In 95 I bought a 100gr rope and a few yrs later around 2001 I got a 250 gram handmade Cuban link chain. Then I got a bezentine then a franco. Out of all the chains I had my Cuban never went out of style. You can’t go wrong with a Cuban in my opinion. If you like it, go ahead and get it. Worst case scenario, the franco ends up looking like solid rose gold. That's not a bad thing to me. And, it will take a long time and a lot of wear for that to even happen. Pull the trigger, you've got nothing to lose.
So do all chains with the white gold diamond cuts eventually fade away ? Because I have a cuban curb chain with the white gold diamond cuts but think it would look better without them
@@dillonyousonofabtch4221 yea I really doubt they ever do fade actually, maybe the shine factor of the white but it kinda surprised me when I heard him say it will just fade. Which I don’t believe is the case
Great video. Im a white gold girl...and I use to love a good herringbone, its a nice staple to a girls jewelry collection, but yes the dent and bends in them made it hard to choose another once i gave mine away as a gold scrap
All my chains are Halo never had any trouble with them have one is expensive as 2,500 when I bought it value was over $3,000 now. Do not listen to this do make your own decisions based off of quality as well as the size of the jury at the sizes big enough then it's not going to damage that easy if you get something Hollow then I mean that's a no-brainer.
Jacoje is just the best in my opinion I didn’t know much about gold a few back until I started buying gold chains from jacoje and now I’m an expert thanks to him !!! I went to downtown Los Angeles and the lady was charging me 2800 for a 4mm rope chain 20 and I told her I’ll Come back in 10 min let me go look around a bit more so she told look I’ll give it to u for 2200 dollars I can’t Denny it was tempting but I said no so she offer to give it to me for 1800 I was look I’ll come back I promise you just give me a few min so she told look 1500 is the lowest buy it right now is the best deal so at that point I just walk out mad becuase how did she go from 2800 to 1500 like Thas insane
Seems like a solid (standard gold, 14K or better, or platinum) cuban is simply the best if you get anything. No gems (to often people get screwed with gems), no complex patterns, no hollow.
I used to have a rope chain because I thought it was much more stronger to wear over time. But I was wrong. Also, about hollow jewelry, it is not worth it if we think about for long term. Thanks for this info.
I have 2-tone solid 10kt Figarro chain and matching bracelet with white (I guess rhodium?) accents. Wear them every day, don't take it off to sleep/shower and they both still looks great 20+ years later. Am I just lucky or were these made more resilient in the early 2000s?
I personally like the Saints Gold prism cut chains. I have their prism cut Franco and rope and they look great together. It's definitely a special occasion setup though because they're definitely very flashy which is why I prefer the smaller sizes like 3mm. I don't wear them nearly as much as my regular dc Franco's so hopefully they don't fade.
Asides ruining maybe the best link, it looks HORRIBLE and cheap, like some chain you'd get at a mall kiosk. Should have just got a plain Franco or diamond cut Franco, because it (the prism cut Franco) doesn't look fancy, it's the opposite it looks cheap and gimmicky. Also if the chain is quality, you shouldn't have to worry about it fading.
@@dannygreen5477I have the 6.5mm prism franco chain and bracelet and just got the 5.5mm prism rope chain and bracelet. These aren’t my every day chains but when I do wear them it’s maddd compliments.
I’ve purchased a Tri-Gold Rope chain 6mm 22in/24in from Jacoje and a Tri-Color 6mm 20 Rope Chain from SaintsGold and both have been tested and cameback 💯. Can only speak on TriGold and it’s lasted and still just as Shiny as day 1. I do triple stacks so they rub and they still perfect

Okay, glad you warned me about the 1mm rope chain. I'm in the market for something to put a pendant on so I'm removing the rope chains from possibilities.
I have three solid gold chains since 2019 and I never take them off. Shower, sleep, walk , work out, party, work, they never break. I had a hollow rope and it broke in my sleep and never again
Bought a chain from jacoje awhile back and was very pleased esp when it said it was just about 19g only to find out later when I went to 2 different jewelers who told me it was only 11g. Smh
isnt most white Gold rhodium plated? the 2 tone are both RG/WG or YG/WG so whats the problem there? white gold fades and yours looks alright after 13 years.. i feel this is taking shots at the Prism cuts, just my thoughts
Would that whole figaro in the video fade or just the white gold cuts? I haven’t seen a figaro higher than a 5.5mm on Jacoje’s site in a quite a while.
