I always think that if we'd had a wheel at school I'd never have picked up a paint brush. Throwing is so therapeutic, where painting is stressful. Your touch is so sure, as is your Dad's. A joy to watch, many thanks.
I have never had an interest in doing anything artistic before finding your videos..but after 2 days of being hypnotised by these I do believe I'm going to give this a go. thank you for posting.
Absolutely love your videos, very helpful, mesmerizing, and soothing! I like to watch them before I go to bed because the wheel and your voice are so calming
Beautiful !! You are very talented, I used to do ceramics in our art lessons in secondary school, my final GSE art exam was a ceramic piece and I got a grade 1 !! It was based on the mincing machine off pink Floyd's the wall !!! I always think about taking it up as a hobby ?? One day maybe ??? Your a lucky man to have a career you clearly are passionate about ???
i don't do pottery, i don't use clay, i don't know how to do sculptures, i was randomly on youtube when i came across your videos they are soo relaxing and it seem soo relaxing to do it, that i might just start making it xD
You are talented and skilled , I enjoy watching. A thought, put a black mark on both the base and the plate in line with the pins towards the edge so you can spot and line up easier.....
Hahaha "Don't need to do any of this tap-centering-malarkey" Drawing circles on the bat actually sounds brilliant, though. Centering to trim is always a pain and a half.
wooow I really love it 😍😍 thank you for sharing your amazing talent I fall in love with the art of clay after watching a lot of your videos and I really wanted to learn it. so I start reading about it but I depressed when I read that the clay must left for a long time in the oven under a very high temperature to dry and harden and unfortunately I don't have an oven 😢... would you please tell me how did you dry your jars...
You can always buy air drying clay. I find it works alright on the wheel but oven/forge clay works best for me. If you don't have a wheel, or an oven, I highly recommend air dry clay. :)
Ceramic shops will often fire individual pieces for a fee. It can be. hard to get access to a wheel, but beautiful stuff can be hand built using pinch pot, coil, or slab techniques. I hope you find a way to get to play with clay!
I'm wondering the same thing. I want to see the pottery completely finished. The colors don't look like colors at this stage. I want to see the pottery after it's been in the kiln, painted, and glazed.
+Johnita Roberts-Huff, Pottery is so theraputic and relaxing! I recommend that you look locally in your area and see if there isn't a studio that offers lessons. I've been doing pottery for just about a year now and I am building my own pottery wheel so I can make things without having to take classes. If you like to work with your hands, pottery is for you!
I always think that if we'd had a wheel at school I'd never have picked up a paint brush. Throwing is so therapeutic, where painting is stressful. Your touch is so sure, as is your Dad's. A joy to watch, many thanks.
I don't know why but I love these vids, they're hypnotic. The only thing I know about pottery is you use clay and slip.
the only thing I know is you use clay. I don't even know what slip is
I'd love to see some photo's of your work after it's been fired at the end of the video's. It'd be a nice touch.
Was just about to comment the same thing !
I have never had an interest in doing anything artistic before finding your videos..but after 2 days of being hypnotised by these I do believe I'm going to give this a go. thank you for posting.
Is so fascinating to see how one blob of clay can become a beautiful art :)

Is he not aloud to mess up his words I mean you do sometimes don't you

I have never seen you make feet for your bowls and plates before, why don't you make them? do you just prefer the bare/'unglazed' bottom?
