The Double Undercut is a fundamental technique for card control. It can be used to control a selected card to the top of the deck, or to secretly move a number of cards from the bottom of the deck to the top (and vice versa).

After a double undercut a good way to make the spectators think the card is lost is doing a riffle shuffle. A riffle shuffle looks totally legit but you can easily keep the top card on top and/or the bottom card on the bottom.

I always find this cut unnatural and avoiding using it. Spectators are used to cuts from the top. So what is a good reason for undercutting? As soon as they see this they know something is going on.
I do the pinky break and double cut from the top. Pretty much the same moves, but seems more natural to me. 😎

If you want to cut from the top simply keep the bottom half stationary and move the top half to the right. Place the top half underneath.
Exactly, I always avoid this undercut. It is also more messy as cards don't align well and need to be squared.
