- Опубликовано: 5 окт 2024
- Bass line request to play a joint from the band known as" SLAVE my Bass Jam is not in the same tone as Mark Adams,, though i try to move along the same concept towards The Stella Funk ,
My man. Mark....rest in peace my brother....your sound will always remain yours....there are many and then there was you💯👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💯🙌🏽
Robert Popswell , Bootsy, Mrcus Miller, < Mark Adams, > EWF , Louis Johnson , james jamerson
Him and Bernard Edward's two of my favorite players. Had their own signature style and tone , great octave runz ,Laid back grooves but super funky. Mark popularized that slide style and multi use of alternating between thumb and finger style simultaneously in one groove ❤
Right on
The first time I heard this song, I turned to my dad and told him I wanted a bass. One of the most underrated jams of all time.
I saw Slave in Philly at the Spectrum, 18,000 plus were all on the feet, jammin at their seats. Blew my mind... RIP Mark Adams.
1st person in my "crib" location to play " Just a Touch "@ dec 1980
it was still only an underground "new joint" in a selected group disco clubs at that time ,
also 1st in my location on another joint in dec 1980 by Donald Byrd called Lovin You ,,
both probably 1st " ever " played in the UK @
The Global Village

Mark and Drac is rockin to this, RIP to them🙏🏿✊🏿💯
indeed Sir ,, Mark, Drac the band ,, Son of Slave & many others
special thanks to the person who requested this tune,,
Thank You
Mark "Hanslor" Adams was a great bassist. These cats were very young when they started Slave. Stevie "Fearless Leader " Washington, Steve Arrington, Mark "Drac" Hicks; hard to get that type of musicianship today.
Facts 💯
My favorite bass player of all time Mark Drac Adams❤😅
They were like 15 16 just very talented young brothers
That was a great performance. Mark would have loved your rendition.
Oh he was alive during beans renditions, and probably heard Beans magic, but the problem is with the greats they I imagine have such big heads or ego's they wouldn't ackknowledge somone so talented as Beanseventy work.
9yrs later this cover is still great
DUDE!!! You nailed this! One of my faves. Mark would be proud. Carry on....
I could listen to this forever
One of the greatest pop funk jams ever!!! That ''showtime'' album is underrated!!!
I totally agree. Showtime was my favorite Slave album. There is some really great bass playing and music composition on that album. I used to just play the whole album in a constant loop some days. For the Love of U was a great slow jam too . This is some of Steve Arringtons best vocal work and some of Mark Adams’s best bass work . The horns were outstanding also! It’s just a great album and if you like Slave it’s a must have! I hate to leave anyone out because the guitar work was great and the background vocals, the keys and everything. It’s just an all around great body of work!
Turn on those party liiiiights! Yes my favorite too!
Showtime and visions great great albums
I concur. I was in Okinawa when this album came out. I think I wore my cassette out for listening to it so many times.
@@Semperkick me too. Kadena Air Force Base
sensational
sheer shivers down the spine absolutely brilliant
rest in peace real funk soul
thanks ,,,,
& thanks to the guy who requested the joint
The Melodies of this song takes me back to girlfriends of the past💞
I'm so glad you chose this song. It's my favorite by Slave. You are freakin' awesome! I've watched you over and over. I've picked up my bass and committed to learning to play thanks to watching you. Thanks, much appreciated!
thanks ,, still finding myself lost in not uploading music these days ,, unable to get my show on the road ,, i need to get some uploads onto you tube ,, once again thanks ,, keep it purple keep it funky ,

hell if you told me you was in the group and played THAT I would've believed it !
Bean, my man, you are ‘that dude’. Awesome
Holy Crap!!!! My gosh. Awesome. A slept on Monster Jam by Slave. Thanks for sharing.
I just played this on the way to work!
when you play music like this on bass it just takes you to another place in time.
true
i was a kid again up in my room with those big ass headphones on listening to that crackle and static on my 1 speaker record player i borrowed from the library.
Man, this is so funky I'm going to post it on my Facebook page. I think the whole world should see you play. My only question is WHY THE HELL ARE YOU NOT A NATIONAL RECORDING ARTIST?
we had a bad time in the early 80s on the streets
UK music industry TV was not great
decided to stay away from it all,
i was never cut out for that pop type fame .
sometimes i truly regret not going into it
but my gut heart & soul won the day
being famous being on stage is not for everyone
anyway
RUclips is perfect
all my stuff is 100% free 100% all the time
guy who requested this joint
& Mr Canada himself
thank you

