Hi Shawn! We do have customers using this scanner outside for various applications. Just like most light based scanners, it does not work well in direct sunlight but is it pretty easy to use outside with a shading device. Feel free ton contact us at hello@peel-3d.com!
The peel 2 CAD scanner is essentially 3 things: a better volumetric accuracy, a calibration certificate and additional functionalities to transfer your scan data to your CAD software. Most of our customers go for this option as they find it quite useful in their application, especially in automotive tuning. That being said, some customers manage to do pretty well just with a peel 2, if you want to discuss this furthermore, I suggest you get in touch with us: hello@peel-3d.com
Wonderful work! Thank you for sharing Pavel!
Thank you for sharing, Pavel! Is there a replay of this webinar available? I'm a Peel 2 CAD owner. Thank you!
I'm interested in scanning sections of boats outside. Would this scanner do well for marine applications?

Whats the difference from the Peel 2 vs Cad version. If he can scan the entire body of a car why get the CAD version and pay the extra 2K?
