The cork oak (quercus suber), is native to the Alentejo and is one of the most common tree species in Portugal. The process of removal, done once every 9 years, involves removing the outer bark. You can see the stripping of the bark in the Alentejo, and a red tee indicates it has had its bark recently removed.

We have an apartment near Alicante and yarn bombing is very popular there too. I think it's just to add a bit of colour to the area. There's a park in Guardamar that has crocheted squares high up between the trees to create shade, very pretty

Low emission zones are now in force across more parts of France than ever before, and drivers can face fines of up to £154 if they don't plan ahead.
Im sure you do it was on the sky news today and just wanted to make sure you dont get a fine in case its a very new thing.

Fabulous vibe in Albufeira, love the tree lined streets and little bars and shops. It’s finally stopped raining here in Yorkshire, but only for a couple of days. More rain on way for weekend. I’m not jealous, honest😉😉

We did a day tour when we visited Portugal. The driver was a mine of information and he explained the rules of harvesting cork and there are limits on how much you can remove. he also showed us a tree that provides a unique bi-product and without it you would not be able to buy Haribos. As for waves, go to worlds end. We went on the tour, it was believed that the world ended there as they only had small boats and stayed close to land. There is a photo of waves reaching the top of the lighthouse that is on the cliff edge - good enough Mark? you might have to go back in winter
It seems to be a thing in Portugal we stayed in lidls in Loule down the south of Portugal which was a lovely town enjoy x

Try Camping Albufeira not sure on price but lovely site . Great swimming pools and entertainment and showers very clean . Might be worth trying after high season . Love watching you guys 😊
