So nice!!!
Thank you Marcelo!
Beautiful
Thank you Stephen! 🍻
Nice work. Looks great. Do you create long stem pipes like from the Fur Trade era?
I love the pipe brother. Have you got a spare one knocking about. Easy posting i live in Dover in Kent. UK. I'm sitting on the white cliffs of Dover without a pipe of my own. Are you feeling sympathy yet? 😢.I'm only jesting mate. Do love your work though. First class old chap. Stay happy. Kind regards Simon. ✌😎.

@@sherwoodpipes valeu bro!
Hello there Sherwood pipes - I have been a pipe smoker for twenty years now and that pipe you made is just superb and very like a rusticated Mastro de Pajo I love - one of my three pipes, the other tow being Peterson´s. Do you make pipes to sell ? I would very much like to commission one, do you have a website of email ?
Hello there! Thanks for the kind words! I am glad you enjoyed the video as well as my work! I do indeed sell my pipes, I mostly operate through Instagram which is @sherwoodpipes, however if you do not have IG you can email me at sherwoodpipes@gmail.com
So glad i came across your channel. I remember as a boy (some years ago now lol) my neighbor smoked a pipe and the smell was so good. I don't think I've seen anyone smoke one since. Hope this isn't a silly question but do you smoke for the taste or do you inhale the smoke? Great channel, love the craftsmanship.
Thanks for the comment Brandon! Personally I don't inhale when smoking a pipe, it's more about enjoying the flavor and the relaxation and peace of mind that comes with smoking a pipe.
great video! you are able to achieve a lot with that drill press. I think you would benefit greatly from a lathe. thanks for sharing
Thanks brother! I love my drill press and sure put it to use. A lathe is definitely on my list of tools to purchase tho!
I have a grizzly lathe, which I love, but I still end up doing most of the work by hand and with my drill press like in this video.
Lathes are cool, but for pipe making, mine doesn't really help me a whole lot.
So is the red part plastic or can you bend wood with heat like that?
Привет. Из какого материала сделана ваша трубка и муштук?
Such an awesome looking pipe. Wow! Where do I buy it? Fantastic skills. If I may say, it was frustrating watching because of the video quality.
Thank you my friend! This pipe is still available if you are interested! I do most of my business over Instagram, if that works for you shoot me a message there @sherwoodpipes
I definitely agree about the video quality 😅 I actually videoed everything in 1080p however I had some issues exporting it and lost a bit of quality. I'm definitely a RUclips noob haha but will hopefully be able to have better quality footage in future videos.
Is there a way to see what you have available without Instagram?
@@mrbrown3546 Yes! You can email me at sherwoodpipes@gmail.com or reach out to me on Facebook, my page is Sherwood Pipes.
👏👏👏👏❤
what wood are you using and where are you buying your stems?
cool ASMR vid
Unintentional ASMR haha 😆
I am using Briar wood here which I get from Vermont freehand, and I get most of my stem blanks from exoticblanks.com
What material is your stem blank made of?
I've just buying mine in bulk from China. But they are plastic and cheap and cheesy.
What wood type would you recommend for a beginner? Something that will last a while but also easy to work with?
Briar is what is most commonly used, and you can find lower grad blocks of it online for pretty cheap. Also is not very difficult to work with in my opinion either. Hope that helps! And good luck!
@@sherwoodpipes thank you!
In my studies of this amazing craft, I have learned that you have to be careful. What kind of wood to use. Some woods like cedars and evergreens are not good for you. But any of your fruit or nut trees that you would use to smoke meats with are great for pipe bowls. I prefer cherry just because it's so dang hard. And pretty
Haven't found many lathe-free builds on youtube. Nice.
Hey! Nice job, congrates from France! x)
I would just say the stucked stem can be a problem for me, to clean it up. Not really an issue but need more time and attention to clean maybe..! But nice work!
Hi Bob! That you for the comment! I appreciate the constructive criticism as well! I am however, a bit unsure what you mean by "stucked stem"? Would love to know what that term means so I can learn more about it and correct my methods if necessary
@@sherwoodpipes Sorry for my bad english! I meant "glued" i think! x)
@@BobBob-xf7ws no need to apologize my friend! I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment in a language which isn't your native tongue! Thank you!
I'd love to hear more about the issues you have with a glued in tenon! I do not have a lathe which is why I use a delrin tenon instead of turning it straight from the acrylic/ebonite. So far it has worked out well for me and hasn't seemed to cause me any issues :)
Isn't epoxy thermoreactive?
Me gustaría mandarte a fabricar algunas para mi cómo te contacto?
I'm just getting into this personally yesterday out of the blue i was like "I wanna make a pipe" and I did but out of cedar then to find out after the fact, cedar is poisonous.. needless to say im in search for some cherry wood,
Hahaha well I hope you still enjoyed making it, even if it's not usable. There are some good suppliers online you can buy good quality wood used for pipe making. I'm partial to Vermont freehand.
@@sherwoodpipes yaa, i made another one "2nd one" out of oak, do you have discord or a way i could communicate with you outside of youtube by chance?
@@_HuckleBerry I don't have discord unfortunately, best way is to message me on Instagram @sherwoodpipes
I messaged ya on instagram
I got lucky and got a 50 lb onion bag full of cherry wood pieces for smoking meats from a guy that sells firewood.
Check your local firewood dealers and ask them about cherry or black walnut or any of your local sawmills. They'll sell these little pieces thinking that they're not good for anything for fairly cheap.
Interesting. You're the second ever person whith this family name I know of.
That is interesting! Its not a very common name, at least on the west coast where I am.
die nehme ich :)
The camera it is too far, the same way thanks.
Thanks for the feedback! Will definitely try to get better camera angles in the future
