YES! More people need to know about Mark Adams's heroic legacy on bass. Great to see his son honoring his memory here.
Thank you!

Marks legacy LIVES ON THROUGH MARK AKRIDGE!
@@markakridge6895 welcome
Being from Detroit, we’re no stranger to Slave and the bands legacy. Still one of the baddest groups I’ve heard to this day and same thing for Mr. Adams…STILL one of the baddest bass players I’ve ever heard. When everyone was going for a perfect polished bass tone and playing…here came Mark Adams with a really raw and rugged style. It was definitely unique for the time! I always refer to it as ‘street bass’ because what you hear is what you get! Also, fantastic playing by his son here and I guarantee Mr. Adams would be beyond proud!
4:47 Brother's killin that lead guitar.... Breakin it down Anybody remember the Slave 'Jam Patrol" and the Road Patrol'!!!!!
It's honorable to see Mark pick up in Memory of his Dad. No better way to do it. Wishing you all the best and then some!
Thank you David
Sorry David I push the dislike button! what an idiot I'm! even the homies love Mark! RIP a genius! that base tab! INSANE!
I loved seeing Mark in an interview speaking of his dad. To a child, time is LOVE.
@@markakridge6895 PLAY THAT THANGGG MARK AKRIDGE
Ok now !!!!!!!! he does a great job keeping the pocket on the bass that was cool 😎 🎸🙏 rip mark Adam's

Awesome job, Funk will never die. As much as they try to kill it!
Yoooo....I bow down to you Sir...I love Slave!! Stevie and the old crew...but it was the bass guitar that made Slave Funky!!! Yes Steve was watching ladies going by but
it was just a touch of BASS that made it funky. Keep playing my man ... I will come to OHIO just to see you guys but promise me a full show with Sugar Foot and
the Players!! Job well done for this set.
OMG! I had forgotten about this song. These bass licks, are the stuff of life! The entire song, vocals, horns, guitar, drums, is all there!
TY, to whoever shared this!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Your welcome it’s me, sonofthefungk🙂
Just one Question...How in the "FUNK" do you EVA forget about Slide....(Its my Ringtone)...When this dropped in 1977...It bought a whole new level of Funk...!!!
@@TheBlackbudda08 , right! I was in high school
at the time. That was a good minute ago, but I really shouldn’t have forgotten, the way that bass line funked me up!😉
@@TheBlackbudda08I know that's right I had a 8track boom box mounted on my 10 speed bike in 77 I was 16 I wore that 8track out so bad I had to fold a piece of paper and stick it on the side in order for it to play.😂😂
good Times 💃🕺📣🎺🥁🎸🎷🎹 🎶🎵😍❗❗❗
....from Germany 😀
Gave me chills to here this powerful set great talent
That singing is terrible ,musicians are on the one
A Bad Impression of a Poweful Band!
For me, Slave's Slide and Barkays Holy Ghost are the 2 most funkiest songs on the planet! Glad to see Mark's son carrying on the sound!
Thank you dearly I appreciate your kind words 💜
Hell yeah, Funk On!!!
Excellent. Just be mindful of microtones, a little sharp, or flat, means a lot. Perfect pitch is most important.😊
Well done mark Adams jnr. I think his fathers bass guitar player was so fantastic , it should be studied in music university classes. Slave were a super but underrated funk band. Their albums stone jam showtime visions of the light bad enuff and unchained at last were superb. Steve Arrington Danny Webster and of course the magnificent mark Leslie. Adams. I think his guitar playing was a gift from the gods. Thankfully funk music shows on RUclips Truth in rhythm by Scott Goldfine keep the funk alive.
Thank you very much appreciated 🎸💪🏾
I appreciate the effort but then again I don't!
Go snort another line of coke
This is nice! Your dad was the man on the bass and you're not far behind 👏🏽 keep it up, brother!
@@Relivelive I appreciate that thank you, I’m keep reaching to be better💯

Drac would be proud of that solo, I had a chance to play with him and hang with him when he was in baton rouge for a while, really cool kat, he gave me his number, but he passed b4 I could hit him up.

I'm looking forward to having your release in my collection along with the masterful sounds of the bass produced by your dad during his time with SLAVE. Not One bass guitar player then or now (other than you) could duplicate your dad's work...gone too soon, but his legacy lives through you as he's smiling looking & dare I say it...Watching You. God Bless You.

Back in the late 70s/early 80s EVERY prospective bassist in Dayton, Ohio knew about Drac, and wanted to play like him. Amazing how young those dudes were when they hit big…
Drac played lead not the bass that was Mark playing bass
I Would like to know why video ls Pre recored Can you show the Live Version.

Wait ! Is the Bass Player really MARK ADAMS from the vinyl albums and CD'S OR is he his son ????. it's because i have the most important vinyl albums, and also on CD. i do recognize the sound of bass. They said on the back of a vinyl album 1976 1977/1978 : You will always hear us, but you will never see us. It is now 2022. Glenn
I’m his first born child💯💪🏾🎸❤️