I have seen many gold chains being advertised online. Let's say there are chains the have the same specifications. Why are there huge price differences with chains? I've seen chains for $450.00 and the same type of chain is for $1200.00 elsewhere. Great content and commentary. Keep up the good work.
Just got a 2 tone Franco from an estate sale Good deal (solid of course) but I appreciate the knowledge knowing that it’s more than likely going to fade
i used to sleep with my 6mm rope that weighed less than 20gs from what i remember but it was 10k so a lot more durable than 14k+ considering it might be too weak to do the same for the same weight
Hey Braden! I bought a 4mm 14k Franko from you about 3 years ago and it is my everyday chain. I love the chain but unfortunately the weight of it seems to wear the jumper loops away. I've had to replace the rings twice and currently I am waiting to have them replaced again. I love the chain but those thin rings just don't hold up unfortunately.
do you get them replaced at a local jeweler? asking because i have a 5mm 14kt dc Franco from him as well. I also agree, those rings are super thin and i can tell they wear down, and i maybe wear the chain 2-3x a week lol
So am I better off buying a 2mm solid 22" over a 5mm 22" rope? I do love the look of the 5mm, but I want something to last more. Or does the thickness of the hollow 5mm make it stronger than the solid 2mm?
It has a lot of copper and nickel and might discolor your skin leaving behind unsightly tarnish. Some of my 10kt and even 14kt yellow gold jewelry does this. I've never had this happen with white gold.
Just a question I washed my Figaro gold chain w/ baking soda & dawn soap with lukewarm water & im not Sure if it just happened but the whole inside of my chain turned white??? & the outside is fine
@JACOJE LYNX question, do swapmeets sell good quality gold? For example, I recently bought a 3mm rope chain at a swapmeet for $160 and I went to one of personal jewelry guy and the same chain cost $600... immediately I can tell the more expensive chain and the quality of the gold was far better....
My mom had herringbone chain given to her by relative..unfortunately it was not long til it kinked! She went to jeweler and told her can't be fixed..she was devastated..she kept it and sold it when gold got high years ago
Not really a chain, but stay away from those bracelets with the fold-over lid-style closures. They WILL open when you least expect and next thing you know it’s gone. I’ve lost 2 bracelets like that. I guess it applies to any closure device that is not secure.
I wish i would've seen this a year ago, i bought a hollow rope already(got a Figaroa about 2 years ago from the same place, corner of 47th NYC ) and a Gold over Silver from Macy's. The first 2 I'm happy with but the Macy's, not so much.

Very informative! Thank you for being truthful about the different metals and styles. I love, love, love herringbone, but, you are right; mine just pulled apart. Very strange!!😊
The rope hollow chains are cool, just if you have little kids beware of them tuggin on it and then breaking it. You can repair but watch where u take it, some places will use metal instead of gold to fix
Yes ..i do buy all my gold only solid 18k 30g for my everyday used pure solid gold never taken off necklace and always bracelets ...solid is a must im happy to invest my money on gold only solid ...No hollow 😮 hate those
I’ve bought jewelry from Jacoje and saints gold and tbh both have the same quality neither of them are superior. I will say though Saints gold has better sales and promotions than Jacoje. Also customer service is on point with saints. For reference I bought a 7mm baby curb bracelet from Jacoje and the bracelet was short 2 grams and measure at 6.8 inches instead of 7in reached out to Braden and he said “there’s nothing he can do”. Showed a lot from the brand and went over to saints. Just recently I bought a Franco from saints and decided to wanana upsize the Franco weeks after receiving my original order. Chris from saints took my old chain back and sold me a bigger Franco. That speaks a lot.
