs worked out. Full-size cars are almost dead but the Charger is for when you want to look sporty with your space. Yeah, the V6 GT is writing checks its engine can't cash but the 3.6 is a good commuter engine and not everyone wants a snarling V8 all the time. The old lady down the street from me has a V6 Charger.
Why would you ever turn the steering wheel paddles off though? Why is that even an option?
I love Dodge's racetrack taillights (when they work). I'm surprised when I remember that the 300 is still in production. Once everyone had gotten the old-school gangster car look out of their systems it's become the choice rental car upgrade.

    • @keonjenkins1852
      @keonjenkins1852 2 месяца назад

Yeah I agree. the Pentastar has always been a great engine. With Dodge products you have to take special care of them, not just with oil and filter changes, but with respect. Dodge/ Chrysler products cant take abuse like Toyotas and Hondas. As long as you respect your Mopar it will respect you just as long as a Toyota or Honda.

I currently have a 2014 dodge charger RT max all-wheel-drive since new. I have kept that because they did not offer all wheel drive with a V-8 after 2014 and I live in Iowa and it snows a lot here. The only reason I am getting rid of it as I have never had a problem with it is because this is the last year for charger (2023) and it is the car that my wife drives and she loves them. I had to order the V-6 to keep the all-wheel-drive. So the GT it is for me. If they offered the V8 and all-wheel-drive, I would have it again. She don’t care about the engine anyway and it’s less gas I have to pay for I guess.

First charger I owned was a 2010 sxt 3.5. I loved everything about the car, the look, the feel, but always felt it just didn't have enough power... told my self my next car would be a v8 charger. Last year I had the choice between a 2018 rt and a 2021 gt. After driving the gt once I was in love idk if its the extra 50hp compared to the 2010 or the 8 speed transmission but no part of me felt like it was "slow" unlike I did in my 2010 v6... yes the 2018 rt still felt quicker but fir the reliability of the 3.6 and gas economy I couldn't turn the gt down. Not to mention the body style and 20 " rims are to sexy.
Don't listen to this guy... if you are looking for a car that will turn heads and be able to still run down 90% of other daily driving cars on the road, while being a very reliable engine. I highly recommend the gt

In Canada this is 38k for 2022 used with barley any kms
Honestly I fell in love with this car AWD V6 I can't find anything with this specs full package 2022 for 38k
This is nicest looking sedan at least for me it's like a car that you can keep for long time without aging
Not to mention new cars coming out now all look so blend and so modern they age quick in 2 or 3 years or 4 years
These designs are the type when new cars come out you won't regret it it will always look modern and new and just unique
When I buy a car I just don't go for the tech I go for the outside design and engine some cars just age well
For example I have 2015 Jetta we bought new at the time still looks good doesn't age badly
I put 220k km on it and head gasket went and I changed the whole engine with everything for like 1800 and I kept same car and I'll be driving it for another hopefully 5 to 7 years used engine with 80k km was like 800 or 1000 my mechanic installed it all for 1800 total with engine
Head gasket and water pump were more expensive then buying whole engine and engine came with everything
Now never owned American cars only one owned was a Pontiac 20 years ago grand am and was garbage issues none stop
Now I know that was 20 years ago and Pontiacs weren't reliable
But I still don't know how these cars are I'm sure they are much better in 2023 and 2024 now days
If anyone owned one over a year or 2 and can tell me about comfort and reliability plz let me know
Also plz tell me about wind noise so comfort wind noise is somewhat things I look at as well I hate wind noise in my Jetta I can hear road engine specially when im on the highway horrible
I prefer this over V8 because I can get a AWD which is more then enough for V6 in Canada when snows hard I can use the AWD will be nice with nice winter tires even though doesn't snow much like before but when snows bad it's there for safety nice to have
Anyways I talked too much lol if anyone can give me an advice about these let me know
I do not need a V8 because I live in Toronto and it's all traffic unless people wanna show off also gas no all wheel drive
So this v6 is most practical for most people specially the AWD one
Anyways sometimes this year hopefully I wanna save money buy cash as financing here it's a rip off with high interest and fees and bs
I rather save money buy it cash and get a nice deal
I can't say enough about this car I fell in love with it seen it on the road I wanna own it so badly
If I buy one I'm definitely keeping it for 7 years if it lasts or more I don't think I'll get bored of this design and car
And if people wanna upgrade tech there is tons of Chinese screens for super cheap and look much better then new cars with all options and apple car play and android auto so that's an option I usually aren't worried about the tech as I can always upgrade for 200 or 300 bucks for something modern and way nicer after market
Thanks for reading and have a good day

Many people here on this video saying they don't need the extra power, or it's not much more have likely never driven a V8 Charger or vehicle. I had no hate for V6 cars or even this Charger with the Pentastar but he is right, get a V8 or you will regret it if you ever feel the power of the V8 compared to the V6. HP is one thing but torque is another and at almost 400lb feet on the V8 it makes a huge difference in pulling that weight around.