I DID NOT KNOW about this guy. He's a secret to the people who haven't heard him yet. I'M glad I found this^^
Keep it bangin! By the way....I sing lead on Slaves' 1983 Bad enuff and 1984 New Plateau....all lead vocals on the latter ...take care of your hands...Mark Adams used to wash his hands with warm water and soap to keep his fungk right!
You Right.
First of all praise and glory to mark for leaving us with this gift his mission here was over and done off to the next phase for him slave is one of my all-time favorite group because of Mark and all the rest of the gang LOL but it's his Superior Superior bass playing they made are one of the biggest fans of slave ever take this probably he still God and once again thank you
also Respect to the guy who requested it
this tune was Not on my radar
yet the guy knew or thought i had "some" knowledge of these kinds of joints,

Mark Adams inspired bass line on the bone
by "the crew" in real time
He actually enhanced this track beautifully ... listened 4 times.
He is nice as hell.
the best bass player I have ever heard since Mark Adams
Magnificent job on one of my favorite Slave songs that showcased the late Mark "The Hansolor" Adam's bass playing skills.
This song and “Spice of life “ are two of Slaves most underrated songs! Also they are two of my favorite Slave songs ! I would love to see film of them performing this song live ! Somebody, anybody please upload!!! Oh and btw great bass playing bruh.
Now that's what I call pure Funk!! Limburger cheese, popcorn smelling, athlete's foot, toe jam funk!!! You killed it dude! Mark Adams is smiling from the Heavens.
That made my day love it one of my favorite songs seriously
cool , also thank the guy who requested this, without him it may never had happened ,
My Brother why you at I havent been on your channel year. I just put in Slave bass cover and you came straight up. Brilliant.
Mark Adams, would be proud Sir.Very well done!
This Is A Real Classic Right Here.😎👍
This your best cover . It has tone and tempo. It has attitude. I listen to the original and your version . The base slides and (growl ) thumbs ,slaps ,plucks are fantastic. I get my day going with this. Keep inspiring.
Thanks again ,, remember tho , i never intentionally uploaded this joint with Mark Adams in my sights ,,
it was a request ,, obviously we knew the band well ,, as folks outside of USA ? we were into the band from the start ,, this tune instantly reminded me of Smokey Robinson ,, means my hearing was in that direction
all i can say i am truly humbled by the response from All of you guys out there ,, mainly from America "home bass players" & OGs who like their bases & pitched in to the forum ,, ,, Thank You
CAN YOU SAY PERFECTION.......WHO WIT MEEEEEEEE
He had his own signature groove. He stay locked in on laid back pocket especially when Steve Arrington on drums and singing out the grooves 🥁. Dynamic duo. No one had a groove like that. Had their own sound. Mark's finger / thumb simultaneous playing combo style was one of a kind
He killing that bass...
Bro, all I can say is that you are ICE COLD with that bass.
truly lost for words ,, over the years
& thanks to the guy who requested this joint
thank you Mr Canada ,, nice bass lines by yourself recently
@@bean9seventy I appreciate the love, Brotha, but I only wish I could do what you do. I first saw you on that Marvin Gaye song and your flow and the smooth way you vibe is unreal. You definitely inspire me to get more focused and learn how to make that instrument a part of me.
Oh, and since you take suggestions, I have one or two that I'd like to throw at you: (1) "Loving You" by Marcus Miller, and (2) "Don't Make Me Run Away" by Gladys Knight.
OMG, you'll CRUSH these bass grooves.
By the way, THANKS for just being a great bassist and a great person.
@@breezecanada4038 thank you Mr Canada, Sir ,
you can do what i do
you "rollin" the bass on this joint
ruclips.net/video/XeC_lcanaZY/видео.html
big tune in the UK ,
on the beach in the park after dark
125th NY USA
Man I love this song and video, I can't get enough of it. Bean9seventy is still to date one of the best bass players I've seen on RUclips to date! Thanks for all your up loads Beany9seventy.
thanks guys ,, & also guys ? please thank the guy who asked me to do this as a request ,
You are all on top of this bass line. Excellent. I have every song Slave made and I'm telling you this is nice.
Yeah you definitely got that Bass down! Keep it coming and keeping Funk alive is what time it is!!
Solid as Hell......Funky & in the pocket!
Dude!! You nailed it !!! I got to get this under my fingers now!.... thanks for posting
Woohoo got me feeling the funk . Nice playing man love it 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
Awesome Awesome Job!!! I Love Slave and you nailed this Jam on the head!!!!
I just can't get enough of you and watching your fingers work.
Thank for the text , its a very tricky ghost note bass line ,it was a bass request ,, i followed Mark Adams as far as my bass & rigg would take me ,Mark Adams goes even deeper than i can hear ,i study American Funk as much as i can,: stone jammed stella funk ways ,
Nice...smooth flow too. Ya'll killin it in a good funky way. Stellar Funk forever.
Bean you have a unique stye I've study All bass players from Louis Marcus Stanley victor wooten Larry graham who mainly started slapping Mark Adams would have love the way you play this tune keep up the good work my brother I rate your playing with best when it comes to funk bass slapping
you know what ?
you are right ,,
without being boastful, no one else uses or plays the bass like B970 ,,
go compare my jams to all the rest if you feel uncertain
yes there some really big big players (pro bassists too) on line with 1m% awesome tones, slaps, licks, chops & mind blowing solos
yet i sometimes stand out as different
i am sure if my videos survive the many many years, people will start to see past the trolls & hate
& start to use/ investigate my small contributions to bass,
my mission was to fill the gap / create a bridge
between Real 1970s bass players (like myself) & the here & now
thank you ruclips.net/video/Ff2CCSzjeHg/видео.html
I grew up with these guys in Dayton. As a guitarist and bassist myself, I have to say that you did a good job. Danny Webster is singing this song. Just talked to him recently. Keep funkin bro.
wow man , really nice playing, you got that rhythm spirit, I wanna play drums with you,
Wow you are amazing man !! much respect !!! love this
That brother is outstanding
buzzing some Mark Adams :D

