I will be starting my new career in Fukuoka from this march. As a complete stranger to this place, I chose to check out some videos about this city. Luckily I met this video, now i am looking forward its coming. Peace
Fukuoka tower looks like the sky building in Osaka! I'll have to go there next time because I loved the sky building and thought it was very relaxing too :)
After watching her videos for over a year now I feel like I want to experience the city all your round :p. If only I knew Japanese so I could get a job there ...
Thanks for your beautifully shot video! My grandfather was from Fukuoka, and I also visited there once for a day for a talk at Seinan Gakuin Daigaku, but I didn't get to see much else, so it was good to see a bit more. I also lived in Germany once, so it was fun to see the more "authentic"-looking Christmas market in Japan?! Happy Holidays!
Seeing this and the video on your second channel on Fukuoka really makes me want to visit. I will be in that area in January, so too late to see the Xmas decorations. But the city looks so pretty otherwise.
japan really make a great job in their lightings decoration. such a wonderful view.. currently japan is in one of my main list of places to go. i prefer nature view with some activities but sometime depends on trending like since it is christmas season ..lighting all that stuff obviously im on it. nice video as always micaela 😍😍😍😘
Fukuoka Tower looks absolutely beautiful with its illuminated landscape surrounding it! If I do go to Japan one day, I will definitely visit this place with my (hopefully) future partner! :)
Hi Michaela, I was at the Hakata Station Markets on Dec 8, it was so beautiful & seeing your video has made me wish I was back there. Thanks for sharing! 💖
I go a lot of places solo as well ... probably my next trip to Japan will be solo, but I always have a fantastic time 😉✨❣️✨ Great video and you have a wonderful cinematic style ❣️
I really loved this video! nice job Micaela❤ I know you were sick while filming it but it was worth it, seeing how it turned out😄 actually I've never really thought about Fukuoka before watching your videos but now I really want to visit it someday😍
+Lana May yesss, the voice overs took forever because my voice is shot today, but I'm glad its done. Now I can go back to focusing on VLOGMAS (and resting lol)
Now I regret visiting Fukuoka in the summer instead of winter... but not really because I fell in love with the city anyway, it's beautiful any time of the year (the only thing i don't love is the horrible humidity!) but now I am super convinced to visit it next year. I collect mugs so I am super excited to try the hot wine and have the limited edition mug with me hehe Although, maybe i will get a date when going back to Fukuoka... last time I visited i was by myself but all those pretty winter decorations makes it feel super romantic :P Great video as always~ 💖
This Christmas market is more authentic than the one in Montreal. I'm missing european christmas markets so much D: I wish I could visit Fukuoka during winter :)
I watched this video using the YT app on my TV. It was worth watching on a bigger sceen but I don't know how to comments or give Thumbs Up from the TV so l came back via my laptop. It might be that other people watch your videos the same way and so end up not commenting or thumb'ing up for that kinda (sorta) reason.
+plica06 I really appreciate the effort! My videos haven't been getting out recently and I found out that the engagement in the first 48 hours determines that. My videos have always been the type to grow over time, but now they don't even get distributed... so actions like yours help so much!!
There are tons of studies... Interaction in the first 48 hours matters, timing is also important as you mentioned, but it's about that 48 hour span, so tweeting, facebook posting, etc raising awareness in other ways during that 48 hour period helps for those who missed the video upon release.
+Micaela ミカエラ It's not just a problem you're having, it's been happening to lots of other RUclipsrs. Your content doesn't end up in the recommended videos for people for some reason. It's unfortunate but people are also randomly being unsubscribed from channels they don't thumbs up or comment on, even if they watch the videos. It's been happening randomly. If you look up the problem you'll find people on RUclips talking about it. RUclips have denied anything has changed in their algorithms but the evidence is there.
nihongometal Yeah, when I first saw one as a kid I thought it was a cursive capital B. :) It is hard to write one correctly so that you can see there are two S's together. Maybe that's why it's falling out of favor.
ahh Nana's green tea! i was there last year, such a great matcha place. i want to try senzai now after seeing this! looks like you had a great time fuk-ing haha. excited for your guys live stream!
I wanna visit Fukuoka in christmas time! ♥ It looks much prettier than my city :'( ... Thanks to you Fukuoka is one of the places I want to visit in Japan when I get the chance to go ^_^
Wow, Hakata Christmas market! Totally German inspired! Even the benches and tables seem to be original German. Scents package with German written on it! :P Wonder if I can get a job there at the stall... :) Unfortunately not year round...
@Micaela ミカエラ My gf and I are coming to Fukuoka for Christmas Dec 21-28. I'm sure you are very busy. But it would be COMPLETELY awsome if you could be a tour guide for like half a day or something. I've been watching your videos for a long time. I've always loved your content. Also getting to meet one of my idols would the best Christmas present ever :D Plz consider? But if not. Ill still love your content and have very happy Holiday's
Thanks for the awesome video, I generally don't really thumbs up videos unless I like them exceptionally. Partially due to laziness and the other part being that I think that if you throw them left and right they lose their meaning. I don't know about the how interaction thumbs up and attention work on youtube, but I like a few channels and am subscribed to them. It helps me track who puts out what, but in the end I still go searching video by video in the channels I'm interested in, whenever I have time for it. Anyway I like this video like many of your others because they feel genuine, relaxed and casual.
Thanks for the honest explanation! I think I've personally grown so accustom to "liking" things on Instagram and Facebook, that I do it without even thinking about it. But like others have mentioned, if they're watching on a television, or they just don't think about it too much, it's easy to understand that too. RUclips advised me to "remind" people to like my videos, and as cringey as it felt, it has to be done, because RUclips's videos are categorized by robots, and they need all the metadata and interaction they can find to determine what gets passed around and what gets buried.
Until when is the Christmas Village, January? Does it snow in Fukuoka? 😊 I really do love your Fukuoka vlogs, will visit in January 2019 so your vlogs are very helpful ❤❤❤ thank you!
Do you have a video about it? ^^ Just want to know how you felt about it. But since you did'nt extend your contract it wasn't really for you I'm guessing? It sounded like an interesting project, as in I didn't really understand the purpose. I hope the question doesn't come off as judgemental! I'm just curious about it.
+AllNamesAreJustTaken Well I did explain it in the "why I quit Japanese TV" video but they called me immediately and had me remove any mention of any brand, project, or name. When you work for something like the government everything you do and say has to be screened and approved because everyone loves to scrutinize the government. And when you hire a foreigner you draw all kinds of crazy people out of the woodwork. I couldn't even j-walk on an empty street, in case someone would see me or catch me and use it as a defense as to why me, or the program would be a waste of taxpayer dollars. That and I was required to do a lot of TV appearances and events to talk about Fukuoka City and encourage people to come visit, etc, but more often than not they were unpaid... yet I was expected to do them as part of my contract... So I couldn't have a normal job, and yet I couldn't make money either. But I was supposed to be "thankful for the exposure and opportunity." Of course I was, I love Fukuoka and I will continue to work to promote and create content about the city--but it's much much much better to do it on my own terms.
"gluhwein" you mean, not hot wine :p (speaking it is similar to "glue wine") Tatsu! Find a way to be with your girl and join her in visiting that tower! You definitely will make her day!
+SIG442 Glühwein IS heated wine with spices like cinnamon, star anis, lemon peels etc. added to it, depending on the region you live in. So "hot wine" is a good enough term for that if you're not familiar with the German language.
Micaela's Japanese Life It's true it may translate to 'hot wine', there may not really be a good translation for it in Japanese. But yeah, it may be correct in the general sense of the word I guess. I guess it may be different per country or course :) Just trying to help out, perhaps my choice in words were wrong. My apologies for that. But sure, can try to help out if I can. I am not all knowing unfortunately, just another human being with lots of flaws :) TheMsMoneypenny en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mulled_wine
SIG442 Thanks for the link, but I know what Glühwein is, after all I'm German and grew up with Christmas markets. It still comes down to it being red or white wine (depends in which country you live, but in Germany it's almost always red wine) that is heated, which means in its most basic form it is "hot wine" in the end.