I would say for white gold any yellow gold 2tone a pendant is always the go as depending on the type of pendant you get ypu can make the white gold to last forever
Hi! How about Omega chains? Are they as easy to damage as the herringbone chains? I am about to buy one of the two in solid gold 6mm, after watching your video I think herringbone is out of the question. Thank you for your informative videos!
Braden, Thanks for this informative and honest video. I've owned both herringbone and snake chains and they kink and/or ripple after a short time. There is no way to repair them, and you surely won't wear them as they do not hang properly. Had I know these chains would kink, I would have never purchased them. Save up for a quality chain that you can wear for a lifetime. #JACOJE
People will disagree with me but the main reason I like Jacoje for all my jewelry is because you DONT offer a ton of options. Hollow, Semi-Hollow, Moissanite, 8kt, 10kt etc. all the BS that is ruining the authenticity in the jewelry industry. Jacoje is solid gold, nothing below 14kt, and all natural diamonds. To me, jewelry is just one of those things that shouldn't be done if it cant be done right. Sure there is a 16 year old somewhere with $200 to his name that wants to "ball on a budget" and we were all at some point that kid - but let that type of customer go to these other stores. Your product attracts a certain type of customer and you probably deal with less stress because of that. 5 star jeweler in my book.
@@YounginBallin you’ll prob get someone say “shits less then 50% so it’s worthless” yet while knowing 14k (to me personally is low tier aswell) is slightly above 50% aswell
Agree with you 💯. I own 5 chains from Jacoje, and Braden has always been so helpful and will email me personally to discuss my questions... VERY HONEST MAN HERE with quality gold and diamonds.
Disagree even 50 cent was wearing moissanite. I'm not falling for the natural diamond marketing and price manipulation. Not to mention the human toll of blood diamonds. In fine with lab stones. Don't wanna hear about resale because only solid metal has good resale value. Stones are a crap shoot when it comes to resale.

1:43 these are those "prism" cut Franco's I see on Saints Gold and the like, not only do they look horrible, like someone got their chain stuck in a garbage disposal. They are just ugly as hell. It started going up around 2007 little by little till eventually now it’s about 39.00 and up for 14k. Gold is more than platinum now
@@robertlopez5294 wow that's crazy cheap but then again money was different back then. No wonder Mr T was able to afford all that gold lol
@@Lcatcher24 Yep. Money went a lot farther back then. Those were the days.
I HAVE A TRI COLOR ROPE CHAIN AND TRI COLOR ROPE BRACELET FROM JACOJE! BOTH DAILY PIECES WORN AT WORK AND TO THE GYM MANY TIMES AND NO ISSUES! THESE TRI COLOR CHAINS GET COMPLIMENTS LIKE CRAZY. GREAT QUALITY
Is Jacoje firing Shots at Saints Gold ?🤣.... That St.Franco is Tempting Though...I Can't Lie...Especially that Rose/ White Gold one.
Yea that’s saints gold. So tempting to get too
If you like it, go ahead and get it. Worst case scenario, the franco ends up looking like solid rose gold. That's not a bad thing to me. And, it will take a long time and a lot of wear for that to even happen. Pull the trigger, you've got nothing to lose.
Daniel Jewelry inc, Hawaiian Rope Chains also sell two tone prism. Let's not jump to conclusions
@@orangeslice316 LOL
Dam so the prism cuts fade away?
So do all chains with the white gold diamond cuts eventually fade away ? Because I have a cuban curb chain with the white gold diamond cuts but think it would look better without them
If they do then it probably takes like 10 plus years because I’ve had a flat curb bracelet and it hasn’t faded
I agree, hollow chains, especially in the smaller diameters, are not fragile like an egg.
I got one too even if it loses Shine the values still there I don't think that should have been on this video
I had a 6mm herringbone all through high school. I loved it! Till one night I fell asleep wearing it. I was sooo pissed.

I’m a retail jeweler and will NEVER sell hollow chains, they will come back to haunt me, ‘It broke again.’ Riddles, Zales, etc. on the other hand are money grabbers and the company execs aren’t at the counter to get screamed at, but rather Their poor Pawns. No wonder they have such a high customer and employee turnover.