Looks good at least. AWD would have been an awesome option on the 6.4L to make its power actually usable for once. Unfortunately, in typical Dodge style they were too cheap to re-engineer an AWD option able to handle the torque, so that leaves us with an underwhelming V-6 that only gets slightly less $hitty fuel economy instead of good fuel economy.

I rented a car and didnt know what its going to be and was a little bit afraid of getting a corolla or smth (no offense), so they gave me the v6 model. I never drove a muscle car bevor and really like it so far because im driving in America the first time and its like enjoying americas streets like u are supposed to, but still its not that scary or smth. It sounds great, the interior and Interface, quality of steering wheel and the driving experience itself are really great and it looks just mean. I get why the v8 fits a dodge much better, but for a rental…. Love it.

I had a 2019 Scat Pack and it has more power than you can use if you drive like a sane person. It also gets terrible gas mileage, you have to run premium gas in it and the insurance is high. The GT looks almost exactly like the Scat Pack except without the middle school cartoon character on the back. Sure, you're missing out on some speed, but it's not worth anywhere near the difference in price.

Just bought one! turned down chargers in the past even though it was my favorite car that i could practically within my budget own... and well. its a heck of a lot better than my doddge fart that i traded it in for haha. i love it the 2022 v6. whats a v8? exactly... im the perfect owner for this car. I don't know what im missing or "lacking" im a 31 yr old chick who wanted a charger and got one. I grew up driving my dads Mustang with my permit... it felt like driving a toy tonka heavy.. idk. and this feels similar to his 2007 or so green shiny mustang when i was 15. the weight and controls at least... I have a lot to say about my new charger.. I love ittttt It sounds nice when I accelerate and sounds beefy enough. Im scared for winter snow driving.. good thing im by a highway.. I named it Elvis Presley and Elvis and I were made for each other. To me, the v6 is the coolest thing ever! My car has GT on the back of it?! like neat! I have a nice thing! Im not DE badging it nor pretending to be the v8 that i didn't even go out looking for. I went looking for a charger and i got one. Great video! thanks! sry for sloppy grammar yikes

Well I don't have a V6 anymore but during 2020 I was financing 2 dodge challengers. I had a 2011 V6 and a 2013 srt8 V8. I originally got the V6 first because it had a exterior colors that I like. It was painted gloss black with silver racing stripes. It had 75,000 original miles and I had a ok financial plan from a Chevy dealership. I got the V6 for several reasons. First reason was because of the price and payment plan. Second reason was because I wasn't interested in fast performance I was more into getting more mpg and still looking cool. I did add some performance parts to help with performance and better acceleration. In the end I was still driving a economy sports car and not a true muscle car. Then during the pandemic I went nuts found a challenger srt8 with 85k miles and in good shape. It was in a couple of accidents from the Carfax report but the used car lot had the car at a attractive price and payment plan that I could afford. And for a whole year and a half I had 2 different challengers. Finally in 2022 I got rid of the V6 Challenger and I daily drive the srt8.

Utah gets a lot of snow and I’ve owned an rt rwd before. It’s not fun in the snow other than drifting lol. I would consider a v8 if it came with awd, but it doesn’t and sadly out of the 5 cars I have owned this gt would be the fastest 😂😂😂 the price isn’t a factor it’s more or so the practicality, for me.

Gas mileage is also attractive and generally speaking its a FAST car, the only people that say it isn't fast are just fanboys and elitists typical known to compete in dink measuring contests. Nobody cares, drive what you like. The V6 Charger is a great value for the money and majority of the people couldn't tell the difference between the 6 or the 8

Also, there is nothing wrong with getting a nice car with a low hp engine. Not everyone wants zoom plus these cars help the dealers make money. For a channel that reviews old and economic cars, I didn’t expect a ‘feeling less than’ review
