Gold: hot water and dish soap Silver: (for tarnishing)line a tray with aluminum foil, use boiling water and baking soda then rinse, wash with hot water and dish soap.
I have a 26 inch 14k 5MM cuban, workout almost everyday so it gets sweaty. I clean mine at least once a week with hot water and dawn. Best advice I can give is use a baby toothbrush. It's softer, not as abrasive as an adult toothbrush and won't scratch your jewelry.
Thought I’d share this. I bought a 14k vintage rope about 30-40 years old and it had some redish tarnish, might’ve even been rust. No matter how much I cleaned and polished it I couldn’t get the stuff off. Even a professional jeweler couldn’t get it off. One day I tried this stuff called Never Dull and the tarnish came off immediately. I use this stuff even on me new pieces and it makes them look almost as if my chains were fresh from the manufacture.
I clean mine with soap and water and then buff with a micro fiber cloth. If it’s scratched I use white toothpaste (the non shiny kind with baking soda). I rub the toothpaste into the chain using circular motions. Then I rinse and buff with a cloth. Can use this method for gold or silver. For tarnishing on silver I take tin foil and put it in the bottom of a glass. Put a spoon full of baking soda in. Put hot water in. Put chain on top of tin foil. Wait a couple minutes and VIOLA.
Thanks for the video man. I Purchased 2 flat curb chains and a mariner bracelet from you and wear them to work often and was just thinking on how to clean them. Your the man Jacoje!
Actually thank you so much I’m 13 about havingMy chances I was in fifth grade I’m in seventh grade this thing needed to be clean immediately and you’re the best video I’ve ever seen thank you so much I clean my room and my necklace it was amazing
My Guy! Best jeweler hands down! On your next one can you put the cleaned chain back beside the new one for the before and after. Like you did at the beginning. Keep killin’em bro y’all karate SMASHHH that like button!
You should try to use bamboo toothbrushes for cleaning jewelry, and they’re much cheaper. I prefer them over plastic toothbrushes. Therefore it’s not great for the environment. If you want to keep on using the toothbrush for cleaning jewelry. I do recommend cleaning the toothbrush, and keep on using the plastic toothbrush for cleaning jewelry.
Thank you so much 😊👍🏽keep up the good work.also I just clean my jewelry just water and toothpaste with my toothbrush that's it real easy and works fine
I never see anyone mention rubbing alcohol. That’s why I soak mine in for both gold and silver and it works super quick and comes out shining like new. I wonder if I’m slowly ruining my jewelry?
I recommend hydrogen peroxide. That stuff is really useful to have around anyway it has many uses for cleaning and disinfecting. The stuff you can buy is only 3% pure hydrogen peroxide so it's not that strong. For example teeth whitening strips use about 8% pure hydrogen peroxide. Let's say you have a little wound in your mouth that you feel has just started to get infected. Then putting some hydrogen peroxide in your mouth and using it as mouthwash is a good first remedy. Don't drink it though lol. I even used it in my ear when I had a very minor infection and you could hear it bubbling which is caused by the chemical reaction. It got a bit dizzy first but after a couple minutes it felt pretty relaxing lol.
Some pieces I used like 500ml hot water and 1Tbsp salt + 1 Tbsp baking soda, a drop of dish soap. Just put the gold inside for a few minutes (2-5)... if there is still gunk i just rub with my finger and then the shine is back. I wonder if this is bad...? =)
Man i been staring at your website and videos past couple days. Trying to justify spending the $1000 on 22" franco diamond cut.....soon i will order once i convince myself.
@@jacoje I keep watching your videos on chain length. Torn between the 20 and 22. I dont plan on running a pendant. So think 20 or 22 would be best? Hopefully will order in the next few weeks. Either way I will be ordering from you in the future.
aye so I wore my 4mm moon cut chain I bought from you but didn't know I shouldn't wear it in the shower will this get that amazing shine back it originally came with?
Do you like Tribal jewelry??? I think they have some cool pieces. 2nd, I have invested in 99.99% Gold, Silver, Platinum and Palladium coins and bullion. Do you think it would be wise to have my jewelry made from my precious metals? And if so, who or what company would you trust?? I live in North Texas, about 15 minutes North of Dallas. Any information will be a blessing. TIA
i have a 14k gold rope chain and i was wondering if my lotion will make it less shiny because everytime i get out of the shower i put body cream (lotion) on, so should i try to not let the lotion get on it?
Oz Lang oh ok , thank you . I’m still trying to understand different karats, and that there is really no formula to the gold , like a 10k that has 41.7 gold and the rest can be silver ,copper , or any other alloy...... as long as it has its 41.7 gold it’s a 10k
Oz Lang yes, I thought so . Thank you for your time to ask and reply! But one last question, if that’s the case with other alloys being used with gold , is it possible for a real 10k with 417/1000 gold that has copper or brass in it tarnish slightly green overtime , this is with a long period of time of the peace not being cleaned ......

That one in the black jar/can that says “magic wadding polish”? 🤔

Not sure how it would react when heating up honestly. I like the hot/warm water solution though
I'll let you know how it comes out.
Will it work on silver chains?
Can this work with any necklaces? Because mines aren’t gold or silver there just from random stores-
