I didn't know much about this war. The beauty of this song has led me to broaden my knowledge about the way Sarajevo people tackle this terrible conflict. They kept on living in a "normal" way as much as they could, meeting other people, playing music, socializing in underground tunnels and basements. Unbelievable. My deepest respect goes to these people, to their courage, resilience and stubbornness. ❤️
We have been fighting for one thousand years, and we will keep fighting. Nothing will take Sarajevo or Bosnia away from us. Even when the world turned it's head, and we were surrounded on all sides, we came out alive.

I was born in very late 80s in Bosnia, some of my first childhood memories were having to flee our home and live in surrounded areas for 3 and a half years. I didn't live in Sarajevo, which was a horror on its own during those times, but every place in the country was in one way or another destroyed by the invaders. I just remember hearing this song for the first time waaaay later, maybe mid 2000s when everything was over and I was a teenager looking for new music. I couldn't actually believe they held Miss competition, Eurovision competition, even started up a movie festival that grew to become the biggest film festival in the Balkans nowadays. Survivors in the war, and especially the resilience of civilians, is such an inspiring thing. I never wish on anyone to have to experience that kind of fear, as a kid or as a grown up. But at the same time, in a very weird way, it helped me become a better man. Don't get me wrong, I'd still like to beat the shit out of all those quasi-soldiers who shot at my hometown when I just wanted to play outside like a normal kid. Then I'd throw them in lifetime prison.

Pavarotti the voice is unique, ,,BEAUTIFUL
When I introduced this song to my late mum, she thought it was the most beautiful thing she ever heard. ..She loved Pavarotti, me being U2 fan.

What harrowing brilliance. To pair Bono and Pavarotti is sheer genius. Humbling brilliance. Thank you
Sarajevo is a HERO city.

Batyr Gaparov It was Obama’s administration that outsourced the viral experimentation on the Covid Virus plus enhancement to a laboratory in Wuhan to get around US banning gave them millions sowed the seeds and now America reaps the Whirlwind. Worst President in American history.