I bought a solid 2.5mm 26 inch rope with a solid 14kt gold angel wing 1 inch wear it every day since I got it about 2yrs ago zero issues it gets steam cleaned every 90 days or so still looks brand new I've been saving up for a super thicc boy chain will be placing my next order during Aug I have 5k saved up wanna go with a different link this time highy recommend jewelry from this fella he will never cheat u or never will point u to something just to make a sale
I used to get my chains re-dipped ALL THE TIME & they always came back GREAT ! Its no BIG DEAL as long as you have GOOD Jeweler
Bro you really do make the most informative easy to understand straight to the truth jewlery videos I've ever seen man you answer questions that not even jewlers can answer. Fw you heavy 💯
Recently placed an order with Jacoje, can’t wait. I bought a chain with another popular online retailer which I later regretted due to issues. Wish I did more research and went with Jacoje to start with
Okay, glad you warned me about the 1mm rope chain. I'm in the market for something to put a pendant on so I'm removing the rope chains from possibilities.
I have three solid gold chains since 2019 and I never take them off. Shower, sleep, walk , work out, party, work, they never break. I had a hollow rope and it broke in my sleep and never again
Where you got ‘em?
@@Northsmen one from jewelry unlimited Atlanta and two from NYC 47th street Diamond District- Menorah Jewelers Inc
Bought a chain from jacoje awhile back and was very pleased esp when it said it was just about 19g only to find out later when I went to 2 different jewelers who told me it was only 11g. Smh
Should have gotten a scale and weighed it yourself
Naw, B.
My figaro was gifted to me in 1995. I’ve been wearing it almost EVERYDAY since. Still looks amazing.
Saw a herringbone 10mm chain FROM THE 80’s in mint perfect condition at the pawn shop so it’s possible to keep them nice
isnt most white Gold rhodium plated? the 2 tone are both RG/WG or YG/WG so whats the problem there? white gold fades and yours looks alright after 13 years.. i feel this is taking shots at the Prism cuts, just my thoughts
Nvm I was wrong there isn’t white gold, just rhodium plated.. their specs is misleading
Ive had my cuban for 20yrs+!!!
Have to get the clasp replaced every few years but i can live with that @ the price i gave!!!!👍👍
I haven't shopped jacoje yet but did buy alot of chains cause of his knowledge
Being having a diamond link cuban cut since 05 and still looks new
Thanks so much for the info - I'd only be aware of these problems with gold chains once I'd experienced these expensive problems! Thanks again.
Facts I only wear solids, cool on two tones
Still have my 24in jacoje diamond cut Franco chain from April 2018 and no issues 💯🔥
Thank you, been buying 18 and 21k gold. None of mine look like what you showed, great tips.
Would that whole figaro in the video fade or just the white gold cuts? I haven’t seen a figaro higher than a 5.5mm on Jacoje’s site in a quite a while.
Hi my 14k chain says YGI stamped on it. What dose that mean
What's the problem with anchor chains or the gucci link 🤔
Is it because they are hollow?
Are omega and snake chains susceptible to same damage as the herringbone?
I bought first bracelet, worn it 24/7 for the last two years and never had a problem
Wonder if I can get some feedback? Buying a 102 gram 14k 8mm rope chain for 5,500 is that a good investment
I have seen many gold chains being advertised online. Let's say there are chains the have the same specifications. Why are there huge price differences with chains? I've seen chains for $450.00 and the same type of chain is for $1200.00 elsewhere.
Great content and commentary. Keep up the good work.
Just got a 2 tone Franco from an estate sale
Good deal (solid of course) but I appreciate the knowledge knowing that it’s more than likely going to fade
Herringbone chains almost always end up as scrap gold.
i used to sleep with my 6mm rope that weighed less than 20gs from what i remember but it was 10k so a lot more durable than 14k+ considering it might be too weak to do the same for the same weight
I also agree, those rings are super thin and i can tell they wear down, and i maybe wear the chain 2-3x a week lol
this was so hopeful!!! thank you esp about herringbones getting bumps
So am I better off buying a 2mm solid 22" over a 5mm 22" rope? I do love the look of the 5mm, but I want something to last more. Or does the thickness of the hollow 5mm make it stronger than the solid 2mm?