Wow bruh! Mad props to ya. I've seen your other covers, especially the one by Aurra, and you CAN PLAY the hell out of bass and perfectly get all the nuances too. RESPECT man!
You did my favor bass player justice. Thanks
Oh boy killed it! That was masterful.

@@bean9seventy Thanks man. I got a request. Just might be the funkiest bass ever too: Change - Hard Times (It's gonna be alright).
@@out42c ok ,,
this i think is Timmy Alans (bass player for Change) favorite song ,,
think he said it has a unique sauce
i will post a message back when its ready
i may upload a few other jams 1st
thanks,
oh, i also would like to do more live chat
my live set up is weak must sort that out
thanks again
I know that song backwards and forwards he put something in it at 1:47 that was beyond funky. Mark Addams would have been proud. Seriously you are a Monsta bass player on this song.
I Tole You How Much I Appreciate You Playing This For Us ?!! ONE LOVE BEAN !!!
music is the key to all ,, tho we walks through shadows of despair , each one of us will shine , glory to the world , , Jeffrey T'challah Johnson !! One Love ,
Let me say one thing...you are one terrific player!! Effortless, and so precise. You have talent, my friend.
Well go head on my brother!! Great job
I am watching on Bass Tabs to put this on their website so I can learn to play it. I always requested Sizzlin' Hot and Stone Jam.
the bass line swings over the beat ,, tho i only landed it at a certain level or point ,, suggest listening to a few brunswick label joints ,,& smokey robinson ,, it should help keep focus on keeping the stone jam sweet & bright ,, the stellar funk should /will work by its self ,,
I'm impressed! I like how you keep up with the bass in the song. I love this group and this song.
Dude i love this tune as much as Watching u and Just A Touch and u nailed it! 👋👏👍🎼
You are fantastic but can you play watching you by slave? I'm trying to learn how to play ...if you play watching you you will be my new idol ...thank you man...
Man I always come back to watch these video
thanks man
I was just listening to this yesterday thank you for posting and thanks algorithm for finding the video 😂
strange indeed, as the algorithm at one point was promoting the video as Mark Adams, cheers man
I was searching Slave felt like hearing old school funk thanks again
@@MarcG7424 exactly ,, one guy thought i was mark adams ? ,, only for 5 mins tho ; D
I'm actually a beginner bassist so players like you inspire me
@@MarcG7424 me too, i am trying to learn american music basically ,
disco funk jazz styles mainly &
RnB if i am lucky ,,
even tho i have been playing for years
going on you tube woke me up heaps
it helped me remember the original players
the way they hold & pull notes
1st via a guy from NY who was into Marcus Miller
2nd by discovering the james jamerson method
eversince been working on that
one day i will do a video book on what i have found ,, its mind blowing 100%
never seen before stuff
literally changes what you know on bass
even beginers can learn it
🤘🤘🤘
The bassist: the unsung hero! Well played, playa!
You killed it playa. This is one of my favorite Slave songs. Good job !!!
Do you have any other Slave covers on-line, especially Feel My Love?
yeah there are a few more Stella funk tracks out there i might cover ,, thank you dude man
Day-um! Love it! I always wanted to isolate that bass in this record. One of my funk favorites. Next best thing to the real.

I have watch your vid 20 times at least before making a comment. Mark Hansolar Adams would be proud I bet it was not easy just awesome
+Robert Pope going through different stages learning new things everytime i upload , course, its not easy myself being european based , yet the internet helps me see & interact with american players meant my tone & knowledge grew ,still i was very surprised folks went for this jam , ,, so i Thank You guys out there , Mark Hansolar Adams lives on through All of us , Amen ,

i was never that much in to Smokey Robinson,,, besides it was before my time ,,although i do remember the "Brunswick" record label where many vocalists moved into his zone ,,hearing Danny Webster sing on this track has made me understand the magic of Smokey Robinson ,,thankyou for your in sight on this joint ,,"may the Stella funk be with you "
mark adams took that to another level so in love with that song very awsome:^)
Well done, Bean! You're a master of bass. Regards from Argentina
