- Hurricane Ian is rapidly intensifying and is still forecast to become a major hurricane Tuesday as the entire state remains under a state of emergency.
Prayers to everyone being affected by this hurricane. People need to begin to prepare for these types of events as they are happening more frequently. The following passage comes to mind as we are witnessing these events....
"You have to prepare for an unstable world. You are witnessing chaotic events in the world. Imagine yourself being in those events, surviving those events. Let them teach you what you would have to do, how you would have to prepare and think, what would be the wisest course of action. Let these terrible and unsettling events instruct you."

I live in florida
The Tampa Bay is shaped and angled in the worst possible way for a storm like this. I'm from New Orleans and when a storm comes from a certain angle, like Katrina did, it pushes all the water into Lake Pontchartrain and it builds and builds until the levees can't handle it. The water can't flow back out because the wind direction is keeping it flowing in. If the track continues, and makes landfall in the bay or slightly north of it, then the Tampa Bay area could face the same problems. If you live around the bay you should seriously consider evacuating. God bless y'all and stay safe.
Bruh Florida is built differently, besides by the time it hits; it's going to be reduced to a Cat 2.. we still going outside, just another tropical storm type day for us..

We have the barrier isles not eroded away by corruption. They have alot of buildings on them that will be washed into the sea, taking most of force away from the mainland. So clearwater Beach is gonna get hulked
@@kloatlanta it's mostly gonna effect the rich, so we don't care, slums flood but will not be washed out.
@@nothuman3083the beach maybe.. but not the Condo's or houses.. in 2004 we had 4 hurricanes pass by, including Hurricane Charley and we took it on the chin.. Like I said, Florida is just built differently..

if you live in Florida here's a tip take a empty 2 L ( as many as you want) fill it with water about 1/3 of the way then freeze it if you lose power it'll help keep your refrigerator cool

Praying for all the people in hurricane Ian's path
The inner counties, I live in Hardee, are so flooded now it's ridiculous. So even if we don't get a direct hit, there are going to be a lot of people who either are going to have submerged homes or will not be able to get in and out of there properties. If it rains much more my dad's well will be underwater again like it was in hurricane Irma. That was a mess to fix. So we appreciate all the prayers and I'm praying that it won't make it to a four. Praying for the coast. Love my Florida beaches.

Ohh man, that recent eastward turn is extremely bad for the Florida coast. I hope everyone is taking the proper precaution. It will most likely make landfall at a cat 3 if it continues to nudge to the east.
Now just imagine what you'd be dealing with trying to evacuate in an electric vehicle.
This beast reminds me of Jeanne. The difference being is it's tracking West. I'm not worried about the Lake. I would still be thinking about the Kissimmee and then later the canals.

A question... As I see Florida on the screen, there is a lighter blue around Florida that make it looks like a bigger state. Was Florida that big before?

Yes, the shelf goes out 100 miles and it's mostly 10-5 ft. There's spots out in the gulf where the sand builds up to near breaching at low tide. They smack into the barrier isles and build them up.

Was a cat 4-5 when it hit land not a 2. Many fishermen predicted it was going to be a cat 4-5 cause of how warm the waters were near the keys. Sad fishermen are better at reporting hurricanes strength than weather men

I doubt the veracity of hurricane Ian's forecast -the TD9.storm is a slow moving depression and a big possibility that it could hit into Cat5 hurricane since most slow moving storm intensifies most as it hit the land🤔

I'm from Hawaii where we face the threat of hurricanes almost every winter season. Even at 50 mph, which is only the tropical storm force, wind gusts have been known to pick up things in people's yards and create deadly projectiles out of them.