This is my whole childhood. I guess I’ll just let my mom know to buy all the $10,000 dollar Cuban link chains next time..
Is 10 ct gold worth buying ?
It has a lot of copper and nickel and might discolor your skin leaving behind unsightly tarnish. Some of my 10kt and even 14kt yellow gold jewelry does this. I've never had this happen with white gold.
Just a question I washed my Figaro gold chain w/ baking soda & dawn soap with lukewarm water & im not
Sure if it just happened but the whole inside of my chain turned white??? & the outside is fine
2:17 I have two figaro chains and bracelet just like this one, diamond cut and two tone. They look so beautiful 👏🏼.
I only keep herring for special occasions but solid ropes ftw tbh the silver / white gold is better
See there that's where u fucked up Macy lol not gonna I was buy a chain from Macy or Walmart then I read so may bad reviews about how they paid Iike 300 and the chain they got was gold plated and not 14k lol never
This is why I own 5 Jacoje chains, I currently have been triple stacking.
Ive had my hollow chain for about 5 years now... no issues and its a everyday chain
Really
A little bit of research can go a long way, this video just saved me
5:10 sadly you are 100% right I thought I could wear this for a life time only took 2-5 months till it got bumps and bends really sad this is what happens because I loved it still haven't gotten it melted due to it being the first chain or jewelry I have ever bought/owned worked so hard for it but nothing in this life is for ever
My silver rope is still shining after 12 years.
I got the lifetime coverage on my overpriced hollow rope chain from Helzberg's, so I guess I'm all set for the damage it may incur.
Thank you for your informative videos!
is there any online shops that u recommend to shop for legit gold chains? or only local buys?
I bought a flat curb from jacoje a few years ago and it's still looking brand new honest Braden keeping it well honest😅👍👍👍
Braden,
Thanks for this informative and honest video. I've owned both herringbone and snake chains and they kink and/or ripple after a short time. There is no way to repair them, and you surely won't wear them as they do not hang properly. Had I know these chains would kink, I would have never purchased them. Save up for a quality chain that you can wear for a lifetime. #JACOJE
Dam I haven't seen one of these videos since the custom Jacoje script video. (3 years ago) Crazy how time flies!!!
I agree with most of what you said , other than 10kt. What’s wrong with 10kt?
@@YounginBallin you’ll prob get someone say “shits less then 50% so it’s worthless” yet while knowing 14k (to me personally is low tier aswell) is slightly above 50% aswell
Agree with you 💯. I own 5 chains from Jacoje, and Braden has always been so helpful and will email me personally to discuss my questions... VERY HONEST MAN HERE with quality gold and diamonds.
@@gucciboy4555 14 is 58.5 . 10k is garbage. More garbage than gold. 14k is the best between wearable and acceptable. 10k IS GARBAGE, NOT GOLD
And the two tone makes it look cheap, that and the thought of ruining what was a perfectly good chain like a Franco to turn it into that.
3:15 those horrible cheap what I call "Mall store Figaros".
10kt and hollow, sounds like Jared's/Zale's/Kay's low quality stock that goes for INSANE high premiums. That 8mm rope would have gone for 3k-4k at Jared's, smh.
I don't know how they get away with ripping people off like that. Great video Braden! Much respect for only stocking the best!!!
Thanks for the videos. What do you look for to make sure a piece isn’t gold over silver which has become very common?
you can judge that by weight
@@rogerr.8507 That’s right, thanks man.

Hell yeah answered some of my questions especially the herringbone chain I know you did a video on it a couple years back but was wondering if you were ever gonna sell the thick ones like 2pac they do look very lavish but I don’t want no chain that’s gonna dent real easy after I just paid thousands of dollars another great quality video smash 💥 that like 👍
I'm just glad it's people like this putting out this information for others to educate themselves on jewelry. A lot of people don't know shit and think they know. I've had plenty of all types of jewelry and have been wearing jewelry since I was a kid. Like elementary school kid kid. My dad use to buy all of our jewelry from Albert's in NW Indiana
What do you recommend for kids age 8 to 12?
Great suggestions and very clever.
