@@AllAboutAvatar. I, unfortunately, know from experience... It was so cathartic to see Zuko managing to defend himself in the way that he did, and characters like him have always been my favourites when it comes to these types of interactions.
6:55 "maybe he can pass down to you the ways of tea and failure" This really hit me hard because it really shows you what kind of person ozai is. He sees Iroh as a failure, even though Iroh is the wisest character in the show. It shows how messed up ozai's values are
I think that line makes Zuko using lightning redirection against Ozai even more impactful. Ozai must know it was taught to Zuko by Iroh. So much for the so called ''failure''.
What's worse is, Iroh's failure grew him as a person, before said 'failure' he's as capable if not more to be a Firelord. He even learned the true ways of Firebending, the comics further proves that Ozai's only quality to rival Iroh politically is his scheming.
I also love how Mark Hamill uses his voice acting to portray ozai and how he is trying all his different manipulation tactics to try and keep zuko under his thumb
My other favorite scene is uncle Iroh grieving his lost son, after a day of helping others, singing that song "Leaves from the vine, falling so slow." Such a powerful scene. It also showed in that episode though that he processes and deals with his grief, and doesn't let that stop him from being a good person. I like how he always believed in Zuko.
8:26 It just clicked that Ozai was going to straight up shoot a bolt of lightning to his son and he didn't know that lightning-redirection was a thing... affectably killing or seriously hurting Zuko for, again, talking out of turn. You also made me realize that fight was a rematch of when Zuko got the scar, except this time he fought back. Zuko didn't just fight Ozai with fire bending, he used the move that OZAI'S brother invented(iroh), and iroh extrapolated it from OZAI'S enemies(waterbenders), and delivered by OZAI'S son(Zuko). Seriously man chef's kiss , Thanks for the 10 minutes of pure dopamine
This scene is perfection 👌 I don't think I've ever resonated with anything as much as zuko standing up to his father. For anyone who has suffered abuse, mentally or physically; literally every word he says has some profound meaning of what ozai did wrong and why iroh and aang will give him his rightful path.

It really must have eaten Ozai up inside when he realized he can’t touch Zuko in anyway possible anymore after he shot his lightning back at him. I’m pretty sure you could even see that he was thinking that by that look on his face right after Zuko left the room.
You can also see the genuine fear Ozai had when he saw Aang about to redirect lightning at him because he knew only one person could've taught him that move.
@@DerrickTan74 Yeah that’s true too. Assuming of course that he didn’t know that Iroh also had that ability. He might have assumed that Zuko had learned it from him because of all the years they had been together and how close they were.
If Aang did lose the battle with Ozai and Ozai was able to become the Phoenix King of the Four Nations, his first order of business no doubt would the immediate man-hunt and execution of the former Prince Zuko.
@@Seminooos Iroh would have forsure been #2 on the list. Just the other day I was thinking this is also my favorite scene! I even agree with the other ones you mentioned at the beginning. I would just add the scene right after learning lightening redirecting and trying to use it screaming the heavens that it's thrown everything at him and now he can take it and give it back. That is so similar to some of my most darkest moments crying out at the cruelty of the universe that I get a lump in my soul every time. Kataras face off with Pakku was my favorite scene. I always get chills watching it. The fact that she was able to hold her own against him being self taught is amazing in itself. But even more impressive she stands up agains the sexism that is instilled in the north’s foundation. Obviously Pakku held back but he was clearly caught off guard by her strength. I understand many dislike Katara but her character is so amazing and she would of made an amazing Avatar.
The best scene is the end of the fight in zuko alone. Beaten down, he remembers his mother telling him to never forget who he is. And he embraces his firebending roaring back to life massively overpowering the earthbender thug and terrorizing him. He publicly announces his identity and title proudly and respects the crowd even when they turn on him
yeeeeessss!!!! I also loved the scene right after the fight when Zuko went to the child to give him the knife and he yelled back "I hate you". Urgh, when I was a child I got chills from that, that was really heavy for me. The way he just left the place without another word... sad but legendary.
My favourite scene is Zuko finding Appa in Ba Sing Se and then Iroh comming in and telling Zuko the one thing he needs to do that starts his change in character. "It is time for you to look inward and ask yourself the big questions: who are YOU and what do YOU want?"
When Iroh teaches Zuko about lightning redirection he tells Zuko that the lightning must travel through your stomach to be redirected. Later, from Guru Pathik, we learn that the stomach is where the fire chakra is located. We are also told that it deals with willpower and is blocked by shame. She's kind, firm, inventive, fierce, and even ruthless at times.
When zuko is walking away from ozai u can’t see his scared side u can only see his non scared side of his face which means that his scar represents his trauma so not seeing his scar after he’s confronted ozai means that he has now moved passed his trauma
To me, the best scene was the one where Iroh gets a tea shop. Gave a beloved side character a win and zuko was finally able to be happy for someone for a change instead of obsessing over his own life 24/7. Plus, who doesn't like seeing Iroh get to live his dream and serve tea?