You are like an angel . Beautiful Person. Perfect looking , Smart , Ambitious , so much talent. Wish there were more girls like yourself to choose from . On another topic may I ask what your opinion is on the best video editing software. I'm currently using hitfilm 4 pro & Iclone 6 together and getting great results but i'd love to get your opinion. Kindest regards & greetings from Australia , keep up the great work . I subscribed to your channel and hit the like button today . Thanks again you have a bright future to look forward too. Love your accent ay! (jokes) your sound gorgeous. YOu should do some songs in English . I think you would sound amazing ps , whats your fav lens ? im just using my canon d3300 with the standard 18-55mm and using in manual mode correctly but not super happy with the standard lens. Any recommendation.
I didn't miss the couple at 4:25 who got close for the photo, then parted straight away. It's kind of sad that some people feel so reluctant to show affection in public.
Hello. Sorry, I know my comment has nothing to do with the video, but I would like to know something. Back in April of this year, there was an earthquake in Kumamoto and you asked us, your audience, to donate something in order to help the people in Kumamoto city. If I remember correctly, depending on the amount of the donation, we were supposed to get something in exchange. However, its almost the end of the year and I never got anything. I was wondering if you're currently shipping the items you promised to ship to us or something else has happened since then. By the way, did the Kumamoto's government ever sent you the letter stating the donation was received? Thanks in advance.
+w3badm1n I'm sorry to hear you haven't got your package! Could you DM your name and tell me how much you donated? We shipped out many packages at once--some people are just getting theirs now, but some got returned due to bad addresses too. It's been really hard tracking down donors and finding their correct addresses so some of those are back here. The money was donated back in the summer, but I didn't get a letter of confirmation until this October!? And then I got a thank you letter as well. So everything is moving a lot slower than I ever thought it would... I've been waiting until all the packages were out to update the website, but some keep getting returned. 😭
Michaela, so im trying desperately to move to Japan, but I dont know if ill ever necessarily be allowed to work here with out a high education, which i have tried and failed badly in university. Im currently in staying in osaka for over a month with my japanese friend and we have been trying to figure out how make it so i can live here, i have a place to stay, two people who claim they can get me a job but it seems like that stuff is kind of irrelevant since a work visa seems as if its strictly for jobs that require a university level education. I am a canadian too so all the rules that apply to me i assume would to you aside from the fact that youve went threw university. If theres anything you can think of please let me know
+Obito's Nikushimi I didn't go through university (in Canada) and I don't have a work visa or degree. I stayed in Japan by getting student visas, one while I was learning Japanese and another while I was in senmongakko (specialty college). When you're a student you can also work part time, so I would teach English after class to pay for the classes. It was a nightmare but it was what needed to be done, and it can be done, it's just a huge struggle and you won't have much time for fun and spending after.
Micaela ミカエラ what did you do after that? I think it would be unrealistic that i could even pass anything university level in difficulty in school, i even failed Japanese really badly and that was the class i loved, but it dosnt seem possible to get a visa unless youre a student or youve already graduated from a high level education, neither of witch im plausible for regardless that ive already found a job and a place to live. And i honestly want to get out of canada asap, im just straight up depressed there
If you want to learn Japanese, you could go to a Japanese language school, they have visas for that, and you can work part time for 28 hours a week. After that, finding your next connection/sponsor is up to you, but that is how most people get their foot in the door. Oh, also if you're Canadian you might qualify for a working holiday visa if you're under 30 years old. Look it up!:)
I was thinking holiday visa, im building up connections with people here and japanese students in canada that are trying to help as well. I guess ill start to set my sights on language school and working holiday visas. Thank you very much Micaela ミカエラ its been a worrysome 12 hours ;^;
The real question now is... Did Micaela take a selfie for her twitter picture or did she just take a screen shot of this video?! I hope you're doing better today!

