Yep this is the crux of it. Many/most captains in international cricket won't be saying their plans out loud in English (cricket being a british empire spread game formerly right?). The captains usually would have lowkey private conversations on these tactics.
Great to see you guys and your appreciation of this great game. I'm impressed with your understanding of the game from such a short exposure. You must react to the great Dennis Lillee, incredible fast bowler.
Love the reactions guys. Should be easy to find Warnie commentating his own over in a BBL TTwenty when he told the viewers exactly what he was going to bowl every delivery, then got Brendon MacCullum out after he told us exactly how he was going to get him. Amazing stuff, what a bowler. Still sadly missed.
Just like whether the impact is outside the line of off stump, or the ball is bouncing outside the line of the leg stump, the umpire is expected to rule in favour of the batsman when he advances down the pitch such that the impact is over 3 meters away in front of the stumps. The reasoning here is probably that the ball has a long distance to travel and predicting that such a delivery would hit the stumps involves a lot of conjecture.
The man you heard coaching was none other than the man, the myth, the legend MS Dhoni himself. Under his captaincy, India won two world cups and a champions trophy.
the madar**od word means mf, just with a deeper emotion in hindi slang the "no runnn" thing is that player's trademark style after almost every ball, when he wants to tell his partner not to run. At some point it became simply funny. they showed a lot of clips of MS Dhoni the Indian wicketkeeper's stump mike convos, not because they were funny as such but he's considered one of the best keepers and captains.
With the India vs South Africa game (8:00 to 11:00), with some of it they're speaking Hindi. You're seeing the translation - there's a very good chance that the South African batters won't understand a word of it. BTW, as far as hearing strategy directly from the field, with some T20 games the TV commentators will have one fielder mic'ed up to comment between deliveries on what's going on!
Marnus:who is your fav player Gill:I will tell after match Marnus: after ball... Sachin??? This happened just after Gill spotted in a Restaurant with Sara (Sachin 's daughter)

The reviewed decision was doubtful because of the distance to stumps. It becomes guess work with the software so they cannot make a decision on it. The decision was not out.
Its very rarely that you get such detailed calls on the mic, But then that was M.S dhoni... best there is... all major indian cricketers including sachin have played under his captaincy and we won the first t20 world cup and the awaited 2011 ODI world cup under him. ALL CRICKETERS regardless of their opinions agree for a fact that:- 1. he was calm and collected as a captain till the last ball be it either as chasing or fielding and 2. due to him being a wicket keeper/batsman he had insane technical knowledge and intuition of the field due to the experience of watching matches from behind the stumps.... due to the IPL even foreign players playing under got to witness the same. Unequivocally technical calls. when he surrendered captaincy while still in the team eg. like when kohli was captain, it was not a rare sight for them to always discuss on-field positions/ calls with dhoni first, many times for each and every ball. They allowed dhoni to even directly call strats at many points even though usually it is the captain doing so. that was his respect.
The last 3 to 4 mins were all Dhoni's words. You can make a whole video of him guiding players and making fun of his own team. He rarely sledges though, but many times because of his advice, bowlers(Specially Spinners) get wickets..
It's called sledging, so many clever quips, one that sticks in my mind while I was bowling at a batter that kept playing and missing, my wicketkeeper shouted to me, " hey Johnnie, bowl him a piano, see if he can play that ! " Every one in earshot completely cracked up including the two batters.
5:35 Is Adam Gilchrist. The ball came off the batters glove. And was called not out. Back in those days players like Adam Gilchrist and most of the Australian team had a policy of being honest. Adam Gilchrist having done this several times himself and walked off the field despite being called NOT OUT Basically that player knew he hit it. And Gilly is roasting him for being a bad person. Nothing personal. No Venom. Just pure logic "The whole world is watching mate" is him saying "This is what you will be known for"
Probably similar to Baseball in U.S. in previous decades. Where the catcher and fielders would trash talk or engage in conversation to put a batter or pitcher off his game or think about something else. Also I think a Cricket Captain would be very similar to a Team Baseball Manager in Baseball making all the changes and strategies and picking the team. Only difference is the Captain is a player in the middle of the field with other players in Cricket. Due to the design of Baseball field and the position of the baseball dugouts. A Baseball manager even though he is not participating is close to the action and can go upto the bases or the pitcher. THere are a lot of similarities in culture between especially American or Canadian Baseball and Cricket. I would love to see similar things being picked up from Major League Baseball from the U.S. from past decades. They might not do it as much as they used to. But sometimes trash talking in Baseball is captured in the movies and is very similar to trash talking in cricket especially when Australian cricketers are involved. ruclips.net/video/JZbJcEKVBqk/видео.html
Bro , cricket it's like kind of strategic games, when i bowl, i know where the batsman gonna hit them , and i will keep my fielder's there ... like a trap
Hawke eye can't make a reliable prediction if they are hit more than 3 metres from the stump. Umpire's call stands, and you don't lose your a review. It may have been different awhile back.
Regards to the weird rule with the Umpire, there's a few things at play, firstly you have to understand, in a player review like that, there is something called "Umpires Call" where, if the ball is not fully hitting the stumps on the Tracker, it stays with the Umpire's on field decision, even if it might be clipping the stumps on the tracker. So what I think is happening in that clip is, that the ball bounced too far away from the Stumps (3 meters) so Hawkeye (the Tracking camera/computer) wouldn't have been as accurate in it's prediction, so the challenge was nullified, even though it looked like it was going to favour the challengers. Also, Smith is just, rather hilariously, shouting "No Run!" to his partner so they know he isn't going to move. I have no idea why he was making it so funny, but he is a bit of an oddball :'D
There really is nothing like playing the game to learn the game, but given limited options to do that watching test cricket is the best way to learn strategy. You can extrapolate that to the shorter games because the truncated forms of the game are using short cuts on long form strategy, or evolving new ones, but long form is the starting point. The commentators, most of whom are ex-players, will often explain little details. Unfortunately to really know the intricacies of tactics it does take a lot of watching.
if your ok i can come live with you for one video of cricket because we are grown up by playing and watching cricket in india we know inch inch in cricket . i stay in france now so if it is ok please reply me thanks

Yep they just made the rule at the time that the technology isn't reliable so far away from the stumps so it won't overturn decisions at that range.
