Great review, I just bought the Logitech G29, the main reason is that in my country theres no local Thrustmaster retail, and importing it form the US the price goes way above $600 while the Logitech locally with warranty sits around $350, so I guess it should be good enough.
Also I saw other reviews that thrustmaster's software isnt as friendly as Logitech's, I own a logitech gaming mouse and software is simple to use, saves profiles for the games and changes to it automatically , and its the same software for the G29, since the unified all their products using G HUB

what are the definitive disadvantages ?
Dead zone in the middle stuck out for me
I am okay with the clunky gear drive feel or the less precise FBB.

    • @Thunspeed
      @Thunspeed 3 года назад +1

@@utubuddy Yeah I also notice that g27,g29 has pretty wide deadzone. I don't know if T300 has it too because I can't notice any. Also logitech ffb is too slow and weak. I have a hard time trying to learn drifting with it and when I learnt it. It is still took me too much effort to drift for a long session. T300 is a lot more easy to drift and take less energy. Like during transition from left to right drift I need to help the g27 wheel turn to catch the car because wheel is not turning fast enough and makes the car spin. T300 wheel turns fast enough to catch the car by itself. In circuit races it is easier to catch when the rear accidentally slip too. Also I can feel better where the car limit is during corner too.

How about thr TX RW Leather edition .
I've read it's the same drive as t300 except the 900 vs 1080 degree movement.
If that's the case, I'd go with the tx leather as I'm getting a pretty good bundle for the TX RW leather with t3pa over the t300rsgt.

I started off with T150 and thought it was good value for the money. When I decided to upgrade I decided against Thrustmaster (TGT) after seeing a few videos that suggested the quality wasn't there compared to the Fanatec, and worse was their customer service when/if you had an issue. I’m considering a new wheel after 6 years with my g29. The wheel still works however the potentiometers on the pedals are pretty worn. There are times where the throttle is completely stuck open and I have to punch it for it to get unstuck. I have even cracked the wheel open and cleaned the potentiometers. T300GTE is like the RS, but with a Ferrari GTE looking wheel.
T300 Ferrari Integral has the 30cm 599xx EVO Alcantara wheel and a T3PA pedal set.

I got a G29 in April and just upgraded to T300 GT yesterday. Totally agree with all you're comments. IMO its all about the wheel base. The T300 feels much closer to a DD. I feel in GT7 the T300 wheel gives much finer detail, can really feel where the edge of traction is, I actually have been getting faster lap times. I recon the T300 is the one to go for, as the only real downside is the leather. I can get all the functionality I need with the T300 buttons. Price wise I payed £166 for G29 and £258 for T300. I sent the G29 back. Next upgrade will be load cell pedals. Very informative vid.

As much as I'd love to get another Logitech wheel for the wheel itself, I think I'm done with their ecosystem (at least, joysticks and wheels) after the myriad issues my G27 has given me. Thrustmaster doesn't depend as much on their proprietary configuration software for their stuff to work properly, even if build quality is an issue on their low and mid tier stuff. I'm already investing in premium space sim gear, but I don't do enough sim racing to justify going up to a Fanatec setup. Sounds like the Thrustmaster might be a good fit.

So, I have to reinstall the software literally almost every time I use it, because that's the only fix I could find.

But at the same time i don't have any problems with it, it's just looks outdated but have all the settings the new software has to offer. For me it's plug and play and i don't have to mess with the Logitech Profiler settings at all after i dialed it in the way i wanted it.
For me it sounds like the root of your problem is somewhere else. Did you try to use a different USB? Maybe you have a USB hub or a PCI USB card to test it there or the other way around. Do you use Windows 10 and if yes when was the last time you did a clean install of it?
My experience for example for VR is that Windows can mess up so many things after months/years of updates where some didn't delete all unnecessary files or something went wrong when updating the files. So my rule of thumb is to clean install Windows once a year or at least every two years and yes i know how much work this can be.

I’ve been hoping the t300 to go on sale for Black Friday but so far I’ve haven’t found any. 👎

Good luck buddy. They're totally worth it. Personally I think the T300 wheel feels great. The button layout is clean and feels really well built. Center of wheel and paddle shifters are solid metal. Beautiful

But the Logitech wheel is ugly. I'm sure it feels better, but looking at it, the t300 wheel is prettier.

I went with the G29 because the reviews for the T300 scared me away.

Bruh, G29 is like 250 USD while the T300 RS is almost 400 it is 10 times better of course...

T300 alone costs more than G29+Shifter, so in price they are not even close.
Sure if you buy their LoadCell pedals and their 200bucks Shifter and their Handbreak... if you have so much money to trow you might aswell go for TS-PC or fanatec.
G29+Shifter is around 250-300 VS T300 with 2 pedals 320+ with 3 pedals around 380-400, as we can already see the T300 with 3 pedals is 100bucks higher if we give +200 for shifter we are already more than double the price.
The thing is the T300 seems to have much worse quality control than G29 for some reason, many suggest to go for TS-PC version to get better quality wheel but that wheel doesn't support ps4-5 i think and the other option is fanatec those wheels are around 500-600+.
If we take the TS-PC/fanatec+shifter+pedals we are at 1000-1200 and i bet we will want a handbreak and a seat/stand for it, but that way the money is going out of the roof.
Sure Thrustmaster has better upgrade path but in the end of the day you will change the wheel plus that so called upgrade path works with G29 aswell on PC with their THRUSTMASTER 4060079 T.RJ12 USB ADAPTER that cost more than the Logitech shifter for some reason.
Logitech G29+Shifter 250-300 bucks is the true Starter Wheel for me.
    T300 RS GT(3 pedals)+Shifter is Mid range around 580-600.
    TS-PC/Fanatec+shiter+pedals 1200+ high end(ideal).
anything beyond the Fanatec csl is extra.