Thanks for showing us Fukuoka during the Christmas season Micaela! Everything looks so festive and magical~
You're the reason I fell in love with Fukuoka and why I'm so determined to make it back there. This video made me homesick!

Ahh those lights look so pretty and twinkly✨
I'm more and more tempted to go to Fukuoka City.
I love it. I was there for 2 weeks ago. I have been there 3 years ago too. It's like my second hometown
Fukuoka tower looks like the sky building in Osaka! I'll have to go there next time because I loved the sky building and thought it was very relaxing too :)
Every time you make a new video about this city, it seems more charming !
Beautiful video Micaela! I'll have to visit Fukuoka during Christmas time one day! Have a lovely day!
After watching her videos for over a year now I feel like I want to experience the city all your round :p. If only I knew Japanese so I could get a job there ...

This is such a good video!! Well Done! おめでとう
great video - nice to see a place that I may likely never visit, but your video made me feel like I got to visit briefly

I didn't miss the couple at 4:25 who got close for the photo, then parted straight away. It's kind of sad that some people feel so reluctant to show affection in public.
I'll go with you! :-p And take ''selfies like this''*.
The packages at 1:43 are in german :D
are all big jvloggers canadian?? or am i somehow sucked into the canadian jvlog vortex
How did the floor work at 4:32? Is it self luminous or was it fluorescent activated by ultraviolet lights?
Now that I think about it--I didn't even check! I think it's black lights???
What's the song around the 4min mark? I'm aware it's by audioblocks but I can't find the name.
どちらも行ってきましたよ!
アメリカ人の彼女が言ってたのですが、こういったマーケットはアメリカではクリスマスに限らず開かれるのですか?
Micaela ミカエラ Thank you. Greetings from the US.
I got your DM! Let me look into it for you!
ミカエラさん、『ホリデイ』って映画のアイリスにそっくりです!!
観たことありますか?
ないです!調べてみますね!
I was thinking holiday visa, im building up connections with people here and japanese students in canada that are trying to help as well. I guess ill start to set my sights on language school and working holiday visas. Thank you very much Micaela ミカエラ its been a worrysome 12 hours ;^;
This kinda makes me sad that I won't be in Fukuoka until Dec. 26th. 😝
+Meggie Kay The lights will stay up! But the Christmas stuff will be gone.
Yea. At least there is still that. The lights seem a little nicer than what we have in Oita. 😝
hi! micaela! Santa Claus is Coming to Town:):)
Oh great!
Micaela ミカエラ exactly~
The real question now is... Did Micaela take a selfie for her twitter picture or did she just take a screen shot of this video?!
I hope you're doing better today!
Hehe, I took video, and then I photos too. The photo was originally for instagram, but I liked it so I made it the thumbnail of this video too!
