Thanks for the information you have been providing on the S2. I first heard and saw the videos Jon at Alternate Arms Self Defense posted over the last week or so on his channel. My wife gave the go to order one for the collection after seeing Jon’s wife shoot it. The videos you have been posting about this launcher has convinced my wife that we made a great purchase. Now just have to wait for UPS to get it down here in the Florida Keys. Amazon said February 20th. But it shipped from Salt Supply thru Amazon the same day as ordered. So perhaps soon. Byrna SD going to retirement drawer, S2 and FSC will be in rotation.
Just wanna say thank you for your great videos. They are really helpful. I watched yours,John's at alternate arms& Dan at sterling self defence videos on the salt supply s2. They helped me decide on the less lethal marker I would get. I got my s2 the other day& I love it. It's very powerful & accurate right out the box.ty again. Hope you keep up the good work. Stay safe
I have thought about it. I’ve been talking to Sean Kempter about it. I may get another one to modify. For me this configuration is great because I need it for shooting chemical rounds. I have some other modified high power launchers. But they ware too powerful for chemicals. I also have lethal. My state allows it. But I do like the versatility with Less Lethal. And almost always I do carry lethal and less lethal together.
@thepepperballprepperlessle6486 an excellent point. You don't want chemical rounds busting in your launcher. What is the speed at which the chemical rounds can safely be fired? I bought Umarex HDR 50 launchers for my daughters before I discovered there are 68 caliber launchers like this Salt Supply S2. My Umarex launchers are affordable and easily modified but the power difference and payload of chemical irritants is substantially less with the 50 than the 68. The Umarex HDR 68 is too large for EDC. Some states (California) and other countries don't allow civilian possession of chemical irritants necessitating higher power as the only option for defense. I am considering buying the Salt Supply S2 for travel if the power can be increased to 30-40 joules. As a Christian, the ability to deter an attacker without permanent injury is appealing. Huben makes a powerful HPA pistol, similar to a 22LR in power. It could be lethal, theoretically, so I won't buy one. Appreciate the informative videos. GOD bless you.
@@J0HN_3_16 the ability to not break rounds on the barrel depends more on how the launcher fires. Modified umarexes. Are good for 25-30joules and don’t break them. Duke rounds for .68 cal seem very strong
NOTE: This weekend I took out my .68 sizer gauge and found that Salt Supply projectiles are a bit larger than the Duke Defense rounds, i.e., Salt is a better bore match( I guess). The Home Wrecker projectile is a match to the Salt Supply round. Grimburg Jul V3 is smaller than those two. Byrna? The largest of all of them! So for the S2 carry, I will take the Salt or Wrecker round and stick with the Byrna round for my LE for bore matching reasons. Not an expert here! Just saying......
Funny you mentioned the child safety lids on the ammo. I panicked when I saw someone struggling to open the jar after taking it out of the kit. I didn't want my Salt kit to come to me with the child safe lids. No kids around here. Just an 88 year old who couldn't open the lid if the kit would come to her. She'd have to bang on the lid with a hammer to open the jar. Luckily, I let Salt Supply know not to send it to me with the child proof lid and they were wonderful enough to send the easy open lids.
Are you referring to the projectiles? If so they could. But it probably won’t be the best choice. The Gavel barrel is bore matched for the Grimburg rounds and kinetics to get the most joules
Absolutely good idea to secure the amo Off subject a little the cannabis industry with the look alike package mimic candy need to take a lesson from this company Awesome video greatest less lethal weapon
I'm new at doing my research on less lethal carry, is any of these companies gearing products towards women?? I like the Salt 2, but it looks large for concealed.
Yes it would be a bit large for a woman unless you carried it off body in a pocketbook. But you can look into the kimber pepper blaster 2 I did a video on it as well. It’s devastating. The Umarex Hdp50 compact may also be another one to explore
Those rounds are great but i do wish they weighed just a little more like closer to 5g. Have you tested Grimburg Juls in this yet? Might see closer to 22j 😉.
”typical” is hard to say when dealing with co2. The Salt looks to use a blow forward firing system which generally benefits from heavier projectiles. Testing is imperative as you know and nothing is written in stone until its on paper. I have many markers that do better with lighter projectiles when theoretically they shouldn’t.
I have always heard that their chemical rounds (OC/tear gas mix) are pretty potent. Never thought about the kinetic rounds. Thanks for sharing.

It’s nice also instead of retiring the marker. Keep them in various areas around the house ready to go Incase you can’t get to another marker

I noticed the white Duke glass breakers look and weigh the same as the S2 projectiles. They also fit snugly like the ones you tested in the video.
they probably are the duke defense balls

To have a fair test you should change the co2 cart for the second magazine
It would be great if you could use your caliper and measure the diameter of these different kinetics.

It’s the new Salt Supply S2

I actually saw more 2 more joules with these larger but lighter projectiles than the heavier homewreckers. Is this typical?
