    at my hub, small sort has 2 jobs. The full bags come in on a belt and you have to unzip them and lift them, then shake all the packages out. That was actually pretty physically hard, it was not easy. The other job is sorting the packages into the bins, sending them down, and replacing the bins. This was much easier and I actually found it to be fun. I'm not sure, but there's no way the de-bagging part is one of the easiest jobs.

    I just wanna let you know that I have appreciated your time and effort to make this video and share your experiences with working in small sort at UPS. My question is are there any jobs in small sort that are harder than other jobs or is it about the same and how is your initial supervisor verses the manager over all of small sort as far as how they interact with you? I work for UPS in Indianapolis Indiana.

    • @TommieMarie
      @TommieMarie  2 года назад

      There’s one part of small sort that is really fast paced but I didn’t get to really view it. I only saw that portion on the initial tour. There were many managers and the ones at my hub helped out as well. I didn’t have any bad experiences with them. I called out twice I believe and they were understanding. But I did have to follow up with the direct manager bc the shift manager didn’t tell them that I wasn’t coming in so always cover yourself and let everyone know.

If it is true that you don't have to work those days?? I also was wondering if you or anyone knew about shift schedules and if its consistent most of the time. I was signed up to work Sunday-Thursday 12-5pm however I'm wondering if Fridays and Saturdays I will still have off as I have things already on my schedule in the next coming weeks and if I can let my manager or supervisor know ahead of time without any issues? I also do not mind work a double to avoid working my off days is that a thing I can do? If anyone knows anything on that please let me know! Well I've been working at ups for about a week and I do "small sort" and I really hate it I mean my supervisor even told me just because I do small sort that I will still be lifting boxes and those boxes are 70 pounds you don't even see any females lifting box's it's men from what I saw my supervisor also told me that I will be loading the trucks lifting those heavy ass boxes um ah no I dont think so if I am currently job hunting right now and if I get another job✌️ it's a good thing I'm only doing part time because there is no way in hell I could do it full time the only females you see on the job are mostly managers and supervisors. My trainee told me on the first day of the job there will be a like about 5 to 10 ppl in training class and by the end of the week it's less than half of the class ppl are gone he said some ppl quit after 3 days of work ladies even some dude's are quitting this job.hmmm I wounder why🤔 i mean from what i experienced it's basically slave work they told me that when peak season comes well all have to work Sundays through Fridays i already work 5 days a week Fri and Sat are my only 2 days im off my trainee also told me that before I leave check out with my supervisor but when its time to go home I should ask my supervisor is there anymore work I should do and when it's time to go home if my supervisor tells me to stay I have to stay to do more work gtfoh the job is slave work and if anybody is considering it think twice especially females. Ladies BEWARE.
