We had an abandoned gold mine to explore when we grew up, but we sure kept our eyes peeled for any loose rocks. I can totally understand the fascination but middle of the night? Not a good time to be wandering about.
Where are their parents.
They were teenagers! Do you really think that they wanted their parents to know what they were doing?
In the early 80s I used to explore those tunnels. Lots of fun.
I LOVE the stache!
I was gonna say the same thing! Legendary!
Handlebar hunk sure has a classic vibe. What was this story about, again?
@Rizzcycler you would know, I guess. Maybe both our usernames are a bit misleading. Jk😗
Young people make such great decisions. 😂
Since the 1950s🤣
@@tipo4318 Young people have made poor discussions since forever. That is part f being young.
@@who2u333 teens wasn't a term till the rebel area of the 50s/60s back then they were adults now they are teens
@@who2u333 But the concept of a “teen” was actually born when The New York Times published its monumental 1945 article “A 'Teen-Age Bill of Rights,”
Well i was very interested how they got the injured teen out but you cut it off
As long as Colorado continues to enforce the "fence out" laws, this will continue. In other words, people can sit in your yard or walk thru your property or business all day long unless you fence them out. This is an ancient cattle law that continues to be bad news. The cattlemen cut barbed wire in order to avoid the law. It doesn't benefit anyone.
whats that mean...it should or shouldn't of been fenced....
I hope he's okay.
How did the teens find this, how long have they known about this? I feel like it’s been a while if there were 8 teens in this round.
It’s been a spot urban explorers hit for at least 30 years, they’ve tried to seal it up in past attempts but the people always find a way back in.
It's been a well-known fact for decades. It has been quite the hang out for teens in the past 40 years. I'm surprised that more teens haven't been injured.
@@diannau3215 I’m surprised more people hadn’t heard about this place.
@@ritaturner9906 My son found out about the silos when he was in high school in the 1990's. He also had friends living out east. He never told me he had been to the silos until years later.
These sites are very well known among the locals. This particular site was probably the least guarded and most accessible.
FYI, the "entrance" you see is not the main entrance. This tunnel lead to a huge diesel fuel tank that has since been removed. The real entrance is sealed up with 1 to 3ft thick concrete hatches.
I have been to a few missile silos and never ended up in anything but repugnant standing water. Scary stuff. But kids these days are not made of rubber. They are made of glue. As they used to say.
That water has cancer-causing missile fuel contamination. Gets in the groundwater. Take cancer screenings seriously.
Missle silo with an underground railway?? Fireman says what?! The look on his face says he let that mistakingly slip...interesting!
I think if someone had found before the teens, they would have possibly been living there. Like tunnels in New York and tunnels in Vegas. Now I’m curious how far the tunnels go especially if there are railroad tracks.
@@ritaturner9906 And I thought all those maps of underground tunnels across the US were a conspiracy theory. Maybe not?
@@b.louise9091Especially all those subway ones under NY City! Write a conspiracy book.
@@helenpauls1496 There are no subways in eastern Colorado. Explain the train tracks in a missile silo.
@@b.louise9091 same as the tracks in a mine...
Man…..I wanna see those medical BILLS.
When they get big enough... they don't matter anymore.
Dang that is bad news 😢
Whiskers are useful for searching in the dark.☝️🏼
Hahah I could have rescued those kids faster than they did, I know that abandoned nuclear missile silo like the back of my hand. You would have to be one special person to fall in and get critically injured there…. It’s actually sorta hard to fall anywhere in there if you pay attention…I’ve been through the whole facility more times than I can remember at this point, with groups of people (and the deepest accessible parts in the silo) Heroic rescue just sounds silly to be honest. Those kids ruin another great abandoned place to explore just like when one fell and got injured at the gates rubber factory. If you want to see more on the history or layout of it look up Deer trail Titan 1 missile silo.
The structural integrity of the building isn’t there anymore. I can guarantee you that all 8 of them were standing in one spot at once and something collapsed
Well aren't you special?
I've been in there ...28 years ago! Atleast it was close to that one, I remember the entrance was different must've been a different branch but it was very close to where DIA is now , wouldn't be surprised if they're connected
@@GnarlyWafflethe main commenter seems to be a little full of himself, but he is right in a sense. I’ve been through it a couple times and seen everything in it, I doubt they stood on something and it fell, there is only one spot where you can fall that deep when inside the silo and if you have a bad flashlight or you aren’t paying attention it’s easy to walk right off the ledge and fall down the shaft you just climbed up the stairs for.
You should of gone and helped instead of being glued to your phone lame
Man they know very little or don't care to share...lady at end has it wrong!😅
Not very bright kids.
Check them for radiation asap
Reporters these days ask such lame questions. Might as well be asking the rescuers what they had for dinner last night.
Just more "teens" exploring "abandoned" places that belong to someone else. For some reason, if you simply apply the "abandoned" word to just about anything, teens think this gives them absolute permission to enter. Take for instance the teen that was wandering around in an unfamiliar area and found an "abandoned" antique car. So, he climbed in and was marveling at how well preserved the interior was, when the owner walked out of Walmart and told him to get out!
I hope they are charged with trespassing. They also should be charged with the rescue because they were committing a crime during that time.
Sounds like Parts are taking care of there kids
oh my not having any cell service can you imagine!
Could get more information from a tree stump than that group.
WALKY TALKY FOLKS!
all i got say the owner can sell that silo for millions why keep it and do nothing with it
Why? He already has millions.
Too much time left to their own devices. Not conducive to successful outcome. That had the potential to devastate
Why do females live longer than males?
Why not have Elon musk turn it into a launch site for his rockets. It's already designed for that use.
no it's not. They couldn't even retrofit them for the later missile systems. It was cheaper to build new launch facilities.
