So let’s get this straight. One of the best singers of the twentieth century, a chart-topping recording artist, and a world class guitar virtuoso. Then he comes out and tops it all with Scottish bag pipes. Players gonna play.
Alice is also a very fine songwriter and performer, bob Dylan said years back that he is a very fine songwriter that doesn't get the recognition that he deserves
Salute to Sir Glen Campbell, You came, sang, conquered everyone’s heart and gone but not gone out of our minds and hearts, amazing grace He is, God bless
Glen Campbell was an amazing singer, musician and entertainer and so underrated as well. He was one of the worlds best guitarists also and he had a beautiful singing voice! What a legend.
Wow. He is still surprising me after watching him for 50+ years. I was hoping he was going to return to the stage with his guitar. But, what did I see? Bagpipes? Glen, thank you for all the amazing moments you gave to us over the years. And they are still happening.
fantastic live version of this great gospel song by Glen Campbell. Great harmonies with the back-up singers and band. Glen was a true talent on the bagpipes as well.
Was there nothing this man couldn't play? Every instrument he touched, he mastered. The Lord called him to Heaven to master the harp which I'm sure he has. Such talent we on Earth lost to a Greater audience...😭
This is what is always means to play a great piece of classic music with passion and purpose. Let's just take a moment to accept and appreciate it's beautiful sound of God's love and grace through the people who have a great gift for us to enjoy
Glenn is one of my favorite singers and amazing grace is one of my favorite hymns. I'm blessed to hear Glenn sing my favorite songs and hymns. Such a beautiful man.
R.I.P. Glen. you'll be joining the saints singing your praises to the Lord in heaven now! Just one more giant lost to the world. You'll be forever missed!
I have, shamefully, only just heard about this version of Amazing Grace by Glen Campbell, for me, its EPIC! love his beautiful voice, this song, this video. So sad to know he passed away several years ago. RIP Glen😔
Beautiful performance ~ Glen Campbell was a Piper for nearly 45 yrs! A few bagpipe purists have told me that he wasn’t a REAL piper. I’ve played for 2 1/2 years, and yes, I can hear that he doesn’t exactly play the ancient “embellishments” (and ONLY those). Yet he has applied modern “ornamentation” beautifully to his Piping. Fine by me.
Time takes such a terrible toll on every living thing. Grew up listening to Dick Bills and His Sandia Mountain Boys, featuring lead guitarist Glen Campbell. Coming to you live weekdays from KOB Radio, 770 AM in Albuquerque.
I love this hymn and have sung it in church my entire life. The best part for me is that by the Amazing Grace of God and through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as having paid my sin debt in full, I truly once was blind but now I see. I was saved over 44 years ago and have never been the same person since!
Charlotte Fairchild - Aw c'mon. They can be tuned. The problem is so many so called pipers don't know how to. Another problem is most people listening don't know the difference and wouldn't know a good piper if they fell over them. Anyway....Do you know the difference between a dead snake on the road and a dead piper on the road? There's skid marks before the snake. Don't blame me for that one. I'm a piper.
@@susieq9801 spot on ,.most people don't know what a well tuned set should sound like ,chanter and drones should be in harmony not fighting against each other....
@@mudskipper0075 - As you are obviously aware, that's not only true for a solo piper but if a band isn't tuned spot on to each other the sound waves cancel each other and the volume and tone of the band goes down the tubes. If 5 pipers are tuned together properly, they have more volume and tone than 15 that aren't.
He was great but he’s got it wrong the song was English and not Scottish like they keep on saying wrote in a town in Buckingshire England by a preacher of the town called Olney

I can do the triangle, does that count?
Indeed. Glen was one of the greatest.
I love your crisp, succinct perfect evaluation.

I always loved it when he played the bagpipes... especially little drummer boy and mull of kintyre

Yeah, they are likely jealous of his overall talent, which was incredible. How many pipers can sing, play bagpipes and guitar and banjo?

Wow!! Didn't even know he could play those... until now??!! I was born in May of 1964!!
It is so sad that he now doesn't remember what a talent he had. It breaks my heart for him.
he's lost too much & can't remember the rest of it!!

Just beautiful. What else can you say?

A bag pipe musician once asked me, "How do you get two bagpipes to play in tune? Shoot one of the players." Bagpipe is not an easy instrument!

He didnt qoute wether the song was English or Scottish, but he did mention The Scotts Dragoon Guards who has played this for years
Disappointed that Gken faked the Bagpipes.
Huh?
No chance in 'faking' bagpipes, look at his cheeks full of air blowing down them pipes, that! Isnt 'faking'
terrible absolutely terrible