I feel like every main character has a really good scene like Zuko, but his redemption arc is something that really makes me pay attention to his story instead of only Aang’s ever since I first watched the show. There are scenes like Katara facing her mother’s killer that fill in more of the story, but that’s Katara’s own arc and it’s basically just about learning how to water bend and be more forgiving to others, like Zuko. And Toph’s arc is all about her accepting help, even if she did invent metal bending. I haven’t figured out Sokka’s arc yet. And Aang is constantly changing through the series because it’s about him. Ok, I’m done.💜
I think throughout the show sokka realised women can be powerful too (like when he used to be overprotective of sukki and even make fun of her when he first met her) but also that he didn’t need to be a bender to be useful in a fight
Sokkas arc is similar to Ron’s in Harry Potter. Both are fairly weak characters surrounded by some of the biggest prodigies in their respective universes, and they have feelings of insecurity and ineptitude throughout the series. Their arcs are finding their place within these groups and realizing their value despite not being one of the greatest benders/wizards.
Sokka has a lot of storyline arcs though, from learning what it means to be a leader to learning how to treat others, mostly women, with respect, to learning how to be a better fighter and then he’s constantly being used as comedy relief. The show doesn’t really focus on one specific storyline for Sokka, but rather makes him more memorable. Honestly, the best two story arcs in my opinion are Zuko and Toph. Just my own opinion though.
I have to disagree here. I context, knowing what Zuko knows in this scene, his refusal to throw the lightning right back into Ozai's chest is an act of almost unbelievably callous selfishness. He is knowingly, willingly choosing to place the lives of *millions* at risk of a horrific fiery death at the hands of a genocidal dictator who he knows for sure will totally go through with it, all so he can... prate about destiny? Feel like the bigger man for a few minutes? Leaving Ozai alive here is an absurdly immoral thing for him to do, knowing what he knows.
@@Lulu-ew7oh They'd have to deal with Azula anyway, depriving her of her primary driving force would not in any way make her more dangerous. And in any case Ozai is more powerful than she is.

It is one of my favorite moments but not My Top 1.
I agree with zuko facing ozai as the best scene
Where he went from Zuzu to Zuko
I have to disagree here. I context, knowing what Zuko knows in this scene, his refusal to throw the lightning right back into Ozai's chest is an act of almost unbelievably callous selfishness. He is knowingly, willingly choosing to place the lives of *millions* at risk of a horrific fiery death at the hands of a genocidal dictator who he knows for sure will totally go through with it, all so he can... prate about destiny? Feel like the bigger man for a few minutes? Leaving Ozai alive here is an absurdly immoral thing for him to do, knowing what he knows.
Than they would have to deal with azula someone more deadly and seeing how she conquered an entire city
And her ability to track being on par with zuko she would most definitely would have made the situation worse
@@Lulu-ew7oh They'd have to deal with Azula anyway, depriving her of her primary driving force would not in any way make her more dangerous. And in any case Ozai is more powerful than she is.
@@akuinator6350 zuko killing their father and becoming a full blown trader just to help their enemy would make her more dangerous
@@akuinator6350 And again she took over a city somethings that fire nation had problems with doing with for 100 years
Kind of odd all the best scenes involve zuko
